Don't quit cold turkey. It can be harder that way, and you might end up going for the soda more often. Try cutting it out slowly. If you're drinking a certain amount of soda a day, start drinking one glass less, until you're down to none at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard an increase in blood volume from the exercise also makes the scale go up. It should normalize and you should start losing weight. I had the issue of gaining weight or it appearing I wasn't losing any, but then it's been coming off.

I love this. Knowing the difference is huge. When I have a lapse, I work that much harder to get back into the next day. I never want to relapse and go back to the way it was before. It's not worth it.
