I am quitting the booze for a while too. I hope it helps. My husband and I almost always quit for several months after new years. It usually helps, but the weight comes back at the end of the year when we start eating and drinking what we want again. It's a vicious battle. I am back on the wagon for now :-)

Hi Hazel, I am starting back up on the 1st.......Again. We can do this. I am 46 and weigh only 10 pounds less than when I had my first child at 9 months pregnant.....(she is 16 now). I AM going to make 2013 my year to get back in the groove. Anything is possible......you can do it!

I am definitely interested in joining! I have let myself "slide" for way too long and planning to get back on the wagon on the 2nd. I need all the help I can get.....that 46 year old spread is killing me.

Everything I read says processed sugar is the "devil", but I don't think you can go wrong with natural sugars from fresh fruit. I do try to stay away from fruit juice though. I guess it just depends who you ask...good luck :-)

I can relate. I blow it on the weekends too. It seems like a vicious battle. I'll lose 2 or three pounds during the week and then gain four or 5 on the weekends. I am 46 and definitely noticed the difference since I turned 40. I don't have an answer, but you're not alone......

Hi Lewis, I had gestational diabetes with both of my children and now am considered pre-diabetic. I don't take any medication......yet.
