I'm 5' 3", age 55, and according to MFP, I can have 1510 cals per day, but I am also very active. I do not eat back my exercise calories because I've done that in the past and I've gained. But that's just me. Everyone is different. You have to find what works for YOU through trial and error. Good luck! :)

YOU MAY WANT TO ADD B12 TO YOUR LIST OF SUPPLEMENTS. i DID, ABOUT 6 MOS, AGO, AND I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MUCH MORE ENERGY I HAVE EACH DAY! :)

Why rush home to remove make-up? Drugstores have makeup remover wipes. Buy some...carry them in your car...problem solved.

You have blessed my life in so many special ways, too, darlin' xo

You are officially my new BFF. :flowerforyou:  I'm 54. :blushing:

If you can't stomach high fibre foods (like me) and Metmucil is vomit-inducing (ditto), try the Ultra Fibre tablets, which are 100% natural (made from psyllium and prunes). Two tablets a day, and I'm a regular gal.

I have ACL in one knee and meiscus tear in the other. Like Icyeyes317, I find an eliptical to be painful. However, I have no issues with my recumbent bike.

Truly awesome! I weigh the same as you do now, yet I wear a size 16 pants whereas you are in 8-10's? Wow.

I'm 55, have lost 61 lbs. since Sept. 2012 here on MFP, and still have 20 lbs. more to lose. Friend me if you like! :flowerforyou:

Log your daily walk to work as exercise, but do NOT log cleaning. cooking, etc. as exercise. Configure your levels at "lightly active" and eat back your exercise calories. Try to add some kind of workout 3 times a week for 15 minutes each time, even if it's doing at-home cardio (lots of good work-out videos on YouTube).

I think you looked pretty great BEFORE, too! :)

As with any addiction, food addiction is something from which you have to experience withdrawals in order to start healing. Your body takes some time to adjust to de-toxifying it. Why do you think drug addicts in rehab crave sugar? The brain/body connection is a mystifying thing, but trust me......I felt the same way you…

Laura, you are sooo right! Dieting is NOT about denying yourself your favourite foods! Portion control is key! :drinker: Love ya, hon! xo  :flowerforyou:

Hi there! I'm 54 and menopausal. I started MFP in Sept 2012, and have lost almost 60 lbs. I did it the usual way - ate less, moved more. I've made very few changes to my diet, except to substitute a lot of my favourites with low-calorie, low-fat options. In other words, I eat what I like, but have mastered portion control.…

I joined MFP in Sept. 2012 at age 53, and by May 2013, I had lost 50 lbs. However, since then, I have only lost 7. They say that the closer you get to your goal weight, the harder it is to take pounds off.......I believe it!

"Twerking"...ugly word for an equally ugly act.

Oops..one more worth mentioning... I met Larry Bird (basketball great) in an airport. We sat and chatted about our families. Didn't know who he was until after he boarded, and the guy next to me poked me and said, "Do you have any idea who that was you were talking to?" I replied, "Well, he's tall...was that the guy who…

Many, many moons ago, I used to work at an entertainment venue in Ohio, and met several celebs.... Billy Joel let me sit beside him on the piano bench as he warmed up prior to his show. Nicest man you'd ever want to meet, and funny, too. Liked to drink bourbon. Red Skelton (yep, I am that old) was hilarious, kind, sweet,…

Good Lord, yes, I am a different person! I LIKE ME NOW! I didn't like my fat self at all before. And because of that, I wasn't always the most pleasant person to be around. :embarassed: I hated...haaaaated...how invisible my obesity made me, and how insensitive and rude people were to me. And because of all that…
