As a moderator do you disagree that telling an OP who is struggling to lose and not weighing/measuring her food to add calorie dense foods to her diet just to hit an inaccurate (since shes not measuring) number is poor advice that should be disputed by other members?

I am not saying peanut butter is a "bad" food. You are missing the point entirely. The FACT is telling a morbidly obese person who is not measuring and weighing their food to add calorie dense foods they are not already eating is BAD ADVICE.
-
Yeah it's so rare it makes the news when it happens. OP admittedly doesn't measure/weigh her food so she's definitely understand counting. Peanut butter is bad advice in this thread. That is a fact.

How many people who are 100 lbs overweight have had organ failure from eating too little on a diet?
-
This isn't about peanut butter specifically. Telling someone who is 100 lbs overweight and successfully losing weight to add a calorie dense food to their diet for no reason other than to hit a number on this app is bad advice.
-
Telling someone 100 lbs overweight to eat peanut butter is such a *kitten* joke. OP - It's ok to go under 1200 some days. Most people measure poorly and under-count, so you likely are eating more than you think, pair that with the fact that you will go over some days as well and you have nothing to worry about.
-
You're a *kitten* adult. Put the vegetables in your mouth, chew, and swallow.
-
Why are you starting in 2 days? Eating less doesn't require any advance preparation.

Here's some white space, use it next time to make some paragraphs so people can actually read what you wrote: .

Sounds like a question for your gym instructor. If you want feedback here will get better responses on specific exercises and what they are good/not good for in the Fitness & Exercise section http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/fitness-and-exercise Also to your last point, there is no one exercise or set of…

For the coffee sugar and cream, this is all that matters, they are no different than any other calories. Regarding beer and wine, there are some sources that suggest that alcohol inhibits fat lost (links below) but many people here are successful while still including alcohol in their diets. If you continue to drink and…

"Don't eat after 7 PM" Not really helpful when you get out of work at 7:30.

No. You're the first. Welcome.

They're called "vibration platforms" or "vibration plates". They're often founds in stupid people's basements or in gyms that want their cardio space filled with some machines that stay empty so they can always claim there's no wait.

I was constantly "sabotaging myself" even though I "wanted" weight loss, until I treated my depression and anxiety. If you truly can't control yourself there may be an underlying reason you need to identify and treat.

I think most people are picturing this: but OP is likely talking about this: Both are useless for weight loss.

I think this is blown out of proportion. People get travelers' diarrhea from eating differently and they blame it on the water. I haven't been to guatamala specifically but I've drank iced drinks and water all over central america with no ill effects.

This makes me really, really sad.

When I travel I eat whatever I want but in a reasonable quantity and don't count/log. I don't continue to lose, but I've never gained anything but water weight on vacation.

There are a lot of weird assumptions being made here. - There is no way to know if OP is using too much or too little oil since he doesn't say what he's cooking and how he's cooking it. - It is almost certain OP is not deep frying with only 4 tbsp of oil. He is probably sauteing, pan frying or maybe shallow frying.…

I never really look at the salad trays in my supermarkets' deli sections. I just assume they are full of potato salads. Thanks for the post, I'll take a look next time I'm shopping.

Mexico's Independence Day holiday is Sept 16, so no worries there. Cinco de Mayo originated among Mexican Americans to celebrate freedom and democracy during the American civil war, and also among Mexicans is celebrated as a commemoration of the Mexican defeat of the French army, which was invading in order to set up a…

dmen is 100% right. Google "Starvation mode myth", besides 95% of the time when people say their not losing it's because they are eating much more than they realize, because they are not measuring and weighing everything. It's not helpful to people who are clearly overeating to suggest they eat more.

If you're getting a post-vomit feeling in your throat it's likely acid reflux. In some people this can be triggered by dairy fats. Does the greek yogurt have a higher fat content than the other yogurts you eat?
