I'm in the same boat. Second time here with 40 pounds to lose. I just sent you a friend request.

Hi, I joined 6 days ago. So far, so good!
-
Thanks. I think I figured it out :)

I just couldn't stay with the program. Didn't have the discipline. But now I have been feeling so lousy with the extra 50 pounds I am carrying (I am 5'2"), and I'm starting to have some health issues related to the extra weight.

Thanks!

Also a grandma here trying to lose 40 pounds and finding it so much harder at the age of 61. Feel free to add me if you'd like :) I am on here daily and have an open food diary.

I am also 61 and also am a former WW loser. Gained a lot back and now I am trying to lose 40 pounds. I find it is much more difficult at this age than it ever was before! Feel free to add me if you'd like :)

Hi, I am a former WW loser too. I have been on this site for about a month, and it's really a good support system. I am trying to lose 40 pounds. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like :)

Welcome. I've been on this site for a little over three weeks and I find it very helpful. Between the tracking of food and exercise and the support of friends, I am finally starting to change my bad eating habits. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like :)

Definitely over 50 here and have been on this site a little over 3 weeks. I find it really helps to track food and exercise and the support of friends is amazing! Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like :)

Hi, I'm 5'2" and started here at 170! Five years ago at my daughter's wedding I was 40 pounds lighter. Hard to believe I let myself go and put on that much weight in 5 years. But I have been on this site about three weeks and have lost 4 pounds and hoping to lose the entire 40 I put on. Tracking my food and exercise really…

Start tracking your food and exercise! It really does make you more aware. I've been on this site for about three weeks and it's great!

I have had issues with bingeing and also peanut butter really does me in. Have been on this site for three weeks. Most of the time, through tracking and receiving support from friends here, I do really well, but I still have the occasional binge and peanut butter episodes. I have come to realize that I'll always have those…

Feel free to add me. I am similar in height and trying to lose 40 pounds that I put on by bingeing! I have been on this site about three weeks and have lost 4 1/2 pounds so far.

Welcome! This is a great place to be motivated. I have been on here almost two weeks and hope to lose 40 pounds. I am also retired, married, with two grown children and one grandson who keeps me on my toes. If you want to add me as a friend, feel free to do so!

Being rather new as well, I don't know the answer to your question, but I usually find myself eating under calories due to the exercise. My opinion is that as long as you don't go too much under I don't think I'd worry about it. As far as resetting your calorie goal as you lose weight, I'm hoping that someone more…

Maybe you can ask your doc for some physical therapy exercises to help strengthen the wrist while it heals. I sprained an ankle one and I needed 4 months of physical therapy. Sometimes they take a while to heal, as mine did. Don't do anything too strenuous ... you'll only hurt yourself more and it will take longer to get…

I did WW online for a while and succeeded, but of course gained the weight back. Recently I looked into WW online again and it was higher in price, plus, like you, I got sick of counting points. Been on this site for about 10 days and I really like it and especially like the fact that it's free. I don't want to pay anymore…

I also am trying to lose 40 pounds! Add me if you like :)
-
That makes sense, thanks!

I can totally relate to your post! I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted and not worry about weight gain, but those days are long gone and gone forever. I have put on 40 pounds in the last 5 years and I, like you, realize it is time to stop! I joined this site a week ago, and the support is incredible! Tracking food…

Tracking my food and exercise has helped me be more accountable. I've only been at it for a week, but I am pleased with all the support!

I third that!

I do cardio almost every day, but weights just 3 times a week. You can do both at once, but don't do the weights on consecutive days unless you target a different body area.

There are good carbs and bad carbs. Fruit and veges are healthy for you. Try eliminating white flour carbs, those are the ones that turn to sugar after you digest them.
-
not to add any more fuel to this fire, but what does bumping a thread or a post mean? I'm new ... just joined last week.
