How often should I weight myself?

Good morning all!

Should "weigh ins" be done weekly or monthly? I do not think that I can weigh myself monthly....that is too long to wait!!! I know weighing myself in the morning first thing and with the same type of clothing is best, right?

    I do my weigh-ins once a week on the same day. I think once a week gives you a good view of exactly how you're doing, whereas once a month doesn't show you "this was a bad week" and such, and therefore doesn't help you learn.

    HAPPY HUMP DAY!! I'm an ex-slave to the scale...used to weigh myself 2x's a day...made me NUTZ! :huh: so now I weigh in once...ok...twice a week. Once on Monday and today...hump day...woooo...Monday's just feels right first thing after i relieve myself and i strip down and get on the scale...and then on Wednesday cuz well..I think watching BL the night before just gives me the urge to weigh in first thing again on Wednesday...:laugh: strange...I know...but hey..it works for me.     I do mine once or twice a week, before eating, after going to the bathroom, and without clothes. But really, its all personal preference. I definitely think you can weigh too much, and that tends to make people obsessive.

  • I weigh myself daily, every morning when I wake up and before I shower (after I use the restroom). I have seen fluctuations, but the trend has been downward. I know this is a bad habit, but the scale is right there when I wake up. I operate my digital scale before any other electronic device in my house.

    I weight myself everyday as well. I only post it when it shows a loss. My weight changes quite a bit day to day. It would suck if I only weighed myself once a week and it just happened to be the lowest weight one week and the highest weight the next. I would be super discouraged. Seeing it everyday and taking the lowest weight for the week works pretty well for me.
  • I weigh and record my weight every day, but I don't stress over it. When I go to the reports and see a downward trend, I'm happy. :)
