  • like others have said..it depends on how you feel and what you want to do. Many can work out with an empty stomach. I don't like to do that. I feel like I need the food (energy) to help me have enough stamina to work out. With that being said, i like to eat protein before a work out...eggs are big with me. I don't eat…
  • like others have said, diets where you eat just one food for the most part...don't work in the long run. Its only a quick fix. Youll get sick of it and when you go back to eating a variety of foods..youll gain weight back. Eat a variety of foods, watch your calorie and carb intake...and exercise often.
  • I don't know the scientifics of why whte bread is bad...I just know that white bread, pasta, potatoes...in general, make people gain weight faster. There doesn't seem to be much nutritional value in it. Like someone else said, just a filler. You eating this one loaf (not all in one day) while you stay activie won't hurt…
  • yea, they say if you don't eat enough your body goes into "Starvation mode" and you won't lose the weight. You should go over your weightloss plan to see if you're eating enough or too much. You could also be going through a plateau.... however u spell it
  • I do not eat back my calories. My goal is to eat 1200 c a day, many days I eat less than that :( I don't really mean to eat less...I just find it hard to eat so much when i'm losing weight. So like you said, if I can't eat my normal amount of calories...how can I eat back my exercise calories? I no longer think about…
  • cook yourself some meals. Chili with ground turkey instead of beef Grilled Chicken Homemade pizza (i like whole grain english muffin pizza) Tuna or chicken salad wrap with lettuce and tomato pork chop (not breaded, cooked with olive oil spray) with side of veggies and sweet potato. Omelette with low fat cheese, veggies,…
  • Years ago I lost 60 lbs. I gave up carbs and sweets for the most part. However..once a month or so....I did have a carb filled meal and a cupcake or something sweet. Sadly, I got lazy with my exercise and gained my weight back. Now i'm doing it all over and again, don't eat carbs and sweets. But I know I will treat myself…
  • I drink crystal light with no bad effects. It's fine to me.
  • I think it depends on how you feel about it. Some people may log their water intake by the actual cups of WATER they drank. Personally, I log my water intake by any drink I drink that has water as the number 1 ingrediant. So to me, crystal light countes
  • 1 slice of pizza isn't that bad, like you said. But who can only eat one slice and be satisfied? I don't eat pizza because there is NO way I will stop after one slice. (when i want pizza, i make mini english muffin pizzas...u can eat a lot for little calorie)
  • ok, that makes sense. The macaroni i'm eating is generic and not listed there. I hardly ever use the MFP for calories, I just add them myself because many times MFP is off by double the amount.
  • These kids not eating on the weekend doesn't mean the school has to give them high calorie foods during the week. Having healthy and lower calorie meals is the right option for schools to take I believe. What needs to happen is more education and help to the parents who can't feed their kids. Where can these parents get…
  • I think we can change our thinking. For me, at way over 200 lbs I was eating mcdonalds every day 3 times a day....without care. It wasn't until I reached almost 260lbs that I thought "wait a minute, this isn't right...I need to start eating to live..not the other way around" I think every person gets to that breaking point…
  • Some people don't eat yolk because the fat is in the yolk and they don't want that fat. However....yolk contains good healthy fat. The fat your body and brain needs. I eat all parts of an egg almost everyday, several a day. I LOVE eggs.
  • yea, i never thought about fryng it until tonight either. i WANTED to make tuna patties...but i didn't have any eggs to hold the patties together...so i just put the tuna in the pan as is.
  • VERY GOOD point about the banana bread. I log as I go because I work from home..but if I worked away from home, I would log my packed lunch as I pack it as well.
  • I log as I go. I don't like the idea of logging everything at once, wouldn't want to have to go back and make changes if I don't eat what I logged.
  • ok cool. im almost finished with a 20 oz bottle now. When I go exercise I take a 40oz bottle with me and drink it all by the time i'm back home. Those days water intake is easy. But today is my off day...so it's harder to get the water down.
  • I honestly don't like the idea of pills or aides. I just prefer to do the hard work myself.
  • i've never thrown food away because of the nutritional value. I would just have someone else in my family eat it (someone who can afford to indulge more than i can). I even have given food to a neighbor before because I didn't want the temptation in my house.
  • thanks so much. So in your opinion, if I have no appetite to eat (but know i should) do I force myself? Today for example, it's almost 2pm and all I have eaten is 1 apple and drank a bunch of water. I just have no desire for anything else.
  • thanks everyone so far. yes i'm short. 5 ft 1 in. to the ones that question if i really ate 2000 a day and gained 100 pounds....i'm sure i did. I ate 3 mcdonalds meals a day...the same ones every day...at around 600 calories each that was my day of food. plus i would eat mcdonalds cookies or icecream too.
  • There are lots of foods that fill you up, but don't stay with you long. Carbs are like that. Protein is supossed to stay with you for a long time.
  • i eat like this (1000 calories) when i'm trying to lose weight. exercise 5 days a week, 1 hour when i don't care, I eat 1800-2000 calories of junk, no exercise at all.
  • i don't eat them back. I can't wrap my mind around it. If I exercise and then eat more...it makes me feel like I exercised for nothing. However...I also try to listen to my body. If I worked out hard and I feel hungrier...then I'll eat some extra fruit, protein, veggie. But If I don't feel extra hungry...then I don't eat…
  • I drink diet soda 1-4 times a week and probably always will. It doesn't hurt my weight loss any and I see no issues with it. You say you drink water so much, having 1 diet soda won't hurt you.
  • Hey Sarah, I tried to go to your profile but it says you deactivated your account. I'm hoping that message was a mistake and you're still around. Hellloooooo???!?!?! :)
  • i go to zumba class everyday. Been going for 2 weeks and it's great. tomorrow i'm going to a zumba glow party...2.5 hours of zumba under blacklights. Can't wait
  • i went to zumba everyday this week. and tomorrow i'm going to a zumbafest 2.5 hours worth..instead of the usual 1. and i ate right.
