Thanks, Ara! I definitely have been adding in more stretch time before and after the workout as 2 minutes each just does not cut it. I read a fitness article by a personal trainer a while back that said you should do a cool down stretch until your body actually feels cool and your skin is no longer pink. Otherwise, you…

This is really interesting! Thanks for sharing!

This is definitely something we should remember. I just felt like even though several of the moves still challenged me that I was getting too complacent. So I decided the best way to fix that was to give myself an even stronger challenge. And, boy, did I ever.

Great job, Ara! That's fantastic!

It's the end of TOM for me too. I use to avoid working out during it. But then I discovered working out during TOM keeps me from having major cramps. Much better than contemplating the bottom of a pain pill bottle. Hope you are able to get some time from the kids and push through it!

Hi Tonya! Welcome to our group! Congratulations on your weight loss, and I hope we're able to help keep you inspired! Everyone is very supportive, and we share some great ideas. Make yourself at home!

Anis--Only you can know if you're ready to move on. If you think you're ready, I would give level 2 a try. The worst that can happen is you realize you're not quite ready and go back to level 1 for a few more days. As for hitting a plateau, don't worry that staying at level 1 is going to make you plateau. You get exactly…

Day 4 shredded! I love how i feel like I get a really good workout done in so little time. I'm actually to the point where I'm counting down the time to when I get to work out rather than when I have to work out.

Just eat healthy and cut out any junk. Your liver will do the cleansing for you.

I use 5 pound weights. The weights you use should challenge you, but not destroy you. You can start out light if you need to and then work your way up. Because of the nature of the moves Jillian has you do, the 5 pound weights definitely provide a challenge, at least for me! :)

Gah, I feel strong! I love how through a TV Jillian can put the fear in you and make you keep going. I'm already feeling more muscle definition and a bit leaner.

It depends. Sometimes if I haven't been getting enough iron and protein in me, I get really weak. So then I just up my protein intake (which also helps with the iron), and I'm usually good to go. You especially want to do this if you're lifting weights since you need more protein anyways to help your muscles recover.

Hi! Having some way to calculate my TDEE more accurately has been something I've wondered about. So, I appreciate this, and don't listen to the other people. Thanks!

Day 2 shredded! It's definitely a push to get through, and I feel it in my thighs and upper arms, but I feel strong! I have noticed that the cool down is really too short to get all of the lactic acid and tension built up out of my system, so I've added a few stretches to make sure I'm really cooling down. It definitely…

I'm going to take one day of rest. I've read that if you don't take a rest day, you run the risk of slowing your metabolism down instead of speeding it up. I'll just make it an active rest day.

If the easy push ups put too much pressure on your knees, you might try doing real push ups braced on a coffee table or against the wall. It's like the easy push up, but without the pressure on the knees. It's worth a try if you haven't already!

Day 1 complete! I only stopped for water once, but I stopped for a few seconds to catch my breath at least once each strength circuit. You know the side lunges things in the last strength circuit? Yeah, those kill me. I've decided my cue to move on to Level 2 is going to be when I can do every rep of those and not whimper.…

Hi! I'm 23, and I'm a high school English teacher. I love my job, but yours sounds amazing. If the whole teacher thing doesn't work out, maybe that will be my backup. Sent you a request!

Welcome! I think that your mini goals are awesome. For me, the best way to stay motivated and put forth all of my effort is to have set goals with set deadlines. It sounds like you're already on your way to living a healthier life!

I do the same as Mary and use no-poo shampoo. Because there's no sulfates and other stuff, it won't dry out or damage your hair. It will actually keep that from happening. Deva Curl is amazing. If I've already showered that day, I tend to just rinse my hair thoroughly with water after a workout.

Welcome! I, too, use to count calories in my head. And then mfp showed me how bad I was at it. I hope you find your own little nook here as well as success. I know I've had lots of fun in the time I've been a member. Request sent. :)
