  • Today I went to the gym, even though I didn't feel like I had the energy for a workout. 35 minutes on the treadmill, 10 on elliptical, 10 on recumbent bike and once around on the circuit....not as long as I normally work out, but I was there!
  • You did great hanging in there! The exact same thing happened to me the first time I got on an Elliptical....lol! I have recently gone back to the gym after an almost 2 year absence....and a 67 lb weight gain! I used to do an hour on the elliptical, but now 10 min is my limit. I am hoping to increase my time to 15 min next…
  • I'm in!! You did say 1,000 throughout the day? Not just in one exercise session? I can burn over 700 in 1 1/2 hours at the gym, but you burn calories throughout the day doing normal activities. Sooooooooooooooo.....specify, please. I wear a Polar heart monitor while working out, I can wear it during other activities on…
  • When it was still warm, it shredded when I tried slicing it! Lol! But when I used refrigerated roast for sandwhiches, it sliced quite nicely. One tip for shredding pork or parboiled chicken is to place in KitchenAid mixing bowl. Run mixer with mixing paddle for no more than 20 seconds....Voila! Meat is perfectly shredded.…
  • Diegros, the pork roast was approx 2 1/4 lbs.
  • Yes, slow cookers rock!! Especially if it's a day when we have our grandbebes. Lol! And congratulations on your weight loss....you inspire me! :D
  • I just wanted to say that I made the taco cupcakes today for the first time.......and they were a huge success!! Took them to the Super Bowl party at our son's house, and not only was it something different......everyone loved them. One of our daughter-in-laws has to be gluten-free, so I used rice papers instead of wonton…
  • Sounds yummy! I will definitely give these a try.
  • Sugar most definitely matters, whether or not you are a diabetic. Sugar accounts for a lot of calories, i.e..sodas, desserts, breads....and the list goes on. Salad dressing is a common culprit. My weight loss came quicker when I gave up regular sodas! Anything high in carbs will turn to sugar quickly in your system; and…
  • Hi! Welcome to MFP. I am also new to this group, and I see that the others have already answered your question! My sister and I have noticed that, on some food items in MFP, the calorie count is inaccurate....a litlte lowl So, just to keep ourselves honest, we also use the calorie counter on Sparkpeople.com. It's just…
  • Hello Jessica! You may add me if you wish. It would be great to be able to encourage each other, and share our triumphs & "speed bumps"! (Hopefully, more triumphs than bumps in our journey.) I'm 60 198.6 CW 150 GW 5'1 1/2" :glasses:
  • Charro beans? That's new to me! I would love to try them....are they found at most grocery stores?
  • How about some home-baked corn tortilla chips? Very easy & quick to make, and you can add whatever seasonigs you like to the chps. You can count out chips for yourself....and the boys can snack on the rest!
