  • I just got really specific with what I wanted and what is more important. Do I like seeing my waist get smaller? Yes. Do I like looking cute in that new dress? Yes. Is it going to hurt me to miss 30 minutes of sleep a few times per week? No way. Do I want to be able to be active with my kids and be around to meet their…
  • Right?? I don't have to prop my arm up high by the window. There's enough room by my side for it to be comfortable. And this last weekend, I spent 8 hours in a little BMW roadster on a road trip and was comfortable the whole time, didn't have any trouble getting in and out of the car, and the seatbelt fit me. Holy crap.

  • Awesome work! Keep it up!
  • This. And now I believe it. I've decided that I'm going to treat my body the way it was designed to be treated. It's about the decision. I have a post-it in my car that says "Every adversity has an equal blessing on the other side" and that keeps me going, keeps reminding me that as I struggle, sweat, and cry, the reward…
  • Read "You Are A Badass" by Jen Sincero. That book helped me love myself and the journey and to stop being a victim of my circumstance and to change and to be confident and to talk to myself nicely and...it's a great book. It's not about dieting, it's about being better in general. Reading self improvement has strengthened…
  • Sprints have helped my lower abdomen a lot, too. And lots of spinach and chicken.
  • 24 years old 5'8" Curvy, muscular build CW: 214 GW: 170 for now. I was 180 two years ago and looked really good. College and two jobs was stressful, now I'm back on track :)
  • Basically what I am doing is faster reps of squats, jumping jacks, push ups, burpees, mountain climbers, tricep dips, step-ups (others) paired with sprints, walking planks, crunches, bicycles, and other ab stuff. I also do power yoga a couple of times a week. It's kind of HIIT, I didn't know what else to call it!
  • We can be friends. I'm at UI in Moscow and super interested in paleo. I work at a food co-op and have regular contact with all kinds of dietary needs. I scoffed a little originally at the idea of paleo, but I see the clean benefits now :)
  • Please, make sure you get one with Branch Amino Acids!!!!!!! Very important.
  • I...might be in love with this thread.
  • This. Adding sprints to my running workouts helped me lose 4 inches around my hips/lower belly in eight weeks. Also, doing ab workouts faster and combining intervals of lowering the heart rate and speeding it back up has helped my body fat.
  • Because waiting tables supports a drug habit....said nobody ever!
  • This. Also, I'll cut back on a few carbs if I wish to partake in a beverage. Being from Idaho and employed by a Food Co-operative...I definitely am exposed to many delicious micros. I make sure my daily diet is pretty lean and clean and 200 cals under since a couple of beers will take me 200 cals over :) And...I don't miss…
  • Body composition is the answer. I am not a "qualified source" but losing inches will make more of an impact than just weight. Read this: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/07/21/meet-staci-your-new-powerlifting-super-hero/
  • I'm barely losing 1/2 pound a week - I'm scared to up my intake by 400 calories per day for TDEE - 20%...
  • These are good: Coffee-mate Natural Bliss, Organic flavored half-and-half. I personally use So Delicious French Vanilla Coconut Milk coffee creamer. Low calorie, comparably priced and soy-free!
  • I already see it in your face and tummy! Looking good!
  • I wish every protein shake felt me up. That'd definitely lead to some satisfaction!
  • I have only lost three pounds since I started getting serious about working out six weeks ago but I've lost two inches around my waist, an inch around my hips, an inch around each thigh, and half an inch around each arm. My body composition is changing, which is good! I want a lower fat percentage. I'm not terribly…
  • HEY! Here's my honest opinion. Yes, lovers must compromise with the exception of when your health is at risk. Eating those high fat, high calorie, high carb foods will not help your body efficiency. I think the next step is deciding that you need to take care of yourself in order to take care of him. Commit to your health…
  • My favorite bra is the Maia. It's not cute or pretty, but it's supportive and flattering. I wear it under a tank and T-shirt, so it just looks like another layer. My only complaint is that there isn't a cup insert. This bra is true to regular size. These can be purchased at REI.com for $46.
  • Bump.
  • I would routinely check Ross or other outlet stores (Nike, Eddie Bauer, Columbia, North Face) to see what they rotate through. It may take longer to find what you're looking for and understand the limited budget thing.
  • Same with me :)
  • I have only been pushing my workouts for six weeks and am just now feeling stronger. It takes time and commitment. My fitness classes usually run for 45 minutes and go at your own pace - know what pushes you but don't hurt yourself. I have a sweet tooth as well - and the best thing I can do is to treat it every day because…
  • I'm a music major with a full-time class load and two part time jobs (with a private housecleaning gig on the side). I don't have the commuting issue but I do know that every little bit helps. Even if you only have thirty minutes free, you can use a cardio machine and study. I work on memorizing my music and anatomy for…
