Love my Fitbit!

If you are manually entering your steps and do nothing else but sit at a desk you should choose sedentary.

Chances are some of it is water weight. BUT if you suddenly started extreme over eating, you might want to consider not being so extreme in your weight loss plan. In the long run, this might help keep you from a reoccurrence.

I just hit 60 days of logging. I hope I can make that big of a difference over the next 305 days! Thanks so much for sharing.

Unfortunately me. Once I got married I compared my eating with my husband instead of with my girlfriends, and he can eat way more calories than I can. I've had plenty of time to fix this, but haven't.

When I started I set my goal at 5%. Then went for 10%. After that, I set it for the next 10%. Before hitting that goal, I was finally able to admit how much weight I actually needed to lose. The number still makes me feel sort of sick if I think about it too much. At this point it is still an estimate.

Probably some of that is water weight from the high sodium choices. Congrats on getting right back on your plan. It us so hard to let go for a temporary event and then snap out if it so quickly!

I measure almost everything. After reading this thread, I may switch to grams. Sounds easier. I lose more when I measure. Too easy for me to be overly generous in serving sizes when I estimate.

About each 15 to 20 pounds which for me has so far been about a size down. Of course that is also when I got some new clothes . . .

***I strongly recommend that you get with a qualified dietitian who have experience working with diabetic patients as opposed to taking advice from the internet. No one on the internet knows your health history better than the people who are overseeing your health. If you don't trust or have faith in your current team of…

Just don't give up. You may need to adjust how many of your exercise calories to eat back. But if you keep at it, and weigh/measure your food, you will lose fat.

You look great - all your hard work shows!

This is my current favorite!

Completely fun movie. Absolutely loved it!

So when you lose weight do you eventually have fewer fat cells, or do you have the same number of cells but smaller in size?

If you want to see the effect of a starvation diet, just watch survivor. They all seem to lose weight though you can see that some waste away more quickly than others.

Congratulations and keep up the good work. Thanks so much for sharing your story and your pictures. Seeing success stories like yours help keep me motivated!

I used the calculator the other day and the calorie amount ended up being pretty darn close to the MFP calorie recommendation plus eating back about half my exercise calories - which is a recommendation I also see rather frequently. I have a desk job and use a fitbit to track walking and then manually enter other workouts.

Drinking and munching sort of go together for me. Tough one. I don't give it up completely but have to be more careful.
-
The program is simple, but the psychology of sticking with it not so much . . .

My diary is open to friends, but I have been unable to give up wine . . . I try to eat fairly clean.

Thanks for sharing your insights, I found them inspirational. Especially this part **While its very easy some days to just want to let go and go back to my old ways I know that those feelings do not last long. I feel compelled to log my food now and seeing those red number will bring me back to where I need to be. **

Feeling fitter and healthier!

I know for a fact that I have to eat less and work harder to lose weight than some people (my spouse being the most obvious) but I can still do it. I went through a period of time when I was quite resentful (internally) about it, but once I accepted it I am slowly making progress. It can be very discouraging and make it…

The difference is very noticeable. Thanks for the inspiration!

One day I thought I was ill because I was so tired and couldn't figure out what was wrong. Turns out I had accidentally skipped my coffee that morning. I guess I am an addict!

They go well with parsnips too.

Love the tea idea - will try that tonight!

My husband tracked our latest walk with a ap using GPS and the length was within a couple of a 10ths of a mile (fitbit under reporting).
