Its about eating right and exercising long term to reach a goal, if one scale reading means you quit then you'll need to sit and think about how much you want this. Tell me one overweight person thats been on a calorie defecit and exercised over the course of a year that hasnt lost weight... If the scale is going down, no…

Lots of posts here so im guessing you may have already received the help you need but just incase this is how we do it (not actual earnings, just an example): A earns 40,000 B Earns 30,000 All outgoings are recorded and calculated so both A and B know how much is required in the jointly owned account to pay for these…

Mine is the opposite. I'm overweight and unfit but my heartrate doesnt ever exceed 140 (i'm 6'1, 259lbs and 28). I cant ever get it higher than that even with sprinting! My resting heartrate is also fairly high so at resting its 70-80 but with exercise goes anywhere from 120-140. It seems crazy to me but im still losing…

Up your calories to maintenance and remember you're not eating for 2, you're eating for (at the very most!) 1.2 Women only gain too much weight when pregnant when they fall in to the 'eating for 2' trap. My wife did with our first but not with our second and the difference was dramatic

Sounds to me like you didnt have your hands in wraps and gloves? If you cant move your little finger you may have 'boxers knuckle' its a common knuckle fracture if your fist doesnt impact the target correctly. If its affecting your work then you need to go to the doctors and get an XRAY. Nothing more you can do except cold…

I'm normally in a rush so i just mix the powder with water and chug it! to me its doing a job so it doesnt have to have all that extra stuff with it for my body to seperate.

I honestly believed that i looked ok until I saw photos. I'd avoid being infront of the camera! I also made excuses and jokes when it came to any form of exercise. Now i like being fit

You really have to want to give up smoking. I quit 2 days before my first son was born 2 years ago now. It took me another 2 years to care about my weight and fitness which brings me here now! If you think about it quitting smoking is easy, all you have to do is stop and thats it sorted, losing weight and getting fit takes…

Try the physalis fruit. 5 calories a pop and theyre so sweet and yummy!

Dont fall into the trap of thinking you can just majorly over indulge on anything because you've done some training. Review the calories set out for you firstly as they could be too low. If you're burning 200 calories then you can take in 200 more if you're still at an overall defecit. You have to carefully monitor your…

I have an image as a goal rather than a weight. My ultimate goal is 15% body fat but i plan to build my muscle up to a certain level too. I dont know what weight I will be when i reach that goal but that doesnt matter to me. 15% body fat and ripped, thats my goal :)

6'1. Started at 290, was down to 275 by the time I joined MFP a couple of weeks ago and im 262 now. going for the 'slowly does it!' approach with weight lifting and cardio (and calorie counting). I'm trying to avoid the skin sag so im going for no more than 3lb a week at the moment. The visual changes and NSV's are coming…

They reckon anywhere between 10 and 20lbs is a dress/trouser size. Its different for everyone. Personally i've already lost an inch from my neck but nothing from my waiste (from what i can tell!). I think i'll lose it from the face and neck first You could be the same?

I probably wont log forever. Doing this has given me a good understanding of portion size and whats high or low in calories. If i see that i'm gaining a couple of lbs then i'll log again until im back where i want to be.

I dont worry if i go over on one day or even 2. I just make a note of how many calories i went over by and exercise that amount back off on top of what i'd normally do. Whether it takes me a day or a week to do that it doesnt matter. MFP gives us daily and weekly targets but what it cant show is the overall target, as long…

I can see how that doesnt help. I'm going out for a curry tonight and its so difficult to find something on the menu that doesnt pack a massive calorie punch! My mum used to do the same. If i have a meal round her house the meals are twice the size and she;ll bring out treats etc straight afterwards. Since I moved out its…

And women dont look and admire men in the gym? i cant fix anyone elses self esteem issues. If you think men dont look at your backside wherever you are and whatever you do then you're living under a rock :)

eat and then go to the gym and work those calories back off.

I bought a punch bag. Problem solved! :)

I dont know about everyone else but i only compliment and comment when I know someone has done something thats been a personal challenge to them. I feel like i know my friends on here quite well now so when one person gives up chocolate for a whole day thats an achievement, if my friend thats afraid of the gym goes to the…

For my health. To look good and not get comments. To be able to wear nice things etc. I'm very fortunate that in my job i get to drive some very expensive and posh cars. If i were slim and ripped driving around town in one of those badboys i'd feel a million dollars! at the moment when i drive one i just feel like the fat…

2 years ago i took control of my money. I reduced all my bills using comparison sites, i snowballed all debts i had and now i've passed the tipping point with the same mentality im saving lots of money every month! I realised i didnt need cable tv, i didnt need an expensive cellphone and i didnt need a great car. Now my…

Clothes and more clothes! i might actually start saving now so i can really go wild and completely renew all of my clothes.

Exercise cleanses the soul, it helps with depression and generally makes you feel better. Dieting is no fun. Why dont you eat a couple of things you really want a week and make sure you offset it exactly with exercise. When you feel better you can continue with the exercise and cut that treat for a bigger loss.
-
I like spinning. More the watching than the doing. In my gym the rowing machines are in a great position to watch some bottom wobble so if you see stationary rowing in my diary chances are there was a spinning class at the same time :) You have to get your inspiration from somewhere...

Sounds like you got bored. Mix it up and do something different. Moving around and raising your heart rate means losing weight and building muscle! running on a treadmill isnt fun and neither is the eliptical. Go out and buy yourself a basketball or soccer ball, find other people that are interested and do that once a…

I also do this but because I exercise at night i found i'd be eating up until my calories but never over and i'd end up with a big defecit. Now i factor in 3/4 intense workouts a week and have set my calorie intake per day to suit this. Now i just eat up to that daily and have to be aware that if i skip training i'll be in…

I'm also from the UK. I also had slightly too much of a good time at uni and kinda carried on afterwards! Anyone can feel free to add me. 28/m/West Midlands

Thats a great NSV, it shows that your weight loss is having an affect on how you project yourself to others. You're already being more confident and that alone changes how others see you. Great one!

You and your mom look like sisters!!!! its great that you're doing this together. I bet it does help
