  • Sounds good, guys. :)
  • I do two crossfit workouts, as well as a couple of hour-long walks during the week. At first I was still logging calories until I had a better idea on how much I could eat, and eventually I got to the point of eating more intuitively. When I do randomly log to gain some perspective time to time, I find I usually am eating…
  • I get at least 8, but more often 9-10. I go to bed around 11-12, and wake up around 8-9, though. I'm not sure if the sleep cycle in accordance to the sun's pattern is better? I used to drink one cup of coffee every morning but about a month ago, found that I didn't need to. Aside from green tea sometimes, I don't do…
  • Well I've heard that nicotine actually affects metabolism rate, though I never really believed that it would affect it that drastically. I'm sorry you gaining weight, but could it be muscle weight perhaps, since you workout a decent amount? How do you FEEL and LOOK? Also, I noticed you don't log on the weekends. If you're…
  • Ah 100 days, I can't wait to reach that day! That's so great!
  • Hey all! 5'4'' here HW: 130-140? CW: 119 GW: 110-115 CBF%: 20-21 GBF%: 15-18 I'm currently eating around 1800-1900 cals a day, focusing on protein and healthy carbs. (This has been working for me better than focusing on 1200 cals) I try to work out at least 5 days/week
  • I actually happened to get some shredded coconut for a another recipe the other day! So I'm going to try this out, looks good!
  • I totally know how you feel! Take advantage of this and use your happiness and determination to face any withdrawal symptoms or cravings to come. Being at such a positive state of mind already makes you one step further and the process much easier, but from experience, when those happy feelings are hard to maintain (ie: a…

  • It really get's easier. I'm not yet three weeks as a non-smoker, yet the improvement is incredible. It' just this initial abrupt hill you have to cross over, but once you get to the top, it's generally only downhill from there. And the more you give in, the more you fall back down to the bottom, only to have to look up and…
  • My go to proteins are chicken and fish, especially tuna. Have you ever put canned tuna in with your eggs? Most people I've mentioned that to cringed, but it's actually one of my favorite meals! I usually mix an egg with a few egg whites with some spinach and onion, throw it on the skillet, add the tuna (I use an entire…
  • THE fillest breakfast for me has always been some form of oats, especially if I were to add in egg whites. I don't even THINK about food until hours later.
  • Isn't the unsweetened almond milk kinda sweet enough? My opinion though
  • Hi Shawna! If your tummy just needs a bit of toning, then eating very clean and incorporating strength exercises into your routine would be perfect, but if you have some fat to lose, walking does WONDERS!! If you are more up for a challenge, then running may be more fun, but walking always seems to do the trick.

  • Great, thanks for you help
  • Oh my goodness, you look SO great, congratulations!
  • Ha, yeah I actually came across this a few days ago- super helpful, I've been referring to it everyday since. Thanks for this!
  • This is true, more or less,
  • My favorite was having it with cucumbers and tomatoes back in the day...but haven't had it for soooo long and was thinking about buying some soon to replace the greek yogurt I've been used to having (yes to the protein, but nah to the sugar :grumble: ). Saw some great ideas on here!
  • Spinach, strawberries, grapes, peaches, tomatoes, and grilled chicken seasoned with cinnamon and paprika, all topped off with some walnuts and honey. I call it my "Sweetie Salad"
  • ^THIS. Egg whites are amazing if you're looking to up your protein. I'd like to add them into my meals any chance I get, especially into rice, oats, and tuna. Other proteins like greek yogurt, cheese, fish, nuts, and seeds are good too, but remember, egg whites don't have the fat that's often associated with some high…
  • I used to have mine set at TDEE cut amount MINUS about 200 cals so that I could log in/eat back my exercise. Some part of me wanted to hold on to the ability to track calories burned through working out SO BAD. Although that method has not necessarily NOT working, I still thought it would be more accurate to just set it at…
  • You'll be surprised actually how much calories we burn each day, I don't think he meant calories burnt just working out.
  • What you are saying makes sense, so it may work in the short term, but I don't think it'll work in the long run. Eat low carb is nearly impossible, not to mention unhealthy since you won't be getting the nutrients vegetables, fruits, and whole grains have to offer, and it'll probably just make you crazy. This doesn't mean…
  • I totally agree. I feel on days when I was tunnel vision to just calories, and WHAT I ate didn't matter as long as I stuck to the calorie limit, I felt deprived because a) Processed and unhealthy foods tend to be more caloric, so you wouldn't get to eat as much and b) Your body needs nutrition to function and feel "full",…

  • Since you love food, going on a calorie restriction would be miserable (and not work in the long wrong, needless to say), so I'd just work on small changes, like drinking tea instead of soda, for instance. Or instead of completely restricting yourself from your favorite guilty pleasures, limit yourself and cut your…
  • Oh my gosh YESS. I love oats and egg whites. I actually sometimes put in a whole egg in addition to the egg whites, some salt and pepper and ta-da! (sometimes paprika too, which I don't know why, I just like to put paprika into everything...I think I just like saying it, haha). But when I started making oatmeal this way,…
  • I totally agree. If it wasn't for my interest in improving my overall physical health, I don't think I would have had any reason to stop, and working out is THE biggest motivation, especially as a non-smoker when you realize how much easier it an be :) Good job on the exercise and good luck with keeping it up!
  • With that activity level, you should be eating a lot more! Even on rest days with little to no exercise, 900 is way too low. I would listen to your doctor, and see how you can incorporate more healthy calories into your diet. Although you seem already healthy, if you want to lose weight, don't be afraid to increase your…
  • This is SO true. I've known about BMR and the need to eat more for a while now, but I haven't really starting do the research behind it until recently. I've already upped my calorie intake for a while now, but am beginning to realize I can and should up it even more, and it's scary to look at that number. But YES you are…
  • This is the thought that occurred to me as well. Clearly, we burn calories beyond what we "exercise" off, and I'm assuming the TDEE accounts for that? I was going to just set my calorie goal to my BMR and have my exercise increase the net calories, but then aren't we essentially just eating back our exercise calories only…
