  • Welcome to MFP!!! I really enjoy having active people on my friends list, I enjoy motivating others as well! Congrats on your start, your plan sounds like fun actually.
  • Almost on week 6 here, Sunday starts it for me! I have really enjoyed it and I like having friends who are completing it as well. It's always better when you have someone doing the same thing! Anyone can add me as well if they like!
  • I just got out of the Navy...good choice! I'm almost in week 6 of insanity, I've lost 5 lbs...I don't think many lose a lot of weight with it, a lot of people I know who have done it saidbthe same thing! I have lost a lot of inches...I say give it a try!!
  • I'm going to get dressed ...that's a start, right? I seriously love the motivation from this site!! Thanks everyone!
  • I asked this same question months ago and got the same type of responses. Honestly, I work out when I get home from work or class, even if it's after 11 at night. I'm mentally drained by then as well, but I've been doing it for so long now that I just feel like I have more energy. No one on here is going to give you the…
  • I'm at the end of week 3 (my rest day is tomorrow!), it's been an intense 3 weeks, but the results are amazing. I haven't lost a lot of weight, 5 ish pounds, but I have lost inches in both my hips and waist. Great program and when I'm done, I'm going to try and incorporate some of the workouts in with my running.
  • Almost done with week 3, my rest day is tomorrow! I've seen some pretty decent results. Weight loss isn't high, 5lbs ish, but I've lost 3 inches from my waist and one off my hips and that was before this week. It's really a great program, but you have to stick with it! Add me, I really enjoy seeing everyone's Insanity…
  • It's not an "if everybody else is doing it" defense. It's more of a "I'm sorry it bothers you, but it's probably not the first time or the last time you're going to hear it" defense. If it really bothers someone that much that another person is using foul language, the option to leave or ignore it is there. Her telling…
  • I guess I look at it this way, If it offends you, ignore it. It may offend someone else that you're telling them to not do it. I understand that some people don't care for it, but seriously, if you watch television, it's there, do you contact the television stations and tell them the same thing or do you just change the…
  • I'm starting my 3rd week today. Took my 2nd fit test last night, definitely improved! The program hurts and there are days I want to quit, but so far it has been so worth it! Lost three inches in my waist alone. I don't do the nutrition plan, I just don't have time to be that dedicated to it, but I don't eat poorly on my…
  • Just run. When I first started years ago, it was to prep myself for boot camp...I'm glad I did that. I haven't stopped running since. Don't go to time, just go for distance and speed will improve from there. Find your breathing pattern and take a bigger stride. When I first started out, my calf muscles were so sore until I…
  • Awesome job! We were at the same 5k! Too funny. Congrats on your finish!!

  • I'm having a hard time getting my heart rate to drop down in a 30 second break...what am I supposed to do, stop the DVD to let my heart rate drop to an acceptable number before starting again? This has always confused me a little.
  • I'm having the same issue with Insanity, but I'm seeing results, so I keep going. For the Plyo workout, I burned 300 calories...I was dripping with sweat (ewe) and I really feel like I put a good effort into it, but that's what I burned. I have noticed that I typically burn 100 calories during just the warm up. I was…
  • I set my calories to 1800, log exercises as 1 calorie regardless of how much I burn, and then go from there. I have an HRM so I know exactly how much I'm burning. I honestly feel this is better for me because I feel like I get to eat more. I'm netting between 1200-1350 daily and it's not as hard. I think it's all about how…
  • I started on Sunday, it was definitely an eye-opening experience. Some of the exercises I can only do a few of, so instead of compromising my form and potentially hurting myself, I do squats or a different exercise that I can do. I always make sure to as many of the difficult exercise that I can first. It may seem odd, but…
  • I have my calories set to 1800 a day. I'm doing Insanity and it was recommended I up my daily calories. I don't log how many calories I burn, but I know that I'm at least netting 1200 per day if not a little more. Before Insanity, I was eating 1400 per day and eating back my exercise calories then. I have noticed that I'm…
  • I just started Insanity, but before then I was running either on my treadmill or at home. I'm not a gym fan, mainly because I just don't like to be around a lot of people, so working out at home is best for me.
  • I wouldn't stress it. I don't always eat within my calories and I'm pretty steady on the weight loss. Everyone has their days! I hope you enjoyed your breakfast. Get back to your workout tomorrow, let your body take the break, you sound like you really were due one!
  • I drink coffee daily with creamer...can't help it. I'm still losing. I am doing it as a favor to everyone around me!
  • I typically eat back some of them on the day of and then because I save for a treat meal, I eat back some of them after the fact. I've been steadily losing anywhere from half a pound to a pound a week, so for me, that works. I think for many people it depends on the person. I have my calories set to 1400/day and I average…
  • I bought a relatively cheap one off of groupon about a month ago. I didn't know if I really wanted to mess with a chest strap or not, so I went that route. Honestly, I love it and don't even realize it's on anymore! I'll use it until it dies and then get a polar one. I paid $24 for it, but it's supposed to retail for…
  • I always get a burrito bowl at Chipotle, no 200 calories for a tortilla there. I'm not a cheese fan and I don't like guac, so it is relatively healthy especially with black beans and brown rice! I think I know what I'm getting for lunch!
  • I haven't looked up dominos and I don't have Verizon, so I'm not sure what the deal is with mine then. Weird.
  • chips and salsa, cupcakes, jalapeno and salt and vinegar kettle chips...if it has salt, I'm in with a beer or two...it's awful. Still can't go to chili's without ordering the bottomless tostada chips! Only on my treat meals...
  • Hello! You seem to be putting in the effort at the gym, that's great! I looked at your food diary, I'm no expert by any means, but I do know that it takes a good diet and exercise to lose weight. I checked out your diary and while you're staying in your set calorie range you're eating a lot of sodium! Some of the things…
  • I've had the Mirena, on # 2 now for over 6 years. I love it! Took a while for the spotting to stop, it was pretty constant when it was first put in. I don't have a period at all. I've heard other people say different though, so I guess it depends on the person. Good luck!

  • I used 2lb weights last night. I'm thinking about going up to 5 since it was really easy for me. I wasn't expecting the same calorie burn as a run, but I was expecting more than 151 I guess. I'm going to use 5lb weights tonight when I do day 2. Hopefully that will increase something. I'm not even sore or anything...hmmm
  • I weigh around 145 and I'm 5'6, so I'm not too short...I'm happy with what I burned, but I think that I need to step it up a bit...what size weights do you use? Does that make a difference?
  • True, it is only 20 minutes. I guess I'm just used to my runs and how I can burn 600 calories in 40 minutes. I need to add some strength training in somewhere, can't just completely stick to cardio, so I'm starting small. I'm thinking about increasing the weights, it was actually pretty easy! I was expecting the worst, and…
