It seems you are correct. Just read a blog article. Hrm/calories burned are in fact not part of resistance/strength training. I stand corrected. Cheers.

It's not why I'm lifting - I just kept the hrm on after I did the kettlebell workout to see what the total calorie burn was at the end of the workout. Is the calorie readout on the hrm likely to be giving false readings??

I agree. My treadmill calorie readings were WAY out compared to my heart rate monitor. Glad I bought one!

I upped by treadmill for my interval training to 8.9MPH / +3 incline this week. Just the incline alone made a big difference to the workout.
