Samblanken, I still plan to buy the fitbit, but I downloaded MapMyRun and it's helping me to "gadgetize" my walking - now I can put the fitbit on a list of things I want for my birthday or something :) I think the fitbit will be most beneficial bc I think it will help me increase my daily activity. That's what the active…

Well OK, yes that has something to do with it, I hate to spend $3 a run when I could make the same thing for him for probably 50cents. OK so the runner GETS the gel pack to the point that he consumes it. How does he GET it there? My hubs has a little pouch that he carries his. When he's finished, he rolls the spent…

Bottom line is, some people enjoy their libations! And there's nothing wrong with that as long as you are being honest, you can still lose weight. Or so I hope, lol

I tried metformin and all it did was upset my stomach. I have a huge bottle of that stuff in my medicine cabinet left over from over 10 years ago. It took one year of trying and two cycles of clomid (along with the horror stories of going to several doctors who took money but did nothing to help) to get pregnant. Clomid…

If you are having hair loss I highly recommend seeing an endo to test for hypothyroidism. I have been diagnosed with: PCOS hypoglycemia hypothyroidism gestational diabetes I am also gluten and dairy intolerant and also can't really tolerate legumes or soy. I have seen numerous docs including endos and a gastro but what…

wow Dope that's AWESOME!

I allow myself a beer (gluten free bc I can't have gluten anymore) when my caloric intake is below my target. It's a little treat for myself for doing well the whole day but my beer is much lower in cals than yours. However you probably lose alot more in exercise than I do bc I just started this process about 6 weeks ago…

Wonderful!

Thanks Mommy. I tried it once and lost my work, gonna go back later and try again though. It looks like the best choice so far!

Brian, I kind of feel like if he'd take the honey and molasses route, it's a bit more natural. But who am I to judge HIM, when I'm overweight and he's in great shape?!

I just read your food diary and what I see is that you should eat "real" food instead of fake stuff. Just doing that will add enough calories to your diet that you should be OK. So basically stick with the same plan, just switch back to real foods. Real yogurt, real organic preserves with real sugar (not fake sweetener or…

My husband is a long-distance runner and I tried to get him to let me make a gel of honey, molasses, and lite salt. He was not impressed with the taste and sticks with the premade gels. But he stomachs the premades just fine. He also ran with gatorade in his camelback and ate a candybar prior. He has a stomach of steel! Oh…

I'm not afraid of the fat at ALL, but I am afraid of the calories! However I'm kind of a proponent of eating more fat to reduce overall calories consumed. So it's a double edged sword when you are keeping a food diary. It kind of blew up my diary for the day. But yesterday I did NOT meet my calories so if I go over today I…

I agree with all the others, what a wonderful gift you will provide! I also never want to be pregnant again, but I was not healthy when I was pregnant, I had gestational diabetes with both and was insulin dependent. You go girl!

wow, thanks! So if I were to walk into my gym and ask for a personal trainer, how would I know if he's good or bad? I've had three personal trainers in the past and to tell you the truth, none of them came off as particularly great. I think that's because I didn't know how to ask for the "good" one. so how do I find one?
-
I'd like to start weight training but I've done it before and I always injure something and quit. Do you have a recommendation of how to START getting into shape for weight training?
-
I don't know how. I've got some friends added and I see posts from them but it only shows on my profile and I'm confused. I think I'm missing something.

Only works temporarily IF at all, people in my area are doing it bc there's someone doing the at home distribution. I know several women who did it, "lost" inches the first wrap and then gained them right back, but future wraps did not work at all. Don't waste your money unless you need the slimming effect for ONE night.…

Yes the orgreenic needs to be seasoned too and I understand your frustration. I KNOW all these other people are telling the truth, they have somehow managed to get a real coating on their pans. I keep screwing mine up bc I use it for EVERYTHING. Plus sometimes I over-heat and sometimes I under-heat. I'm very consistent at…

capricious I just wanted to make sure noone thought I was trying to sell something!

Good point on the oil and I didn't reach my target yesterday. That's why I was a bit generous with the safflower oil (I read somewhere it's good for peeps with PCOS so that's what I use for things like this). I just forgot how many calories! But thanks, you are right at least it's healthy!
-
I use it everyday for everything. This does NOT work for me. I just need a new pan for stir fry and making gravy
-
Yes I need to get one of these! I'm "over" the cast iron thing!
-
So the pan is a lodge, 14 inch cast iron skillet. The old fashioned kind. I can get a good seasoning on it but I often ruin it with veggies or doing a gravy for the kids. BC when I use some wine or orange juice the acid just cuts the coating right off. I can't seem to get a really properly seasoned skillet. I've had this…

Totally agree with the strength training and that you need to eat more. Eat healthy, but more. Make sure you're getting enough protein and stay off the scales for awhile to let your metabolism stabilize.

My Ah-Ha moment: I was stuck on the couch watching TV with vertigo. For years I've let a pound creep on here and there and just figured one of these days I'll decide to lose the excess weight. When I had vertigo, I realized that I had been ignoring myself and NOW I CAN'T get up. I made a decision that as soon as my body…

I used MapMyRun today but I'm still working out the kinks. My phone wasn't fully charged so it shut off early but from the info it recorded, I really like it. I heard that RunKeeper is really good too.

BHAHAHAHA! I have no advice but thanks for giving me a laugh!
