I seriously just bought those cheapy Sure Grip Aerobics through Sin City. I LOVE them. Skated 18 miles in them one day on a nice paved trail (as a part of my own challenge to skate 100 miles on my month off from derby). That's my 2 cents. :]

Oooh. Let me introduce myself. I am Hussy Lyn Hipshot of Toledo, OH's only women's flat track roller derby team, Glass City Rollers. I am in my 2nd season of skating with GCR and loving it! My goal with MFP is to lose weight (I'm still packing on 25 lbs of post pregnancy weight) & also get a better physique. My endurance…

Man, how did I JUST find this? I've been looking for roller derby peeps on here forever!!! I'm one of the skaters for Glass City Rollers (Toledo, OH). Derby peeps feel free to friend me. I need to start using this more. :] -Hussy Lyn Hipshot

That happens! But I agree with what everyone else is saying...just learn from it. It's not as bad as it seems. Plus, with "dieting" your body gets bored/used to you eating the same amount of calories everyday (just like it does if you did the same exercises everyday). All you did was shake the boat a little bit. Now you'll…

I ♥ EAS Carb Advantage french vanilla drink. It has 17g Protein & only 1g Carb (0g sugar!). A 4 pack at Wal-Mart is $4.20. At other supermarkets or GNC is currently around $6 to the best of my knowledge. Something to at least check out.

I used to do Pilates at my gym in addition to a cardio/weights routine and I was very toned with a strong core. Since my baby I've gained so much weight BUT I just started doing Pilates 1 week ago (I sprained my ankle like July 2 and haven't been able to do a lot) and I feel like I walk taller...therefore making me look…

Hmm...really looking for more feedback on this... and nothing. :(

That's what crossed my mind to do. I just don't know I guess. My progress (or lack of) has me second-guessing my routine and trying to find the tried and true method. Thanks for your input.

that is AWESOME!!!! and you def deserve to be stoked about it.

@Amber - thanks for the reply. I actually just re-did my mini goals and made them more realistic. I've actually been at sort of a plateau lately. i lost 0.2 lbs the one week and NOTHING the 2 weeks after. Frustrating. I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right. I'm NOT giving up. It may just be muscle and I know I will be…

Thanks for the response and insight. 'Tis true...any weight loss is a loss at the end of the day. I like that. Last week I worked pretty hard and only lost 0.2 lbs...I didn't even check in 'cuz I was thinking "meh!" :] But I feel a little bit better now. And by the way, congrats on your weight loss!
-
Well I just went ahead and "guess-timated" my own little mini goals without anyones advice. If these seem ridiculous, please someone let me know. :] Thanks.

Your deficit is already figured out from your daily routine. So it gives you your target caloric intake for a day. If you work out you burn *extra* calories.....if you don't eat them...you'll have too much caloric deficit which will make your body think it's starving. I'm no expert, but that's what I think makes sense.

Boo who? Boo me! I am pretty sure I have a sinus infection (gross) accompanied by a horrible headache and had to work 13 hours today...so pretty sure I'm skipping the Shred  . Seriously, I hate it when I have to miss an evening with Ms. Michaels. Looks like everyone is still doing really great though! Keep up the…

I feel like it's been forever since I caught up on reading the posts. Sad to say that I took the last THREE days off from the workout. 1st day I did THREE hours of HEAVY house cleaning. 2nd day was just chaotic. And yesterday...was laundry day, go to book fair day, visit Santa, and be cranky day. I really wish I would've…

Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. It's like p90x (sort of) but a shorter commitment.... still an *kitten* kicker.
-
I've been shredding for 2 1/2 weeks. I've lost 5 lbs so far and I'm way happy with that (I even weighed in the day after :drinker: lol) So I am really happy. The only other exercise I do is some extra crunches once in awhile. Of course I am pretty busy physically working two retail jobs & keeping my house clean but that's…

I will..... * buy & wear regular (not skirted) bikini bottoms with all my cute bikini tops. * wear shorts in public and possibly some skirts (that has been YEARS!!!). * start running. * have to tailor A LOT of my current clothes  (and I'm OK with that)
-
fit_in - The workout really does get easier. Pretty much Jillian was right on the nose with me. It took me about 5-7 days to make it through the Level 1 feeling good (not like I was dying) and she always gives her encouraging words right when I want to rest. Good luck with it. :flowerforyou: It's the only workout I've been…

Geez I just checked back to see if anyone told you because I was kinda wondering myself. I looked up some info, and to me they don't seem better than normal chips (according to calories, fat, sodium, etc...). BUT probably better because they don't have all the UN-natural stuff in them though.

AGREE!!!! That's actually what I did for Thanksgiving and it worked great. I was so impressed. I know if I ever have to go to CiCi's again I'll def be checking that kind of stuff out. But I found their nutritional information here: http://www.thedailyplate.com/nutrition-calories/food/cicis-pizza I looked over the…

AGH! It's so cold today I didn't even feel like working out because I didn't want to get out from under my blanket! But I did and now I'm burning up..... and my shoulders feel like I'm a Barbie that some tot tried ripping the arms off! Hopefully that doesn't effect my bowling game tomorrow (which I will be doing after…

that is so awesome! seriously. since oct 11....amazing. way to go!

 That's great!!!! Glad to hear you're not waiting til' New Years. That crossed my mind once or twice but I am so glad to just start NOW. It's also, really touching to hear about your story because I feel the same in some ways. Only my husband's pay keeps decreasing, and I'm at work more away from him and our…

Also agree...eat some more calories. I know I'm new to this but I've been watching a friend for the last 11 months lose & gain & lose & gain (and also plateau) and I try telling her nicely she's not eating enough. There will be a whole day where she just eats a cupcake? Seriously, that happened. Now that's VERY extreme,…

That's awesome. Congrats!!!!!!

GUESS WHAT!!!!!! I wanna share this with all of you, since this is the group I have by far socialized with the most since joining..... I have been enough of an inspiration *tear* to my husband working out and using MFP for the last 2 1/2 weeks, that when I came home today he showed me HIS MFP profile. =] He has a bit more…

ugh. the cheer squats make it feel like someone's ripping my arms off at the shoulders! but today when i did them, i made it through them. and word of advice to anyone, don't try to do the skaters on a rug. just saying, it's a BAD idea.

I am pretty sure if it's medical why you leave work, they have to allow you to leave. Talk to you psych about it...or the physician who referred you. They usually seem to know. I had problems at an old employer while I was pregnant. and my ob/gyn seemed to know all the laws. Regardless of that, your life and happiness is…

Just wanted to share that before I started 30 day shred & joined MFP, my BMI was 32 (obese)......well, currently my BMI is at 29.7. Yay!!! It's still in the higher point of "overweight" but heck, I am still excited!!!! =] lbpw- everyone's results are really going to vary. You get out of it what you put into it. I did Level…
