  • Are you actually doing measurements? I thought the same thing until I compared pictures and did measurements and found out I was losing in my stomach. Just a thought. :)
  • Honestly, I have no idea! I'm wondering the same thing. I was 115 when I met my husband but that was the lowest weight of my adult life! Normally was more like 125. I've had two kids, they are 23 months apart. Youngest will be 3 this summer. I just don't know what my realistic goal weight can be. I was 140 when I got…
  • Cheese or PB are my go to foods in that type of situation. :)
  • Ditto this - if you're wanting to lose the fat, crunches is not the way to go.
  • I will tell you at our school we have a doctor's office like scale and it is broken and the weight shows about 15 pounds less than what is right. Do you have a child you could weigh on your scale at home? They weigh so much less it is a little more obvious to see if it's wrong, ya know? I would change the batteries in your…
  • That sounds great. I will tell you - when I was bf'ing I ate WAY more than not. Sounds like you are still pretty fresh from the weaning so it's going to be an adjustment to your body to lower your food intake/calories. It's a process for sure! My only other advice (which you sound like you are already doing) is to take…
  • I don't think there is anything wrong with exercising to eat more but I do think you should try to really sit down and look at what you are eating to plan some meals that are a little bit better - more fiber, more protein, etc. I prefer to find that I have extra calories then feel like I HAVE to exercise just to compensate…
  • How cool! I totally effed up yesterday too. Big time. And I didn't get my exercise in like I was planning. I felt terrible the rest of the day (regret). Moving on...hoping to still show that loss on weigh in day even though I did so poorly yesterday.
  • When I wasn't tracking and eating healthy it could be up to 4 pounds difference. Now that I am and have lost some weight it is usually only 2 pounds different at the most. :)
  • You could always try adding a little bit of agave nectar to it (similar to honey) to help with the taste.
  • Are you positive you measured at the exact same spot? Are you bloated? Is AF visiting?
  • OMG, the reese's that come out on holidays - christmas trees - valentine's hearts - easter eggs - KILL Me. I love those things. And the worst thing that I found this year - they make a super size version now! It has doubled in size! I cannot stop myself from eating the whole thing. Seriously, those are so hard for me not…
  • I can't tell you what you should do but if it were me I would just eat a dinner within the remaining calories. I do a lot of grilled chicken with steamed veggies and that comes in way under that so it's definitely possible. :) Add my water w/fiber in it and that helps a lot to fill me up. :)
  • I may be wrong but I didn't think heart rate monitors were designed to measure your calories "at rest." I am guessing it is not an accurate reading when you are wearing it all day.
  • I always added it just as exercise but I would make sure (for you) to eat those exercise calories. Now, I add exercise and extra calories but I don't always eat them.
  • I don't know! It is totally confusing when breastfeeding. When I was tracking it I would include it as a daily exercise just to add those extra calories that I knew I needed. I would just caution you to really be careful since she is so young! You sound like you are being careful because you said you'd be fine with…
  • ITA with logging EVERYThing. One of the things I am keeping track of is sodium and even if there is something with no calories or fat it has sodium. :) I don't log my gum though. But I rarely have it.
  • You could always use ground turkey. I don't love ground turkey burgers - I don't mind ground turkey in soups and chilis where there are a lot of spices but when I want a burger, I want a REAL burger, LOL. But I would get super lean ground beef for you and ground turkey for your hubby. For me I use the orowheat sandwich…
  • What are you eating on a typical day? Not everything you eat has to be low calorie and low fat. Avocados are great for you but they are not super low cal/lowfat foods.
  • Also - the soups you are doing - are they canned soups? Maybe you could try making big batches of homemade soups and freeze them and have those. I wonder how much sodium you are getting in a day - maybe you could try to cut back on that? I don't know, just kind of guessing. :) But I would definitely try to stay at 1200…
  • I would throw in some avocados and cheese in the salad to add some calories.
  • How many calories per day are you averaging? Would you mind sharing your height/weight and goal weight loss?
  • Have you taken pictures? I didn't think I was making any progress - had only lost about 4 pounds. Then I took pics to compare to my pics one month ago and there was a HUGE difference. It's hard to notice changes when you are losing the weight slowly and exercising. So, I would suggest doing pictures every month. It was…
  • I don't disagree - I was responding to the comment that proper nutrition education is not offered to poor people and not made known to them.
  • Hmm, maybe I'm crazy! I thought some of my vitamins/supplements that I take listed calories. I will have to check when I get home.
  • My best advice is to get rid of the junk in your home. I have no willpower if something is in my house so I don't bring it into my house. Have healthy snacks all prepped and ready to go. But, being at home that much does make it harder. Good luck!
  • That being said - do you guys track your calories from vitamins and supplements? It is a little bit on it's own but it all adds up and I want to make sure I'm doing it the right way!
  • That's what I've been doing. Just wondered because with plans like weight watchers the amount of fiber relates to how many points and following their system this supplement is negative points so it made me think about whether I should count it or not. I don't want to eat too few calories because I am counting the fiber…
  • When I measure around my stomach I don't suck it in. I just measure what it is naturally. I would be losing several inches by measuring a sucked in tummy! For my hips I measure around my hip bones and also do measurements around my butt. :)
  • I have no idea! But my father in law makes awesome fish tacos and now I want some! He does corn tortillas and tilapia - pan fried but not super unheathy. Then he does cabbage and the sauce we use is fat free sour cream and some chili seasoning type of thing. I think if it were me I would make them at home just to be on the…
