to achieve a goal of losing 40lbs in 4 months you would need to create a daily calorie deficit of approximately 1,667. Thats a large number! Most people who work in a sedentary job burn around 1,800 a day so you would need to burn 1,270 calories at the gym everyday if you were taking in 1,400 cals. On days that you didn't…

i quit smoking and lost 45lbs... i lead a more active lifestyle and i dont snack anymore then i did when i did smoke i recommend reading Allen Carr;s "The Easy Way To Quit Smoking" it helped me and has helped a number of people I know, its a great book and it really works! Best of Luck! But believe me quitting smoking can…

chocolate milk is one of the best recovery drinks you can have after a workout. youre lifting weights right? http://ca.askmen.com/sports/bodybuilding_200/247_fitness_tip.html check that out

weight is an arbitrary measure... its just a number. start exercising and eating right and you will look and feel better, your clothes will fit better and life will become better! i know from experience :) dont be afraid of the number, you need it to see where youve come from and to measure your success! the beautiful…

between 4 to 6 weeks you will see big results as long as you stick to it the results are the same for everybody ;)

youre looking for a quick fix... an easy way out. why do you think you have continued to relapse and have not sustained any weight loss for an extended period?? i read your profile and your dream of becoming a navy seal. you need to eat healthy food and exercise 6 days a week. counting calories, fasting, starving…

probably the most incorrect post ive ever seen on this site, LOL your heart seems to be in the right place, but THIS IS THE WORST ADVICE DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS POST PEOPLE!! starvation mood DOES exist if you are eating less then 1200 cal for women or 1500 cal for men your body will store its body fat because it thinks…
-
your post is very opinionated and unfortunately this time your opinion is wrong. people would be wise to do the exact opposite of what youre recommending

if youre trying to lose weight then you shouldnt eat within 3 hours of bed. if theres nothing in your stomach your body will burn fat at this time instead of food. burned fat = weight loss ;) ps. weight is such a dumb measure. use how you look and feel as a measure of when youre doing things right. or bmi weight fluctuates…

follow up - i meant AT LEAST 1500 cals / day for a man AT LEAST 1200 cals for a woman

you better be eating AT LEAST 1500cal per day or your body will go into starvation mood. (aka. it will think there's a famine coming up and it will store all your current body fat instead of burning it off) if you stick with a diet rich in lean proteins and vegetables and you continue to exercise the excess weight will…

if youre worried about muscle soreness and recovery then the absolute best time to have a protein shake is within 1 hour after working out. you also need to replenish carbs during this hour so its a good idea to throw some fruit into the shake. maybe a banana. there is a 1 hour window here when your body is depleted of…

It's easier said then done, but try not to pay too much attention to the scale. The most important thing you said in your post was, "I am trying to look on the bright side - I feel better, have more energy" if you feel better and have more energy that is a sign from your body that youre doing something right! the beautiful…
-
i dont think you should be taking your calories lower then 1300. you'll put your body into starvation mode and it will store everything you eat as fat. just make sure the calories youre eating are healthy ones, especially if you wont be working out
-
add in some exercise, cardio and resistance training... keep up with the diet. temptations arent worth the health issues, be strong!

hey, i have crohns to. i was diagnosed when i was 13 (28 now). i had some brutal years at the beginning and actually had to get some surgery and part of my intestine removed :( but!! i just did tony hortons power 90 program and am now doing p90x and my stomach has never felt better! exercising 6 days a week and eating…
