Check out craigslist, thrift stores, and used sporting goods stores for cheap weights. If you really can't afford anything look around your house or work for heavy things to lift. A gallon milk jug of water is 8.4 lbs. That's more than your 5lb ones.

Are you logging every thing that goes into your mouth? Weighing and measuring every single thing? If so and you really want advice open up your food diary and let people have a look. Then also a detailed description of your exercise. How long, how much, and how hard. I see people in the gym everyday just putting in their…

Is your trainer a nutritionist or certified dietitian? I understand why the fish oil and flax oil but the benefits I've read of have little to do with weight loss. Olive oil is high in calories I don't see where that could help in weight loss. It's the combination that promotes fat loss? I'd be interested to see the…

Just because you don't see the professionals wearing gloves doesn't mean anything. Oh wait... Maybe it does.

The fact remains calories in < calories out = weight loss, if your paying attention to your food intake and purposefully keeping it below your energy expenditure then you are "technically" counting calories whether you are putting a number to them or not.

myth: You don’t have to count calories Fact: calories in < calories out = weight loss

Weight fluctuates and scales aren't always accurate. If your using a digital scale try weighing yourself, reset it and weigh yourself again. The variation was bothering me so I went and bought a beam scale. The kind most doctor office's use. I got a good deal for one that came out of a doctor's office on craigslist. It's…

So you only want answers from people that it worked for them? If those were the only people that would have replied you would have gotten no replies to this thread, Nearly every response was a nice polite response just not the response you wanted. There is no jump start. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ calories in <…

The trainer is free, he's what the gym provides. He's not vested in you long term. Keep getting advice on proper form from him. Form is key in lifting heavy.

Your a runner. “If you run, you are a runner. It doesn't matter how fast or how far. It doesn't matter if today is your first day or if you've been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run.”

My wife bought me a 2xl shirt and there is no way I was going to be a 2xl. 30 lbs down, now I'm wearing a medium and I've dropped a couple pant sizes. I'm headed for my goal weight at which point I want to concentrate more on building muscle.

I think all the polar ones track calories burned but I'm not sure. There are some that make you do your own calculations. There are also some that do not figure your heart rate into the calculation. I'm not sure what the point of those are but I've heard of them. As far as I know the Polar ones are all good. I have a…

Buy the ziploc reusable disposable containers. The one cup size has markings at the half cup mark. Pre fill a bunch of them with 1/2 or 1 cup serveings of what you like. I make them up with cottage cheese, applesauce, pineapple, yogurt, veggies, whatever else sounds good. It's quick to take a couple minutes and put a bunch…

Biggest loser contestants are aiming to lose the most in the shortest period of time. They are not looking to do it the most healthy and long term sustainable way.

No frig is easy, a lunch box and an ice pack will keep food cold for 8 hours. Sandwiches and salads can be eaten cold. If your going low carb or avoiding bread there are plenty of low carb healthier breads, pita's, or tortilla's out there to deliver your sandwich fillings. Lots of fruits and fresh veggies are good for you.…

No showers on campus? You could work out after class and go home to shower. To the OP does your school have a gym or any fitness classes. Most colleges have clubs and activities. Check out what your school offers, your already paying for it.

Just keep doing it, though I suspect you already knew that. The posts above had way more helpful answers, I'm just pointing out the obvious.

Do your parents think your getting to thin? I'm 40 I've lost thirty pounds. I don't live with my parents but my mom hassled me recently about being to thin. I'm in the best shape I've been in my life. I'm stronger faster and have more endurance than I did playing football in high school. I think I've got another 20 lbs to…

If you've got proper form then my guess and it would be only a guess is that you've got something out of balance. One set of muscles stronger than the other probably related to climbing. When you do the squat your using some muscles you do use when climbing and some you don't. I'd recommend backing way off on the squat…

Have someone check your form. If you don't have someone local video it and send it to them. I've heard of guys on strength training forums being willing to do this.

How much weight you talking? A bit of gain is not uncommon.

Ohhh, I like this one. I hope you don't mind if I add it to my collection. This has been my favorite quote- "I'm not on a diet because diets don't work. This is a lifestyle change." Weight loss is 100% diet. eat less than you use and you will lose weight. I'm not discounting exercise because exercise is huge but you can…

When your 50 lbs over weight ain't no body composition in the world going to look good. Gotta get that fat off so that muscle can be built.

Are you logging everything you eat? I mean everything? If you are, are you staying under your calorie goal? Losing weight is 100% diet. Exercise will help determine what you'll look like when you get to that weight and it can help you get there faster but weight loss is diet. Consume less than you use and you'll lose…

I'm serious, down 30 lbs got another 20 to go. I got nothing to show off so no pics of me.

Google it look at the studies and decide for yourself. The 8 glasses a day has no scientific basis. Its some number some one came up with. Why is it the same for people in humid climates as well as dry climates? Its not necessary and there are no health benefits to consuming to much water. Your body is very good at…

I understand relative weight very well and I understand your point. I'm not asking for a gun powder scale, I've got one of those. If I'm going to invest in a scale that is consistent why not also make it accurate? If its consistent then its only the matter of adjustment to make it accurate. People for thousands of years…

If you just put spaghetti sauce on them you will be disapointed. I have had good luck with backing them with spaghetti sauce with cheese sprinkled on top or with Alfredo sauce. You need to give the noodles a chance to pick up the flavor of what your cooking them with. My wife says they remind her of the texture of…

You weigh every day and you don't see the point in accuracy? By your logic it would be wasted effort to weigh every day. Is accuracy AND consistency to much to ask?
