I use my FitBit to track my activity and workouts. I DO NOT sync FitBit to MFP. I figured my basic daily activity (getting ready for work, brushing my teeth, etc, etc, etc) is the same now as it was when I was gaining weight, so why should that "activity" be counted towards a deficit just because my goal is to lose weight?…

I just read the program. I wish you luck.

If you really want to smoke, light up tomorrow. You will really desire it by then. Lather, rinse, repeat one day at a time. ETA - should be "deserve" it lol, but I'm sure "desire" is appropriate also.

Are you consuming fewer calories than you expend? Regardless of the "diet plan" you follow, calories in vs. calories out is all that is necessary for weight loss.

I love my Charge 2. I use it to track activity. I don't sync the calories with MFP. I have activity set to sedentary and any exercise calories merely increase my deficit. That method is working for me to the tune of 5-8lbs weight loss per month.

56 yo menopausal women, currently weighing 197, goal weight of 140ish. I walk, hike and cycle for exercise, looking to add yoga and heavy lifting to the mix. Currently losing 5-8lbs per month on 1400 calories. Add me.

My tip - don't blame your age and/or slow metabolism. Own your weight AND your weight loss.

At 52 years of age, I got a hand-me-down Trek hybrid. I was challenged by my brothers to participate in the BP MS150 - a 150 mile, 2-day charity ride. I hadn't ridden a bike in 35 years or so. I trained for about 3-4 months and completed the ride. I found a new passion. A couple of months later I had knee surgery and it…

@mjc8080, Do you have reasonable expectations for weight loss? Do you have a reasonable and sustainable eating plan? Do you restrict certain "bad" foods? Are you eating enough?

how many calories does that burn?

If, when reading the nutrition data label, I see the word "water" listed as the first ingredient, I count it as water. (Even if I don't track or log my water intake - I monitor my pee color). This applies to soda (diet or otherwise), sparkling flavored waters (ohh, there's that word again), teas, coffees, etc.
-
yep, probably so.

And this is why an excessively restrictive diet is not a good idea... ETA: even for only 7 days...

Fat free Greek yogurt, a bit of cool whip to "fluff" it up and Torani sugar free raspberry syrup is delightfully yummy and light.

When I attend a function, I go to enjoy the company of those around me, not to make sure I eat for the pleasure of others.

As for the tan, there is nothing wrong with limited exposure to natural sunlight, with the appropriate SPF sunscreen, increasing the exposure time as you build a base tan.

I don't like not being able to do the things I want to do without pains, difficulty breathing and difficulty moving.

I was 38, newly divorced and newly sober. I decided to get my navel pierced at a local "clean and sober" tattoo parlor. He did the piercing and insisted that I come back in a few days so he could make sure it was healing properly. I started hanging out at the tattoo parlor for the interesting company and the sobriety. We…

Sounds like you have a self worth/self esteem issue that goes deeper than physical appearance. You want to feel worthy ("worth something")? Do worthy things, such a take care of yourself. I know my self confidence sky-rocketed when I started taking care of me so I could achieve the things I wanted. Physical things, like…

Depending on your recovery, you may still have swelling, inflammation contributing to the weight, also perhaps increased water stores to aid in the recovery and/or healing at the cellular level.
