What the heck? Bring back the newsfeed! I’ve been on MFP for almost 12 years - it’s my daily go/to to encourage my friends and vice versa. Do not understand this decision at all.

As to the weight gain over the past week, sometimes increasing or changing exercise routines can cause additional water retention (temporary). Try not to get discouraged and let your body adjust!

Almost 7 lbs. in 4 weeks is excellent! And, keep in mind, your weight loss may slow down a bit as you go along, so try not to get discouraged!

Unfortunately, we have a bit in common. I had just turned 17 when my mom passed away at 48, and I remember all of us kids feeling "weird" when we approached that age. I am now 56! Best wishes on your new commitment to yourself! :)

You might be surprised about your appetite when you increase exercise. Yes, appetite may increase some, but if you are increasing amount of exercise and/or intensity -- you may need more food/fuel, as well, i.e., food consumption may not dramatically increase, rather, increase in proportion to the increased activity.…
