I would try shifting your macros away from carbs before increasing calories

Nice. That's more consistent than me!

Hello, I recently went from about 245 to current weight of 180. I started with a goal of 239, then 229 etc. with an "ultimate" goal of 195. Well, guess what? I got there and felt so good that I wanted to keep going. Back up a bit Pulp Fiction style - I consulted a nutritionist around the 225 mark because I had stalled for…

Buy a digital food scale, it is the tool that will help the most with fat loss.

Both (low weight high rep and heavy load low rep) induce hypertrophy. Heavy/Low induces myfibrillar hypertrophy wherein your body adapts to create more muscle fibers (just in case you decide to push your limits again). Light/high induces sarcoplasmic hypertrophy which is the thickening of existing muscle fibers. Basically,…

Very cool! What is the Sugar Skull medal from?

How much blood? If just a sample, you should be fine, if you donated a pint, you might want to wait until tomorrow. I just had four vaccinations (traveling to Kenya in September) a week ago. I had one subcutaneous in my Triceps, one in my left delt and two in my right delt. I lifted that night, I figured I would rather be…

Stevia in the Raw is another one of those that plays the numbers game. It is 4 calories so not really zero according to your body, regardless of what the label says. The first ingredient is Dextrose.

He should really have a doctor check his hormone levels before assuming that this is the problem. I would also push to have a vitamin D test done as well. I had some signs of Low-T a while back (lots of anxiety/depression etc), we did the testosterone blood test and it was normal. Fast forward a year later and I had a…

This! I set my first goal at 190 lbs. Once I hit that I thought, why not 185? Then I hit that and was still feeling good so here I am at 180 thinking that I can hit 175 no problem.

I feel great physically. I also feel very optimistic, thinking about what I can improve next. Can I build more muscle, perform better athletically, there's always something. The other thing is that I feel annoyed with people who constantly make excuses as to why they can't and call me lucky. The same ones who ask me time…

Dang @McCloud33 - Mirin' big time. I couldn't break 2 plates on squat on SL. I switched to a push/pull 4 day split for a while then started Jonnie Candito's periodized program and am starting my third round this afternoon.

I use my heart rate as an indicator of recovery between sets.

@McCloud33 - I am currently at a 925 total at 179 BW. I figure if I can get to 1K without going over 185, that will be a huge milestone. That goal keeps my training focus. Good luck on your progress!

I did it once but modified. We did it every other day instead of every day because I was 245lbs at 5'11". The first day, I couldn't even make it through the warm ups. The workouts were hard all the way through because I would tend to cheat and not put forth full effort. Toward the end of the program, I could keep up on all…

I will become a member of the 1000 lb club this year.

I think it depends on the injury. You should recover first but rowing could help eliminate muscular imbalance. If you spend more time pressing (bench/pushups/OHP etc) than pulling movements, you may have an imbalance that could be helped reduced by rowing.

Look him in the eye and lift more than he does.

Have you been regular? Generally I found that my fiber intake was quite low on a low carb diet and I really had to supplement it. Don't underestimate the capacity of the human digestive system.

I went through SL 5x5 a while ago and stalled on squats, deloaded, progressed a bit, stalled, switched to low bar, stalled etc. All in all it was a great program but got a bit boring. I started adding in some auxiliary exercises and pretty soon it was nothing like SL. I switched to a periodized program and have made…

Doing Jonnie Candito's periodized lifting program (3-5 days per week variable) and LISS 4 days/week.

Check out the Merrell Vapor Glove shoes, they are the closest thing to bare feet that I've ever tried and don't have the goofy toe separations.

The Chucks might give you a bit of ankle support that you wouldn't get with bare feet. Also they protect you against fungus and other nasties that may be lurking on the gym floor :o

Put your kid on your back and do your squats. As they get bigger, you will get stronger. Built in progress.

Little bites here and there can get you into trouble quickly. The show "Secret Eaters" has tackled this one before where someone was preparing dinner and taking a bite or two every so often and wound up eating somewhere around 400 calories before dinner. Presumably the food in question is not celery, therefore it is…
