Bump for ideas!

I use a digital scale for just about everything that isn't sold in s weighed portion. Got a shock when I weighed my "portion" of cereal only to find that my idea of portion was almost 3 times more than I had been accounting for. Weighing is just second nature, and it makes bulk recipes and portioning so much more accurate.…

Certainly ate more than usual, drank more, walked a lot more. All secure in the knowledge that I started from a much better position than last year and knowing for certain that I will drop the excess pounds over the next few weeks. Holidays are to enjoy! :drinker:

I have been using celeriac puree instead of potatoes, or a 50/50 mix. Pasta down at 50 grams, rice the same, use crispbreads instead of bread, or for starter type foods dips etc a single slice of bread can make 8 pieces of French toast, and if you remove excess soft bits it is even fewer calories. Bolognese sauce served…

Another shrinking bear here too. Feel free to add friend request.

Hey, logging is your choice, thing is that unlogged calories don't actually disappear! I tried a week or two pretending that wine and cider didn't need logging. It worked, they magically disappeared from my diary. Hooray! But where did the 2lb gain in the scale come from? Totally unfair cos my diary shows I was good all…

Non oily fish, lean meats like chicken venison. A huge selection of vegetables Rice pasta couscous beans pulses Some cracker breads Make your own pasta sauces, they don't need fat, just lots of flavor from herbs and spices. Good luck

Yuch, sweetened coffee! Strong and black, the first cup of the day, delivered to my bedside by my own gorgeous "coffee fairy", is the sweetest of the day.

Half a red onion finely chopped, Clove of garlic (optional) crushed 250 grams mushrooms, quartered or sliced. 1 laughing cow light blue cheese triangle Salt, pepper, tablespoon of water. Put everything except cheese in a lidded pan over low heat until mushrooms are tender and releasing juices Strain the mushrooms to a…

Leftovers warmed in the microwave Hairy Bikers (Dieters) Spanish Chicken. Actually tastes better on day 2. Especially the unpeeled garlic cloves! Poor colleagues tomorrow hehehe.

Great results, and a really good message for new folks. For me it was the holiday pictures in October that was the spur, they are still there waiting to be rolled out on 1st goal day (when I get to 4 stones , 56 pounds lost) Great story and inspirational dedication to logging! :flowerforyou:

My SO was with me from the start but has now reached target so now needs to maintain. We have a 900 calorie difference. We eat together in the evenings, same food, same portions. But during the day he chooses for himself, sensibly, counting but indulging slightly. We do keep treats in the freezer, cakes, pastries etc. I…

Working on this with my lovely husband, he has achieved his target but is incredibly supportive. We eat the same for meals when we're together, he takes his surplus calories when he is away from me. Removes food envy, jealousy and temptation. Big benefit is that I am now inheriting his former chubby clothes, I have a whole…

Shred it, steam it with black pepper and fresh chopped rosemary

I log water as water only when drunk in its plain, unadulterated still form. Water in tea, coffee, juice is logged as tea, coffee or juice. Sparkling water I log as sparkling water. Just my own preference.

You have done well so far. We all have flat days and weeks. But everyday remember you are a lot lighter than you were in September! But also remember that your goal for February is ??? And March is February minus ??? Never give up Good luck

Not worth the thumb movements. Practice vs preach. Meat on the plate vs pie in the sky If more people practiced supporting life now, and less time praying about life to come we could all enjoy a little more life today. Primary messages are Love your neighbour as you would love yourself! . . . . End of. . . . Religion…

Simple principle is that NOTHING is forbidden. BUT understand how it fits into your target for the day/week. Yes I do work on the bike with the express intention of burning enough for a beer or a half of wine, or even a meat feast pizza. Count it, plan it, enjoy it. You are building a life change, and if you don't enjoy…

Feel free, I'm aiming for 1300, log religiously, eat back some exercise calories, save some to splurge at weekends Lunch and breakfast are pretty standard (predictable) I do loads of batch cooking so you'll see things like 2nd February soup in the entry. I save every batch as a recipe and freeze in counted portions. Happy…

Go for it, tried quite a few of their recipes, very tasty. Inspiration seeing two large chaps shedding 6 stones between them.

As above. But if I go over or fancy a drink I make a point of trying to do extra at gym to compensate. Yes I do get to 350 cal burn and start thinking which bottle of red to open .:drinker:

I often use whole Portobello mushrooms as the base (holder) for food. They come in at about 18 calories each and really fill the plate. Oven bake with one or two sprays of 1 cal oil then fill with chilli, Bolognese etc.
