I like the taste of the Almond milk better.

I'll bite. What is wrong with jogging?

All progress is significant. Congrats!

I don't think apples really spike your blood sugar that much. I find it difficult to believe that eating an apple a day would keep someone from losing weight if they counted it in their calories for the day.

I started working out before work rather than after. At first it was tough getting up early, but then it got to the point where it made me feel so much more energetic during the day.

Perhaps I am dating myself, but when I think of toning, I think of building the muscle underneath the fat. So when I want to 'tone' my abs, I want them to be firm and pulled in to provide a flatter profile. Not really thinking about showing off a six pack or ab muscles.

If I stay within my calories and get in all my macros, there isn't really room for a lot of sugar. Doesn't mean that I don't splurge and go for it anyway sometimes. I haven't actually heard anyone claim that no mater how few calories you eat that you will gain weight if you eat lots of sugar.

This diet was very hot when I was in college. It works until you get sick of eating the frozen food.

Eat fewer calories or exercise more.

I think that is just your body type. I tend to lose on my thighs and want to lose from my waist.

Some people really benefit from the social aspect of group meetings. Heck we all have different learning styles and just reading something online may not work for some people.

I have a desk job and I am over 50, so exercise is important so that I can eat more and still lose weight. Otherwise my calorie limit is pretty low . . .

The study showed that modest reductions in carbohydrate consumption, down to about 28 to 30 percent of diet, could help tip the scales to weight loss. The makeup of the low-carb group's diet was: 28 percent carbs 40 to 43 percent fat (twice as much poly and monounsaturated compared to saturated) about 28 percent protein…

I have a desk job and find my activity tracker very useful. I have a fitbit and love it, but there are many others. I recently set it for negative calorie adjustments to help motivate to move more during the day.

It is! Don't live near one but eat there every time I visit LA.

Very motivating - thanks for sharing!

The citations listed were hardly broscience. Not trying to change any minds, just thought it was interesting. I had to have emergency gall bladder and my appetite is still way low, so I have been trying to read up on nutrition more than I have in the past.

In this particular study, they focused on eating healthy fats, I believe mostly plant based. They definitely were not eating bacon, sausage, heavy whipping creams etc. Though it did mention that they ate eggs.

All my kids are grown and out of the house. The only thing I really have to add to this conversation is that by the time they're teens, you can't save them from all their mistakes. Often, they learn more from their mistakes than they do from people trying to fix. It has also been my experience that most teenagers are very…

Love my flex!

Shelties for temperment, but lots of fur.

Desk jobs are killers on the amount of calories you can consume each day and lose weight!

My doctor always gave me pages of print outs with very sound nutritional advice as well as information on my health issue.

For some people, the accountability works. Typically people aren't overweight because they lack information, so they aren't joining just for the information.

Are you being treated for the Type II?

It sort of depends on the person. My husband can eat as much sodium as he wants, and he likes things salty. Doesn't seem to effect him at all. I, on the other hand, bloat right up.

I plan in cheat times, but still try to be moderate and make better choices. One day of nachos, pizza and alcohol could undo a weeks worth of work! I have also learned to bank up calories for a weekend away by not eating back my exercise calories during the week before. I end up using the calories just not on the same day.

Good for you. Living well is the best revenge!

Bummer. It is hard for me to stick within a calorie deficit unless I exercise. Just had my gallbladder out which is a set back for exercising. I am most upset about the restrictions on my fitness class for tbe next few weeks.

My daughter was quite skinny growing up, which is a family trait that comes from the other side of the family. I never understood why people thought it was OK to comment on it frequently, often in front of her. These same people would never dream of saying anything in front of an overweight child. So I don't get what is…
