I think it's a great age to start! My son is almost the exact same age - will be 7 in less than a month and when I was doing C25K I have taken him with me before. He did really well. My best advice is to try and go somewhere like a track where he can stop and rest if he needs to without you having to stop. I would take…

That is great. Something that I have found after having kids is that I've had to let go of getting back to a certain number on the scale. My body changed and I found that it was more beneficial to focus on getting healthy and fit than to just get back to that pre-pregnancy weight. As it turned out, I was able to get back…

Sounds like you have made a lot of positive changes! I know how difficult it can be having a schedule like that. I am in a different line of work but the same issues of driving to different clients and it is a lot harder fitting in a healthy eating routine. Smoothies have helped as a way to have a healthy breakfast on the…

1200 net or total? What kind of cardio are you doing?

Your body continues to burn calories in the evening and throughout the night. Our bodies don't "power down" and stop functioning! As far as I can see, the rationale for not eating at night has more to do with changing bad habits (mindless eating, binge eating, etc.) than that the body will not burn those calories. If you…

wow! How stressful. I'm glad you were able to get things figured out.
-
eating later is not going to make your body hold onto it.
-
you need to make more of an effort to spread your calories through the day. It happens sometimes but 1000 calories is a lot. Is the 390 a typo? Are you hungry?
-
What specifically are you doing now?
-
It manifests itself differently in people so it's hard to give general tips on dealing with someone struggling with it.

Go by your measurements and how you feel. Don't let the scale discourage you!

Have her take pictures to compare her progress. The scale is not the only way to see that her efforts are paying off. I am also doing Ripped in 30 and while I haven't lost any weight according to the scale, I have progress pictures to prove that my efforts are paying off and I am much happier with the results I am seeing…

Give it time, and don't let the scale be the ultimate judge of how well you are doing. I know it's hard but try not to get discouraged because of the scale. I haven't lost any weight in the last few months but my body is slimming down and changing. I'll take that over the number on the scale going down as proof of my…

The scale is not the only thing to look at for results. If you're eating well, exercising and seeing your body change (just not seeing the scale go down) try not to worry too much. That being said, are you eating or netting 1200 calories? If you're exercising like that you probably need to eat more each day than what you…

Completed Day 1 of Week 3 this morning. This is the first time I've really stuck to something and consistently done the workouts each week. Really proud of myself. The progress pics/results are so motivating, it's making it easier to get it done each morning. Level 3 is definitely hard but I found myself enjoying it more…

Also, I just found at my walmart a boxed set with 2 JM DVD's - BFBM and NMTZ for $10. Seemed like a good deal, thought I'd pass the info along. :)

Hi ladies! Jumping in late on this thread. I finished week 2 of RI30 yesterday. I'm loving it. I haven't lost a single pound but when I compared my before photos with the ones I took yesterday, I was SO motivated. Big changes already, can't wait to see what they look like at the very end.

i know how you feel, I've just upped my calories and am having to do this as well. Based on what you posted you could add some pb to your english muffin. For lunch you could add some cheese and more turkey. I also went to 2% milk instead of skim to get more calories and fat.

Lately it's been sugar free jello with a bit of whipped cream on top. Yum!

Honestly, you're weighing too often. You could weigh tomorrow morning and be down 3 pounds. Who knows? But I think the stress of weighing in and worrying about that all week doesn't help. Technically, I should be losing a little bit every single day but that doesn't always happen. I have weeks where my eating is perfect…

Another thing to consider is that maybe your clothes have grown with you and stretched out. I know that has happened to me. I've lost weight and my clothes fit a bit looser but when I go to the store to buy a smaller size they are still too small! So, for me, I probably had gone up a size with weight gain but stayed in the…

I agree with this.

I wouldn't consider 5 pounds in 6 weeks as weight sticking around. I think that is actually a pretty good rate for you to lose weight and would try not to be too disappointed. I don't think your metabolism is as a standstill if you are losing.
-
Also, just took a quick glance at your food diary and if it is accurate I would suggest trying to get more fiber in each day.
-
I can't speak to the exercise, but I am your same height with a similar normal activity level - lightly active. I started around 150 and wasn't losing any weight. Did the 1200 calorie, did the upping my calories to 1360, zig zagged my calories and still wasn't losing anything. Finally took the time to look through my food…

I've only had two pregnancies but I feel the same way. I gained around 25 with my first and around 35 with my second but was 10 pounds lighter before getting pregnant with the 2nd so my ending weight was right around the same (actual) number. I dropped the weight really quickly with very little effort both times. With my…

Isn't it nice when others notice? I love that!!! Keep 'em coming!

That is a HUGE victory. Way to go!!!

It is hard, no doubt. I've had to really change my thinking so that I am not so focused on the scale and more focused on being healthier. So, even if the scale isn't moving I'm still accomplishing something, ya know? But it's hard not seeing a couple pounds fly off with ease. (Not saying that is the case for everyone with…

I think you missed the point. All those statements were MYTHS (in his opinion). He wasn't agreeing with them, he was saying they were untrue, which is (for the most part) what you are saying as well.
