When I was researching HRMs , I found that Polar and Suunto were at the top of the list. My eyes aren't so great anymore so I ended up going with the Suunto M4 because of it's huge display. The chest strap is very comfortable, the instructions easy and the buttons uncomplicated. I've had it for about a week; so far so…

When I realized that my belly fat began under my breasts and jutted out in blobs. (so attractive) Never had that before when I gained weight. Being overweight and over 50 isn't something I want. I want to be the healthy old lady, not the one that can't walk up the steps without resting.

Lucia, I use a HRM to calculate calorie burn instead of MFP or the machines. I'm guessing it's closer to the truth.

This. You can visit the In Place of a Road Map Discussion group to get more information. Also, there is a spread sheet you can use that helps to figure it all out. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/717858-spreadsheet-bmr-tdee-and-deficit-calcs-macros-hrm I do a variation of this so I start with my BMR as the minimum…

I was wondering the same thing and beginning to think my HRM was just stingy and/or I'm just a slacker. It gives me less that the gym equipment but a little more that MFP. Thanks for posting the topic!

Does anyone use Fitbit adjustments in this challenge? I haven't been, but if I did, my numbers would be much larger. Thanks!

Totally works without the hunger. I was skeptical (formerly from the land of 1200) but found it works beautifully.

Over 50 and shooting for 135. At that weight I can wear an 8 and that's cool with me. Working on muscles this time around as well.

My goal is set to a little over BMR and I eat back most of my exercise calories. I was setting my goal TDEE - 20% and not eating exercise calories but found I wasn't consistent enough with my exercise and got worried. Anyhoo, I think it's working out about the same. Set my macros to 40/30/30 and set my sodium lower.

I have both a Fitbit Zip and an HRM. I rely on the Fitbit for walking and giving me an idea of how active I am throughtout the day, and the HRM for spin, Zumba, ellipitical and other cardo exercises.. I do enjoy both toys. If I had to choose between the two, it would be tough but I'd probably go with the HRM, and get an…

We got a hamster, whose name is Fluffy Muffins, for our son, however, it's the adults that are insanely amused by his antics. I don't know, there is something hilarious about a hamster rolling around in a ball..... I like the name Percy

I run for the Greek yogurt and protein shakes when having trouble reaching my goal. So far, Fage 2% (or 0%) plain is the best with a teas of honey, almonds and cinnimon. Although Yoplait Greek 100 key lime is good and doesn't have too much sugar. Gold Standard vanilla ice cream flavored whey protein is great tossed in a…

We are at the same place physically and I agree, not a healthy weight. (Even my HRM told me I was overweight!) Post here at MFP where people understand and just let your friends and family be WOWed when you reach your goal. If they are not being supportive, no reason to put up with the comments on FB.

I have the cheapy deapy Fitbit Zip and have really been enjoying it. I like seeing my step and calorie progress throughout the day and I do have it linked to MFP and Neufit. That said, I am anxiously awaiting my new Suunto HRM so I can get a better calorie burn reading for non walking activities (particularly spinning!). I…
