What an amazing story and what an amazing transformation!!! Congratulations! I just read your post to my son and showed him your pictures. He has been heavy most of his life and your story sounds a little like his. He is over 450# and has tried to lose a few times but always gains it back. The last time he lost 50# and…

Wow....you look terrific. You should be so proud of yourself and I hope you stick around here and keep motivating us with your great pictures and words of wisdom. I've been a yo-yo dieter in the past and have reached for food as my comfort when things get tough as most overweight people do. I have lost 20 pounds so far and…

You are a miracle. The motivation you had to accomplish losing that much weight had to be incredible. How did you keep your motivation up? My son is over 400 pounds. I'm so concerned that he will die young if he doesn't lose the weight. He did lose about 60 pounds then got depressed when he hit a plateau, then gained it…

Thank you for taking the time to break down your amazing journey. It has inspired me to keep going to reach my goal. I'm sure your students see the difference in you and I wondered if they have made any changes in their lifestyle after seeing what healthy eating and exercise can do for them. Good luck to you in your…

You're beautiful in both photos but I can sure tell you've lost a lot of weight. I enjoyed reading how you changed your eating habits and exercise gradually. It seems like you gained a lot of energy as you were losing and started focusing more on your body than on the food you used to eat. I have about the same amount of…

Hello I have a hypo thryroid problem and take 200 mcg a day. I have struggled with my weight after being sick with Hashimoto's disease about 15 years ago. I work in a stressful job situation and have had trouble losing weight and thought it may be from the situation I'm in. I lost 20 pounds on a low carb, low sugar diet…

MFP told me to eat 1200 calories. Someone told me to go back and change the amount to 1 pound I want to lose weekly. The reason is MFP thinks 2 pounds a week is too much to lose each week. When you put in two pounds it will warn you that it's too much. So, I changed it to 1 pound and it changed my calories from 1200 to…

You may not be eating enough calories and your body thinks you're starving. When you increase your calories you may gain for a few weeks and then once your body adjusts to the additional calories you will begin losing. I think someone posted a site to figure calories. See if you're eating the proper amount of calories and…

I was told when I set up my calories on MFP to only say that I wanted to lose one pound a week instead of two pounds a week because MFP doesn't calculate the calories correctly when you put in two because the calories are too low. (I was eating 1200 calories but couldn't lose weight and was blaming it on my thyroid…

When I used to use the treadmill I had to hold on because the motion made me feel dizzy because of an inner ear problem and for safety reasons I held on. Now, I walk outside and enjoy the world instead of being stuck in a room on a machine.

Very well put.....my sentiments exactly.

You're doing wonderful. Keep taking it one day at a time because all you have is time. If you didn't do anything you would be the same as you were. So, you are making terrific progress. I'm sure your body thanks you. Fifty pounds is a lot. The next time you go to the grocery store try picking up a 50 pound bag of dog food…

I'm sorry to hear that your husband passed away. It must have been horrible for you and your son to go through. Your transformation is incredible and your strength to make the change must have taken a lot of courage. Best of luck to you.
