Good for you…takes ALOT of work!

Hi there :) I also eat low carb and have gone through menopause although I am a bit older, I find that it has helped. You mentioned meal ideas! I have found for me that protein, and non - starchy vegetables is primarily what I eat. ( I do though include some rice, potatoes and black beans because I love them! ) So for…

Flame dolls….are any of you here in 2022? If so I’d love , love to hear from you. 💕

Hi, I’m not sure who will see this with all the other many posts. I’m 64, only 10 pounds from goal weight, my photo is of me 12 years ago. Looking for friends now. I was here on MFP 2011 and met many nice people. Hoping to find that fun again. 💕

I couldn't agree more and this is my experience too. I think every person will have to find their own balance. Just keep paying attention :-)

I did what you are doing and I left it at the 10%. Best of Luck :)

Jazzercise is Awesome!!

I think for me food means several of the things you mentioned. :smooched: For me the trick has been acknowledging that, and then making smarter decisions about it. I realized that just because I had feelings associated with foods, I could still control what I put in my mouth. Not a simple task, but not impossible either!

Thanks redheadedmommy, I completely agree. And, there are a lot of great reasons for a little HRT, unfortunately the media has buried them! But every woman should decide for herself for sure. As for me, I've used the patch for a month now, feel sooo much better too. I had a weird 4 pound weight gain but it did go away.…

Wow! No paleo gals have used any form of hormone replacement? Hard to believe! I'll bump this again ????
-
I can appreciate your opinion, thank you. Since I do eat paleo and live a healthy lifestyle, I purposely posted here. Anyone else?!

Love this post! Thank you ????

Yeah, I gotta agree with all the advice above that is saying, don't do it! The harm is that you are killing your metabolism by eating fewer and fewer calories. And, this is what makes you stall out. So, after your body gets used to 800-1000, it will stall again.....so the minute you eat what you should be able to, you will…

Hi there - I'm 54, had 2 children, and my profile pic is me currently. I'm at about 20% body fat. Ive been maintaining now for over a year. Like an above poster mentioned, it's about getting body fat down, so you can see those abs. Sounds like you have been working on a strong core which is a great thing! I only had 40…

For the first time in 2+ years I didn't count while on vacation this summer.....just 2 weeks!! I did gain a few and I figured them to be water as they are now all gone. I figure everyone has to find their own system. AND that will change over and over as life goes along. I say, count when it is important and relax when you…

Hi again, just another thought about fruit.......(and there will be disagreement on this for sure)......now a days, fruit is bred to be sweeter than it was when it first appeared on the planet......THAT is why we like is so much........ But, just think about what it originally tasted like, what perhaps its original purpose…

Hi bedhead, I'm not sure if my advice will be helpful! I do follow a low carb and high fat diet, but I don't do the IIFYM plan. My macros are 60%fat, 20% protein and 20% carb. (So you know where I'm coming from.). I don't eat fruit for the reason you mentioned, too many carbs and honestly it just leaves me wanting more…

Thanks for asking! I'm back from a vacation and a bit bloated! Need 3-4 really good days of eating to fix that, but as usual I'm impatient and moody abut it! I'll live! Hope you week ends well ????
-
I eat a primal/paleo diet that is natural and unprocessed foods. It is generally low carb. I stay under 75 per day usually. What I can tell you is that I feel great! I say try it, maybe give yourself a week or so to adjust before making up your mind. I would add that if you are very active, you may need the carbs for…

Yeah, you probably should. What I do when I cook with it, is spray it from one of the fill it your self misto pump bottles that you can buy in a kitchen type store or online. I was curious to see how much it took to cover a piece of fish I was sautéing, weighed the fish raw with no oil, then weighed it raw after…

Every damn day! Lol! Actually I like to learn about my body and what happens to it..... Yeah, at first fluctuations or not losing would bum me out. But then I started to record the daily weigh ins on a separate spreadsheet along with the number of calories and carbs I ate the day before....as well as exercise minutes. .…

Margaritas, no question....unless we can just do tequila shots and forgo the sugar..... ;-)

I hear ya. At 54, with 2 adult children I have my share of stretch marks, saggy skin....but what eases my mind is just remembering that I'd rather be this way than the 40 pounds over weight I was when I joined MFP. like the poster above, I like how I look with clothes on and I remember too that my hubby loves me with my…

Thanks for the original post, it is exactly what I've done and it works for me. I also have a 3-5 range of happy weight so I don't have to be neurotic about one specific number on the scale.
-
I have a small ideal weight range that is where I'm happy and I tend to continue to eat at my TDEE minus 5% as a calorie goal. I did recently go on a week vacation and decided not to log or mentally count calories and just make good choices while enjoying a few treats along the way. I was up at the top of my range when I…
-
I use the heybales spreadsheet.......I eat my TDEE minus 5% on the average, been maintaining since April this way ???? Look into the "in place of a roadmap" group for the spreadsheet and info pertaining to it.

I don't know whether I'll count forever or not.....but what I do know at least for now, I must remain conscious of what I eat and what my body really needs. It will change as well as I grow older, stronger, etc. It's a great tool!!
