Here's some good info on protein and vegetarian/vegan diets: http://www.veganhealth.org/articles/protein

I got really bad fatigue when I was drinking a lot of water and not eating enough salt. If your electrolytes are out of balance you can feel pretty crappy.

Oh sweetie, pop in cardio 3 and give it a quick skim. Then you'll learn to appreciate how easy you have it in cardio 1. ;) By the end of each month while doing BR I was amazed at how much I'd progressed. The cardio workouts all seem so hard on the first week of the month, but by the end you'll be killing it.

I've been experiencing so many crashes and errors that I've been avoiding using the app most of the time. It's become more trouble than it's worth to try logging items on the app, even though that used to be my main method of tracking.

I don't have anything exciting to report, but here are some results I got that should at least be reassuring to people who wonder if they can succeed on WFPB or have been told that they'll end up anemic or B12 deficient. I saw a naturopath recently because I wasn't feeling like I was the best I could be considering how…

You've been running in Shape Ups?! You should be thrilled you haven't hurt yourself and immediately walk briskly to a running store to get fitted in some real shoes.
-
Oh that sucks. As far as I know you can only buy the DVDs.

Body Revolution! It has way more variety than one DVD with three workouts, and it progresses in intensity over 12 weeks. I did it and my fitness improved so much over only three months. It's worth the money if you know you'll stick with it.

Doing the exact same workout for 30 days sounds boring and not as effective as switching it up. Why not do the other levels as well but increase the amount of weight you're using?
-
Ditto this. Everything under "recent" is stuff I entered way back last fall! My real recent foods are nowhere to be found.

When I view other people's diaries their meal names are replaced with mine. Ex. I have "Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, Beverages" and a friend has "Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, Supplements," but when I view her diary on my phone her "Supplements" tab says "Beverages". This happened with the old version as well, but…

Blasphemy.

Are you in the healthcare field? I keep seeing people doing this course, but I don't see the point unless you're already in a healthcare or nutrition field.

A yoga mat, some hand weights and a few more DVDs. That way you can get a full workout. That pedal thing looks pretty one dimensional, like someone said.

We tried this for the first time this week and now we're addicted. The first night I made it with 2 bananas and one cup of frozen strawberries, and a few nights later we made it with just bananas. SO GOOD! It totally satisfied the frozen dessert craving we had.

I think 30DS is seriously overrated around here. I do it sometimes, but only if I'm super pressed for time and can't do anything longer. It's so short that I never feel like I've gotten a good workout in when I do it. I think you'd be better off getting a few different DVDs and working them around your ability and schedule…

So do approximately 50% of all unicorns...

Same here. I can do so many other ab exercises but I can't do a single sit up without putting my feet under something. Maybe we're broken.

Don't be a jerk. She clearly wrote "protirn". Protirn is delicious, by the way.

If you start a new diet and are immediately concerned it's making you ill, then it's probably not a good way to eat. Eat more carbs. Carbs are nice.

You don't eat a lot of fruit. THIS WOMAN eats a lot of fruit: http://thebananagirl.com/

I don't eat soy because my body can't tolerate it (nothing to do with hormones), but I don't think people need to avoid it. I drank and ate soy products for years and years before I realized I had to quit. Here's some information from a dietician: http://www.veganhealth.org/articles/soy_wth That said, soy is in tons of…

A healthy amount of protein (according to the big guys in plant-based) is 10-15%. I know a lot of people will do great with only 10% protein, but because I'm strength training and working out I aim for 15%. I'm not sure how much that would increase for body builders. Higher fat intakes are linked to more health problems,…

I'm thinking of going on a detox to solve some issues I've been seeing with my diet. I eat too healthy, and I'm worried I'm not putting enough stress on my organs and it's going to make them weak and pathetic. For my detox I'm going to drink soda in place of water and eat only heavily processed foods. No fresh fruits and…

I've been losing a ton of hair due to hormonal changes after weaning. Someone said to think back to anything that happened 6 months ago that could've been extremely stressful, but I've been told 6-8 weeks later is when it would've happened. You don't need to up your protein to stop this. Hair loss caused by protein…

Your body needs carbs to live. People forget that's what our brains run on. Sure, a carb is a carb if all you care about is macros and losing weight, but they don't contain the same nutrients or have the same effects on your body! And every time I look up RDAs for protein I get numbers around 50-60 for myself, which is…

I donated last month and was told to wait 24 hours, and I was back to exercising normally the next day. Maybe your iron was a bit on the low-but-acceptable side going in?

I love Daiya as well, but I try to eat it infrequently since it's nutritionally pretty empty. What kind of cheeses are you looking to replace? If you're looking for a good cheese sauce substitute then there are a lot of good recipes out there that use nutritional yeast. I can message you the one I use if you're interested.

Fantastic results! P.S. You have an amazing smile and I'm envious of your hair. :)

I buy organic anytime it's an option for environmental and health reasons, and it is definitely more expensive, but it's a huge priority for me. We get our produce delivered once a week (all organic, and as much local as possible), and it averages about $60 a week. We buy our other groceries from the big store every two…
