That's it for me too. If I'm too carb heavy, I'll need to eat over my calories or I'll be too hungry to sleep at the end of the day.
I've definitely lost some inches, and my progress pictures show a change, but the scale hasn't moved at all. Like I said, I'm not a numbers person and want to go off how I look and feel, but I definitely am getting discouraged
If you're losing inches, and you can see a difference, don't worry about it. My…

All my workouts are good workouts, because I could have just sat on the couch.

I "log" everyday on vacation, even if it's a token entry. I like to keep the habit, if nothing else. That said, I've had cell service each time.

When was the last time he had a physical? If he is getting "too thin", his doctor should tell him. Some people are naturally lean.

Body weight or weighted pistol squats, guaranteed to burn dat bootie!

I'd also suggest maybe adding Pilates to the routine, if you have an instructor in your area. I find it's really helped with my lifting as I gain flexibility and work out imbalances. Be aware though, forms of exercise can be like "religions", and your Pilates instructor might look down on strength training. My instructor,…

I like to mix protein powder in with plain Greek yogurt, that'll give you a great protein boost without too many carbs.

I find if I eat too carb heavy, I'll go over my calories to stay satiated.

No, but I was on a high school game show. HYE danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

Like others, I recommend just going cold turkey. I think one has to deprogram themselves into thinking coffee is a sweet beverage. You certainly have far less tolerance for crap coffee. Having said that, I did put some 18% cream and real sugar in coffee yesterday, but I did try it black first. As well, it was a reset day…

I'd suggest doing some research on goitergenic foods. My wife is low thyroid too, and she found cutting out goitergenic foods like peanuts and cabbage have been helping her in NSV type ways too, such as lot better hair and nails. Her nails would break all the time. Her body temp is more normal now too. As always, YMMV.

Like others have said, that was yesterday, dial it back in and don't look back. The negative feelings surrounding it are way more harmful than what you actually ate. I usually don't "fall off the wagon", I choose to "step off the wagon" for special events, etc. It may sound a little pedantic, but if you plan for it there's…

Here's my take: Fat friends, etc. negative - Your success is making them feel inadequate, their problem. Not fat friends, etc. negative - Your success is eroding their secret feeling of superiority, their problem. Your hubby: How YOU doin???? ;)

It's been my experience overall that people's comments like that are a reflection of what they think of themselves. Maybe some people are feeling inadequate about themselves because you've done something they haven't, or in the case of the friend who's 10 lbs. lighter, maybe she's losing a secret sense of superiority.

I highly suggest adding pilates one day a week. I found that strength training was actually increasing my body imbalances, and pilates is fixing that. For the record, I'm a 50 y.o. male. For the o.p.: My wife also had plantar fasciitis, pilates and melt balls helped her immensely.

I work out with a gal who throws around weights that would kill most guys, and most women would kill to look like her. The truth is that women don't have the hormones to get "hench", hell most guys don't without help. And the female bodybuilders you see go through all sorts of stuff to look like that ON THE DAY THEY…

I second the New Rules series by Rachael and Alwyn Cosgrove. Look for somewhere that offers HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) You get lifting AND cardio in one shot, and most people see results in 3 days/week at one hour per session (including warm up).

I would suggest picking up the Alwyn and Racheal Cosgrove book: http://www.amazon.com/New-Rules-Lifting-Supercharged-Muscle-Building-ebook/dp/B008MG42YO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397582134&sr=8-1&keywords=alwyn+cosgrove They have a number in the NROL (New Rules of Lifting) series. Don't let the "lifting" part fool you,…

Just make sure what you have is "good pain". By that, I mean a muscle type soreness, like you may feel with the flu. What you DON'T want is sharp, shooting pain which may be an injury. Warm baths and stretching helps. So do NSAIDS (aspirin, etc.)

Wire pulling lubricant - buy it at Home Depot.

My advice: Toss the scale and get a tape measure (or keep a reference pair of pants just for trying fit.) I've had months where my measurements dropped but my weight stayed constant. This especially applies if you're resistance training.

I highly recommend the Alwyn/Rachael Cosgrove books. Specifically New Rules of Lifting for Women: http://www.amazon.com/The-New-Rules-Lifting-Women/dp/1583333398/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386097644&sr=8-1&keywords=new+rules+of+lifting+women
