  • If you say yes to adding it to the database, you have to add in the cooking instructions as well. I just keep my own recipes to myself. I also use a lot of recipes from places like skinnytaste.com and emilybites.com. For those, the nutrition info is already in the regular database, so you don't have to enter those recipes…
  • I have this one, and for weight purposes, it works like a champ. If I can get my cats to sit still long enough, I can even weigh them without having to weigh me with them first, and then me alone, and then do the math. It has a body fat feature that I don't use. I already know my body fat %, and that scale function is WAY…
  • Bumpitty bump. This is awesome. 10 dozen large eggs for now!
  • All of the above. Cauliflower is SO GOOD roasted until it gets a bit carmelized. Zucchini and yellow squash are really good roasted as well.
  • I used to bring these to work for lunch all the time. The sodium is ridiculous, and I would always need something else along with them - leftover roasted veg, a salad, some fruit, etc. I stopped buying them when I discovered My Fit Foods - pre-prepared single fresh refrigerated healthy meals. I ate a lot of those, and…
  • I keep flip-flopping. It's going to be pouring rain here so I am staying in, cooking, and having a couple of friends over. Totally low-key. But I have stuff for Pimms Cups, a couple bottles of wine, and a bottle of champagne in the fridge. Not sure which way I'll go. Last year I was in San Antonio for NYE and the next…
  • BUMP! Will definitely try this! Chicken salad is one of my all-time faves!
  • I can't help with regard to when to pick them, but they're super easy to cook! I cut them in half lengthwise, scoop out the seeds , and put the halves cut-side down in a baking pan. I put some water in the pan, and roast in the oven at 425 until I can get the tip of a knife through the outer skin. (Watch the water, it may…
  • These used to be my go-to for lunch at work. They're convenient, they taste pretty good, but you know what? They never satisfied me. For awhile I started bringing a salad or some extra veggies on the side, but still. Once I started focusing on eating things that were as minimally processed as possible, they had to go.…
  • I may have found my soulmate.
  • This. I would much rather have the extra few calories because I categorized myself as "lightly active" than whinge about whether or not I should log every little thing I do like cooking, gardening, laundry, cleaning, or walking to the store and back. I only log exercise that is done on purpose. If my HRM wasn't involved,…
  • I second, third, and FOURTH Skinnytaste.com. I'm having the pasta with spicy chicken sausage and butternut squash sauce right now. I also like skinnyms.com. TONS of crock pot recipes.
  • I own Turbo Fire and haven't used it yet! Bought it at the same time I bought ChaLean Extreme. Was gonna do the hybrid calendar but then decided I didn't want EVERYTHING to be new, so I'm just doing CLX now and mixing in running and TJ. I think I'll do the hybrid next. I'm afraid of losing muscle if I don't keep lifting…
  • This, to the letter. I don't see the point of walking or running with other people, either.
  • In the last several months, I've been just cutting back on how much dressing I use. If a serving is 2 tablespoons, I'll just use one tablespoon on a giant salad. Heh, I end up disappointed now when I order salad in a restaurant and forget to have them put the dressing in the side. Olive oil and balsamic vinegar are…
  • Just about everything is SO good roasted! Olive oil, salt and pepper are all you really need. You can play with garlic powder, chili powder, Cajun seasoning, etc. Easy and delicious! Also, mass quantities of baby spinach will wilt right down into soups and stews.
  • Aside from the actual holidays, I've been traveling a lot for the months of November and December. My goal is to maintain until after New Years. So far, so good!
  • I'm by no means vegan, but I know a lot of them. They would likely tell you to try pescaterian or vegetarian first and see if you are able to adapt to that.
  • Skinnytaste.com, Emilybites.com, and skinnyms.com are all good places to start!
  • Interesting question! my initial response would be "Nothing!" I still have whatever I want, once in awhile instead of all the time. I've made a lot of changes in how I cook/prepare things, though. I swapped out sour cream for Greek yogurt awhile back. I don't notice the difference, and there is so much more nutritional…
  • I measure it by the fistful. I count each one as a cup. Two fill my small salad bowls so that's my standard measure. It's so low calorie that its not going to ruin anyone's day if they end up with "too much" lettuce.
  • Why have I never thought about putting it on popcorn? Why have I never thought about keeping it in the freezer? So much knowledge on the forums this evening!
  • This past summer, I came across several "herds" of tiny lizards on the sidewalks of my neighborhood. As you'd approach, they'd haul *kitten* from the grassy area by the curb, across the sidewalk and into a lawn. Didn't matter which street, and this went on for months! So weird and cute. I miss them.
  • Definitely interested to see where this thread goes. I was just looking at the baked marinated tofu at Trader Joe's today and trying to conceptualize a soup.
  • Yep! I go as far as to cook my own beans and chickpeas instead of using canned.
  • I hear 'ya, sister. It's everywhere! Especially fast and restaurant food. And processed stuff like soups, frozen meals, etc.
  • "Free Fridays" keep me sane. It's a rest day from workouts, and the most likely day of the week that I'll end up at a party/dinner/happy hour. I don't log and I don't sweat it. I also don't log on holidays or vacations. I like to enjoy those times without worry. I don't usually "pig out" on Fridays, but I do take it as a…
  • YAY! I am so excited for you! I'm getting there. Maybe half a push up on my toes, and NO tricep pushups... you're doing so well! Way to go!
  • Yep. And... HOTT.
  • I'm pretty sure that my temporary weight gain is all sodium-related. I watch it pretty closely during "normal" times when I'm home to cook and know what I'm eating with any kind of accuracy. I don't even want to know how much sodium I've consumed over the last few days. Currently, I'm guzzling all the water I can so that I…
