  • I make my own - canned tomatoes, tomato paste, a little red wine, a little olive oil, and lots of garlic, oregano and basil. Really easy and much less expensive than anything premade.
  • Smashed rice crackers and extra egg will bind just about the same as bread crumbs.
  • Should be just fine. With the high sodium content, bacon will last for quite some time. That said, if you are nervous about it, take it back. The store should take it back since it was past date when you bought it.
  • Thanks for posting! The only homemade coconut ice creams I've seen have required the use of a ice cream machine, which I don't have. Will definitely try this soon.
  • When I'm cutting, these are my staples: Salads, just keep your dressing minimal or use fresh pico or salsa instead Omelets/Scrambles, two eggs are only 140 calories leaving lots of room for a variety of veggies plus some meat Stir Fry, different sauces/marinades helps make just meat and veggies more interesting Soup, a big…
  • Giving up artificial sweeteners can be nothing but good for you even if you aren't specifically allergic to them. After awhile, you'll find they don't even taste good. Also, have you considered dairy as a possible intollerance? Just asking because you mentioned sinus problems which are typical of dairy issues.
  • Salad with Pulled Pork and Fresh Pico de Gallo
  • The first one definitely looks suspiciously low in calories. Ribeye is high in fat, so it's going to be more calorie dense per ounce. The others look close. The way I choose entries is to try and find the ones that would be from the USDA database (no asterisk in front of the description), and then if nothing matches I try…
  • Most likely. A standard 750 ml bottle of wine is just over 25 ounces.
  • Egg and Shredded Coconut
  • 70% or higher cocoa dark chocolate
  • Her 40 meals in 4 hours is impressive! Just wanted to add a couple tips for make ahead meals. Soups, stews, and anything that cooks best slow and gets better the longer you cook it are great for freezing. Avoid cream sauces as they tend to separate. Lasagna and casseroles do well if cooked first then frozen, but don't cook…
  • Just Franks and butter - Only added oil would be from deep frying the wings. Best additions to traditional sauce are extra garlic and chipotle. ;)
  • Never tried it, but based on the ingredients, I'd be surprised if it tastes like traditional buffalo sauce. It doesn't look bad overall, however I personally won't buy any sauce where the first ingredient is water. What about making your own? Traditional buffalo sauce is cayenne pepper, vinegar, salt and garlic powder. You…
  • The tuna cakes sound really good. If I'm having tuna for lunch, it's almost always the same - 1 can tuna mixed with 1T of homemade olive oil mayo and 15 rice crackers.
  • I have a freezer full of moose, caribou, halibut, salmon and rock fish. So my meat purchases are primarily limited to chicken, pork, and tuna. Eggs Fresh veggies - lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, asparagus, broccoli, califlower, bok choy, peppers, and onions. Potatoes - Sweet, fingerling, yukon gold and red Lemons and limes…
  • If you're not hungry, not eating beforehand is fine. Just make sure you eat some of the cheese/snacks before starting on the wine so it doesn't hit you quicker than normal. Enjoy!
  • Once cooked they will last in just the fridge for up to five days, so if you're eating them daily there's no need to freeze. Just store in the fridge as you would any leftovers.
  • I'm not familiar with the tests you mentioned but did have the IGg/IGe food specific antibody testing done. It's one where blood samples are sent into the lab (US Biotek was who did mine) for analysis and testing against a bunch of foods. A sample of what the report can be seen here:…
  • Daily - If it doesn't make you obsess, it's a really good way to know your normal fluctuations.
  • I typically eat the yolks and give half of the whites to the dog!
  • I recently signed up at emeals.com. It's a paid subscription, but they have multiple different menu styles so if you have special requirements like Paleo or gluten free there are those options as well as others. Each week comes with seven meals and a complete shopping list with the meal numbers noted. So if you don't like…
  • Artificial sweeteners of any type make me really sick to my stomach.
  • I opened mine because I was answering questions about being gluten free and dealing with intollerances. There are always questions of "what do you eat?" and I don't mind if others can see my diary. I honestly haven't had any unsolicited comments.
  • If you are just wanting to keep it cold from home until the time you eat lunch, it should be fine with either one of the little packs or even on it's own in an insulated bag. It won't be as cold without the pack, but it's not going to go bad or wilt in a short amount of time. When I used to work in an office, I just took…
  • Giving up wheat isn't that bad. The only thing I really miss is sourdough bread. For most everything else, there are substitutes. And that donut???? Doesn't do a damn thing for me. I've never liked them.
  • I'll second the suggestions of pepper spray or a tazer, (or any other weapon for that matter) if they are legal where you live, and make sure you carry your phone. If you feel any threat of violence, do not hesitate to call the police. And above all, NEVER go anywhere with someone regardless of threat. You have a much…
  • Most of what I have read suggests that women do far better with a 12-14 hour fasting window due to hormones. Since moving to a paleo/primal type of eating, I don't feel the need to eat multiple times a day. I used to be that "have to eat every 3-4 hours, or was a cranky b*tch". The relief of being off that roller coaster…

  • On my Android app it shows under home, then the daily tab. Not sure if it's the same on iPad.
  • If you are using the default MFP settings, they tend to be high on carbs and low on protein and fat. You can go into goals and customize your macros so that they reflect how you prefer to eat.
