  • @KareF - I'll be thinking of you and positive thoughts for your biopsy results. Nice that you got to do a little run :) @snha - sorry to hear about the tendinitis! @patrikc333 - ah, yeah the HR part of it seems fine, thanks for the help. I'm thinking it's what @7lenny7 said and it's only counting the calories…
  • That makes sense! I should just disconnect Garmin Connect from everything then. My last HRM also would give me a higher calorie burn than Fitbit (I have the Fitbit One so it knows nothing about my heart rate). Calorie burn for running is estimated by weight, gender, and distance right? So my Fitbit would be more accurate.…
  • Thanks for the help everyone! :) I checked the website and it has my correct height/weight, but maybe it's not on the watch so I'll check that. I have a fitbit too and I usually use it for my calorie burns from runs anyway (and it says 297 calories for that time frame), I just noticed it because it was so low and knew it…
  • Ok let's see if I can get this to work. @moyer566 - yes I wet the contacts and it seemed to be reading my HR just fine. @patrikc333 - If the picture doesn't work my avg HR was 166 Here's a picture of my heart rate for the duration of the run Hopefully those pictures aren't too big. I'm on my phone right now so I can't…
  • So after posting my goal I figured if I was going to go running today I had better get going. Got my new Garmin HRM all set up and went for my first run with it. I was hoping for 5 miles, but I still have this upper respiratory cold so I ended up doing 2.5 - I'm happy as any running is better than no running and this is…
  • Didn't hit my goal of 65 miles last month, so will try again this month :)
  • Haha, that's awesome! @MrsKGrady - nice picture! I love the snow, but I don't know if I'd want to run in it ;) @kristinegift - I get foot cramps with both the bike and the elliptical @skippygirlsmom - Yay for you and Skip!! Definitely didn't hit my goal this month. Would have gotten much closer or barely…
  • I was really hoping that with running today and Monday I would hit my goal for November - and then I woke up with a terrible cold this morning :( I'll see what I'm up to doing on Monday (traveling tomorrow so that's not an option), but I likely won't hit my goal. Oh well @Orphia - I'm asking for new shoes and winter gear…
  • I'm so sorry to hear this! Are they going to scan your or do some sort of skin check to make sure there isn't more? I'm glad to hear your doctor is positive about it @_nikkiwolf_ - ouch! Happy it's not broken and hopefully the pain from the prodding will wear off soon :)
  • I still have another 1.5 pages to read through, but I just have to say that when I first saw @patrikc333 ask about streak runners I wasn't sure if we were talking about people who run everyday or people who run without clothing... ;)
  • Hey all. Been gone again for several days. This time I have a better excuse ;) I was doing a bunch of housework, packing, and then traveling. My Wednesday started at 0530 in the morning when I woke up - had my first flight at 3:30 Japan time - one layover in Korea and then landed in Seattle at 11:00 am PST (11hrs total in…
  • Haven't been on the boards in the past week. Had a huge inspection at work early last week and then some personal stuff happened in addition to a busy work week. Now I have >300 posts and 12 pages to read through :o I only ran a couple of times this past week and only have 11.2 miles to add to my ticker. *Sigh* sometimes…
  • MFP SW: 178 Challenge SW: 165.8 - some is water weight, I was 164 a few days prior Week 1: 163.8 - lost the water weight and maybe a little bit of actual weight Week 2: 163.4 - I am going to try to be better about weighing absolutely everything to make sure I am in a deficit Week 3: 162.2 - Had a woosh :) Week 4: 164.0 -…
  • Hope you feel better! And the doctors visit goes well :)
  • That's what worries me about getting a headlamp - I'm really sensitive to motion and getting motion sick so I worry that the bouncing from running with a light will make me motion sick. But I'm going to have to try it soon with the way my work is going. I may have to start running really early in the morning. Got 6 miles…
  • @louubelle16 - Awesome job beating your PB by a full minute! I bet that feels great @Ohhim - Great job at the triathlon! That's nice that they print out your times like that @ddmom0811 - I haven't run any Disney races but I know people who have. They haven't had experiences like that that I've heard of. Would have been…
  • Oh, ok, I know who he is. Mostly, I'm just really bad with names, haha. Characters and faces I remember, but tend to forget the actor/actress's names ;)
  • Good luck on Sunday!
  • You should totally complain! ;) But awesome job!! Haha, I tell people the same thing! I can always put more clothes on, but I can only take so many off before I'm breaking the law ;) Oh good - hearing you say you can walk with limited pain makes me feel better that there's nothing broken. Likely a bad ligament…
  • Not a great run for me today. 7 miles was the plan, and I did get it done. Complete opposite of yesterday. Just felt tired the whole run and my legs felt clunky - like they were going clunk, clunk, clunk down the road. Ended up walking quite a bit during the second half, but I finished and now it's done. :)
  • @skippygirlsmom - Skip sounds like she has such a personality  I love hearing about the wacky things she does (and I mean wacky in a good way) Love your story about running in central park with Tom Selleck! @Stoshew71 - I don't know if I'm still in the young category at age 30, but I do know who Tom Selleck is and…
  • Thanks. You are too! We seem to be at similar points :)
  • Wow! I've never had to deal with magpies and it looks like I never want to! I like birds, but that's scary I'm super happy with my run today. This week is a cut back week which is good because it happened to be scheduled during a week my back decided to hurt a bit. Got some medication from my provider yesterday so I felt…
  • @ddmom0811 - glad you're not hurt. hope you don't end up sore later! :) @Elise4270 - I've never heard of that either, though I haven't actually run that many 10k's honestly. Hope you get an answer soon @Somebody_Loved - haha, that's a nice reaction to have about your legs. I hope to have that some day :) @JoRocka - I have…
  • I love my fitbit! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine :)
  • 3 miles of hills today. Felt bad for the first 0.5-1 mile, but then started to get into a rhythm and felt much better - that tends to be how things go for me. Really happy with my time - 35 minutes overall. My first mile was 11:11 (before the hills started), which is the fastest mile for me in several months. Not a PR (9…
  • "Look Mom, I'm flying!" @kareF - I've run/walked a couple of HMs. I find that if you pick a race that also has a marathon, the time limit tends to be higher and gave me more time to finish without worrying. I had one that was a set amount of time to run, then walk, then run, walk, etc. The other I just did it on…
  • Yeah I do drink the carbonated beverages too. I usually try to balance drinking enough to help with my stomach but not so much I'm getting up to pee too much ;) I think I can do better. I usually use traveling as an excuse to eat more - "I have to for my stomach/motion sickness." I'm not going to allow myself to do that…
  • A lot of them allow enough time for people to walk. My Mom has MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and walks the 5k - she's slow and she usually finishes with plenty of time before the "cut off." I'm a little worried about Thanksgiving too. I'm traveling the day before and it'll take me 14+ hrs to get to where I'm going. With motion…
