I air pop popcorn and spritz it with Parkay Spray...though it isn't truly 0 calorie / 0 fat, etc, it is much lower than butter and tastes just like real butter to me. That and sea salt and I'm good to go. I just read it is about 1 cal per spray...I use maybe 6-8 sprays with the 8 cups of popcorn I make for the kids and I.

My understanding is that it takes up to 72 hours for starvation mode to kick in. That is why fasting is acceptable given you don't fast for two consecutive days.

If you are working out, you need to fuel your body. If you have been in starvation mode in the past, you are definitely eating too little.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I come home late and can slip into eating like a maniac. The biggest thing that has helped me is having the MFP app on my droid. Now I can keep up with my intake anywhere.

I would imagine you stretch out your caloric goal over the period you are awake. That way you are churning your metabolism. Also, staying up doesn't let your body go into the natural "fasting" you go through when you sleep....double wammy.

I suffer from this as well. I am an avid outdoorsman and this AM in my normal attire I was freezing to the point I couldn't stand it. Last year, given equivelant temps, I was comfortable. I find that I am also turning up the tstat a lot more. What I saved in food will go to the utility bills...

You can sew darts in the belt line and tuck that extra 2-4 inches inside the waist. It's not hard to do...I'm a guy and I accomplished this. It saved all my 36 pants from Goodwill....but be warned...I am about to go to 30" pants and you cannot get 6" to hide very well at that point.

Walmart sells $1 tape measures in the sewing department. A construction tape measure does NOT work and they are cold and noisy.

I went from 9PM Sunday until 9AM today (36 hours). In that amount of time I had the biggest frickin headache ever and drank probably 3 gallons of water, but was never hungry. There are a ton of benefits from a one-day fast. Your body uses the energy it would spend on digestion for repair and cleansing. All the crap we consume with our food due to processing, et al are expelled. I woke up this morning having not read your post OP, and I am fasting with you...funny that it started that way!

I weigh myself daily, every morning when I wake up and before I shower (after I use the restroom). I have seen fluctuations, but the trend has been downward. I know this is a bad habit, but the scale is right there when I wake up. I operate my digital scale before any other electronic device in my house.

You have listed a home banana peeled....etc. I am just curious seeing as I eat this constantly, but isn't a regular raw/fresh banana more like 110 calories? I'm not trying to bust your bubble, but I want to make sure I am counting right.
