  • My husband and I eat organic diet, we try to stay about 80% organic on all food. It is EXPENSIVE, which everyone knows. I feel it would be wrong of me to preach to everyone and say you must eat ONLY organic food. It is very personal choice and also everyone has different financial priorities. Again, it is very expensive to…

  • Hi Not sure if anyone mentioned this to you but you might want to add under diary setting for nutritions Sodium and Sugar intakes. Right now you have protein, fat, carbs and fiber. Sodium and Sugar are very important to watch out as well. If you diet is high in sodium your body might retain the water. Cheers!

  • My husband is in the same shoes as you are. He is a healthy eater and naturally lean build. However he would like to gain 10lb as well. He uses MFP app on his iPhone. It has setting as to how many calories he needs to eat a day in order to gain weight/1lb So he just follows that. Its a challenge for him because although he…
  • Ok thanks for clarifying. You will be fine. I suggested this to another member who is doing C25K. If you feel like out of breath and strength to run ... maybe take a longer recovery time ..add 1-2 minutes to walking time and then resume to complete the run. It definitely helped me!
  • The conscious decisions like you made today ... should make you very very proud of yourself! Cheers!
  • I have completed week 7 of C25K so I am waiting for streets to clean up a bit to start my week 8... However I began from week one not 4. Tips: It helped me with breathing to keep my posture straight and run at slower pace rather than taking off faster. Remember you are building endurance not speed at this point in the…

  • This is a copy from some other post that I replied about food shopping list. Some food items depends on the planned recipes but the ones that normally make their way to our cart are: From Trader Joe's Organic chicken breast Uncured Turkey bacon (30 cal per one link and there are total of 8 links per package) Smoked Salmon…
  • Hi! I have completed 7 weeks of Couch25k and I KNOW it is hard and those last 5 min seems like forever and very very hard. As another fellow beginner runner these helped me to completed my runs maybe you will find them useful but do whats comfortable for you. Do you run outside or on the treadmill? In the beginning when it…
  • When I began Couch25K running program I would get really tired after each run but now I feel like it gives me energy for the whole day! I am addicted to running...never thought I am going to love it but I do now :) (coming from a person who couldn't run with ease just 1.5 min without getting out of breath and now I can run…
  • I use and like Stevia... but if you don't have it available in your local store I guess Truvia or Splenda will be better than other artificial sweeteners. As long as you make better dietary choice you are moving forward to a better health.

  • I don't know if its the right way to do it but when I eat out I try to find similar ingredients in MFP database so lets say your sandwich is 2 pieces of whole wheat bread, 2 slices of ham, 1 slice of swiss cheese etc so I would find what each of them and use that...and sometimes there are many choices listed, I always use…
  • I always ate healthy, balanced food and by that I mean I just never had craving for junk food or sweets. I do love deserts but I never was addicted to them. However, eating healthy could still lead you to overeating :) that is why I made a decision to count my calories and so far it works wonders. Does perfect body and…
  • Although I do most of my food shopping at Trader Joe's I do like Whole Foods as they offer larger variety of organic products...Whole Foods became a big corporation and what happened unfortunately was going to happen eventually. Very sad. More reasons to support your local farmers!
