I'm not sure how I could lose weight eating 4000 calories of anything a day.

You look great in the dress. Congratulations!

We like to spend Labor Day with a couple that we're friends with. The weekend usually involves overindulgence. So I just plan on it. I tried to get in 10,000 steps everyday and the week before didn't eat back my exercise calories. Of course I would lose more weight more quickly if I didn't do that, but the occasional…

That's a great way to start. As time goes by you can add more in if you choose to. One tip I would share as you start out is to find a way to satisfy your cravings in a small way.this will help you stay within your calorie limit. For example, I absolutely love ice cream , so I budget some into my day. I buy single serving…

Sounds like a great start. Just don't get too discouraged if you slip a bit. The main difference between those who lose weight and those who don't is that those who do don't give up just because they have a bad day.

Advice worth about what you paid for it . . . If moderation does not work for you, throw yourself into weight loss immoderately. Not advocating anything unhealthy, just that you throw yourself into this new endeavor with passion. Read up on posts by people who have successfully lost weight. Research diet and fitness. Make…

I look up the menus before I go and pick my dinner before hand. This helps keep me from ordering things that will put me over my calories for the day or else helps me plan my day around the spurge.

The main problem that I have with alcohol is that it usually leaves to eating more than I would when not drinking. So it isn't just the alcohol. As long as I stick to one or two, things are fine.

This is what I do. I get up 2 days a week before work and then do my workout at least once on the weekend. I also walk at lunch time - and have an alarm set in outlook to remind me to move every hour. The fitbit really helps me see how much I have moved during the day. At first, this all made me tired . . . but now I have…

From womenshealth.gov *********** Weight gain The amount of weight you should gain during pregnancy depends on your body mass index (BMI) before you became pregnant. The Institute of Medicine provides these guidelines: If you were at a normal weight before pregnancy, you should gain about 25 to 30 pounds. If you were…

I put on 4 pounds on a fun weekend just last weekend. It is almost gone a week later. Most of it must have been bloat from my poor food and drinking choices.:drinker:

I just give the tired old 'eat less, exercise more"
-
I think this is true.

Uncontrolled blood sugar is bad for the brain in the long run . . . save your brain, stay away from the donuts!

Great goal to stay strong during the winter months so that you can go out in the spring looking healthier!
-
Wow - what a transformation - thanks for sharing - great way to start a Monday!
-
Love this one - thanks!
-
Not really. There are lots of people who have perfectly normal blood sugar.

I have wondered about this one for a while. Because I started in very bad shape, I didn't have to work very hard to get my heart rate up. I was working hard for me, but someone in great shape might have to work way harder to get their heart rate up to the same level. So how could we be burning the same number of calories…

If you do want to get information on the internet, this is a good source http://www.diabetes.org/ - it is for the American Diabetes Association.

Don't give up. Keep plugging along and eventually you will lose weight and find the motivation to eat less in social situations:smile: . There won't be a wedding every weekend of your life.
-
Me too!

It took me a long, long time to retrain my taste buds, and I still really love ice cream. I don't know if it will ever go away completely, but eventually it will become less intense. I substitute Greek yogurt for ice cream most times.

I weigh in just about every day.

Is the royal we intentional?

I tried to get my levels down with diet and exercise and they went up. I am not at my ideal level yet but my Doc said that for some it is just genetics. So now I take the pill and also do the diet and exercise. The cholesterol doesn't just lay down plaque in your veins, it also lays it down in the brain . . . Fish oil also…

I love my Aria. I feel that it keeps me honest about my weight since it syncs to MFP. I do leave it in the same spot every day.

Hubby and I are getting in shape together, though I have lots more to lose than he does. We tend to either keep each other on a good path or help each other stray so to speak so we have to be really careful not to 'enable' each other.

There may not be spot fat reduction but toning an area will make it look better with the same amount of fat. I would, however, recommend an overall program since it will help balance out the body.

That is absolutely great!
