  • Hope everyone's injuries start feeling better!! They canceled my 5k on Saturday, so I'm going to have to wait for my 5k race debut... I'm currently spending all my free time studying for an exam I'm taking, so I think I might wait until after I'm done with that (hopefully the end of August) to sign up for one. Week 4, Day…
  • Week 3, Day 3 tonight. I felt like I was going to die by the end of the first mile, but somehow managed to push through for just shy of 3 more. The heat is really making me wonder if I am made to be a runner. For the last week, I just haven't enjoyed it as much... kind of makes me sad.
  • Week 3, Day 2 tonight. It was rainy and windy, which was AMAZING. Run my first 5k a week from Saturday... getting nervous.
  • As everyone else has said, you look fantastic and very happy. Congratulations!!
  • Week 3, Day 1 tonight. Run was absolutely miserable due to the heat, but I stuck with it and finished. Seriously thinking I might have to get up early to do my runs, but that's only possible until mid-August. Not sure what to do. Bravo for everyone getting in so many weekly miles!! Timeasterday ran more miles in one week…
  • Welcome to the group!!
  • Congrats to everyone completing their monthly distance goals!! Week 2, Day 3 tonight. Still humid here, but not as bad as it was a couple nights ago. Next week is only an increase of 2 minutes per run segment, so don't think it will be a problem. I bought a safety vest and tonight was the first night I ran with it. I could…
  • Nice job! Congrats on the new PBs! :drinker: Welcome!! Week 2, Day 2 tonight for me. I felt sluggish the entire time and it showed in my pace, but I still finished. I wasn't sure why I felt so awful until I got home and my phone said we're at 49% humidity. I mean, what the eff? I live in Utah, not Florida.
  • Thanks to everyone who responded. I read through all the PDFs on RunnersWorld.com and feel like they have some pretty good info, so I'm going to go with that information for now and see where I end up.
  • Week 2, Day 1 tonight. I didn't realize my phone GPS wasn't tracking my run until I hit the end of the first 15 minute run and hadn't heard the 1 mile notification. I ended up having to restart my phone, which restarted my C210k app. Once everything was back up and working properly, I decided to run through the 5 minute…
  • Week 1, Day 3 tonight. I was dragging *kitten* the entire time, but still managed to finish. I think it is mostly due to running earlier than usual - it was still 84 degrees outside when I went. Ick. Will see what Week 2 has to offer this week....
  • I am a member of Planet Fitness and it serves my needs. At the location I go to, the personal trainer will actually work you out or give you a personalized workout plan (instead of just holding classes that talk about different muscle groups like it says on their site) for free, so that has been a huge money saver for me.…
  • Thanks for all the welcomes!! :blushing: Week 1, Day 2 tonight. Perfect example of garbage in, garbage out... part of my reward for achieving my first 25 lbs lost goal this week was that I could have three (ice cold... mmmmm...) cans of Mountain Dew. Now, a normal person might spread those out over a period of time. Me? I…
  • New around these parts. I just finished C25k two days ago and now I've moved onto a B210k program. Finished Week 1, Day 1 tonight... looking forward to the next run.
  • Week 9, Day 3 tonight. I have come to the end of my C25k journey. Found out I'm running between 13:40 and 13:45 per mile, so hopefully I'll be able to get under 13 minutes per mile before my first race. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all their support and kind words. Best of luck to all of you.
  • Week 9, Day 2 tonight - only one more run and I'm done with the program. No issues tonight at all, even with running an extra 6 minutes on top of the 30. If you'd ask me 9 weeks ago if I thought I'd be running 36 minutes non-stop in 9 weeks, I'd have laughed in your face... but here I am.
  • I have been running around 9:30 PM after eating dinner at around 6 PM. I haven't really adjusted my diet yet, as I was trying to figure out what was causing the issue by seeing what patterns I can see on the days I have stomach issues. I'm considering running in the mornings, since I wouldn't have had anything to eat since…
  • Week 9, Day 1 tonight. I had really bad stomach issues again, but I was able to finish the run. Only 2 more runs before I'm done with the program. I'm going to only track the run portion of my last run, so that I can see what my true pace is. I'm thinking it is right around 14:00/mile, so nothing too impressive. I'm hoping…
  • I used and loved Runkeeper for years, but I recently switched because it doesn't support my Bluetooth HRM. It does support the Polar Bluetooth HRM, but I did some research and decided not to get that one. I tried both iCardio and Endomondo as replacements - even paid for both - and decided on Endomondo. The only thing I…
  • Week 8, Day 2 tonight. Enjoyed the run and didn't have any problems finishing it. Felt fine the whole time. Only one more 28 minute run before the final week. I won't be at 3.1 miles in 30 minutes, though, so I think I'm going to start running by distance instead of time until I do my first 5k in July. After that, I'll…
  • Week 8, Day 1 tonight. I FINALLY finished the run portion, but had to cut the cool down short. I'm hoping I figure out what in my diet is causing stomach issues when I run, because I really want to be able to transition to the C210k. I'll be sad if the most I can safely ever run without having to stop home is 25 minutes. :(
  • Congratulations on finishing the first week! You have taken the first step to a healthier you and that is something you should absolutely be proud of. :drinker:
  • Attempted Week 8, Day 1 again tonight. More stomach issues. The fitness tracker I use to track my runs has an option to add tags, so I'm going to tag the days I have stomach issues and try to figure out a pattern. So freaking frustrating, because I know I could have finished it.
  • You should be so proud of yourself. Congratulations on all your success and best of luck to you in the future.
  • Week 8, Day 1 tonight. Only ran 22 of the 28 minutes, due to stomach issues. So sad. :( I really feel like I could have gone the whole 28 minutes... sigh. Next time, I got this shiz. :) Gonna start paying more attention to my diet, I guess, as it seems what you eat the day before and the day of the run is what causes…
  • Week 7, Day 2 tonight. I'm going to have to adjust my route on Week 8 to allow for the extra 3 minutes of running. One question - when people say they've "graduated" from the program, I know it means that they've done 3.1 miles. My questions is whether it is 3.1 miles during the run portion only? Or is the total distance,…
  • Congratulations to a fellow Utahn! Stand tall, walk proud, wear shorts... you've earned it. :)
  • Congratulations! That's awesome! You should be insanely proud of yourself for sticking with it and seeing it through to the end.
  • Week 6, Day 2 tonight. Wasn't too bad, but it seemed a lot harder than it should have been after running 20 minutes non-stop last week!
