  • Finally caught Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on PSN for $6. My Vita suddenly resembles a massive rabbit hole.
  • Two Hands Anyhow, even if it is more of a test than an exercise. Pretty sure that Arthur Saxon still holds the record for it, and it was set in the really early 1900s.
  • MH is the rare kind of series that has so much gameplay that the complete lack of story does not detract. In fact, having it there would likely be to it’s detriment. You could think of it as the polar opposite to the Mass Effect games. Their completely *kitten* gameplay is totally offset by the immense and convoluted story…
  • Just finished my first playthrough of Trails of Cold Steel, after buying it two years ago. I’ll be doing one NG+ run before moving on to ToCS 2. After that, I’ll probably have a bit of a wait before 3 is translated to English. That game, Disgaea 5, and the fact that I can remote link to my Vita has me contemplating buying…
  • To be fair and honest, most of the weight and size has come on in the ten weeks since starting TRT. Amazing what proper nutrient partitioning via normalized hormones can do, when you come from eunuch-tier natural levels. Heh.
  • Sitting around 183-184 now. Not sure if getting fluffy or furry. Been too trifling to bother clipping for a while.
  • Because I am pissing away more and more hours on maxing the sphere grid in FFX-HD. I remember being extremely disappointed as a teen when I found out that the Dark Aeon bosses weren’t in the US PS2 version of the game. Now that I have access to those fights on my Vita, I’m determined to get them done, and holy *kitten* the…
  • Currently bouncing between The Waste Lands (Dark Tower III) and The Last Days of Archopalasia. I’m sure that most know what the former is, but the latter is a tie-in book for the Torment: Tides of Numenera game, which is the new(-ish) spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment.
  • Since I was dinged to the thread earlier, I’ll go ahead and throw my personal experience in: Keto bulking was *kitten* for me. All I got was fat, tired, and saw minimal increase in strength, even though I was still in what should have been the “noob gains” stage. I’m sure that some can do fine with it, but I damned sure…
  • Not necessarily. For example, if one simply needed two shorter sessions for schedule reasons, splitting the same volume over two lifting sessions in a day wouldn’t be much of a problem. It does require one to actually make themselves stick to their programming though, because it could be easy to quickly run yourself into…
  • Still at the bulk since August, and will continue to be until the abs start to fade. Scale’s been hovering around 181 for the last few days, and I’m about to head into a high volume block. Last week’s testing sessions for each lift went fairly well. Bench: 200 for 6. Squat: 305 for 6. Overhead: 140 for 7. Deadlift: 395 for…
  • It‘s time as a marketing campaign predated almost anyone who is still alive. By anyone under 100 years old’s time, it had moved into the zeitgeist as accepted “fact”.
  • You could probably add fish oil (or just epa/dha in general so as to avoid offending vegan sensibilities, and flax is not a viable substitute), zinc and magnesium to the health and wellness section. I haven’t met too many people who actually consume enough of any of these via diet alone.
  • Vanity? I’m stuffing my face to fuel physical performance. Narcissistic maybe, but vain? Not so much.
  • When you’re trying to gain mass, the “most important meal of the day” is usually your next one. Granted, most people aren’t as absurdly stubborn about insisting upon whole food bulking as I am, but when you’re trying to get in 3500+ kcals per day, skipping a meal isn’t an option, unless you want to have one that ends in…
  • Haha, I know them feels. I still get a bit lazy and bushy through the winter, but for the most part, I haven’t kept much facial hair since my original 100+ lbs. loss.
  • I ran 5/3/1 for about a year before switching to Juggernaut. It was definitely a pretty solid run, though I never felt like it really challenged me well, until I started adding the Joker sets from Beyond 5/3/1.
  • Have you ever had a full set of bloodwork done? At your age, that might give you the answer.
  • Pretty damned close to the same place where I started lifting (5’10”, 150), after spending some years cutting from my FFG level of 265. I’m a year and a half in, and up about 25 lbs. from my start. Our caloric stuff isn’t too different either. Excellent work thus far. Keep at it, and know there’s at least one other person…
  • Scale’s leveled off again (174) after the recent spike. Feeling great though, hitting PRs in all of the things, and not looking too much worse for the wear.
  • That’s largely because there won’t be anything new. “Stop shoving pizza, pop tarts, ice cream, and cakes onto your face, and your hunger signaling will eventually return to normal” has worked since forever. Everything else is pointless minutia, but ya’ know, “quit eating so damned many Honey Buns and drinking a liter of…
  • I’ve become pretty partial to boiling sweet potatoes, putting them in the fridge for a while, halving them, then spreading cinnamon and cashew butter on them.
  • It does the same to me, unless I combine it with something like eggs and onions, or casein and nut butter. Rice is the same. It’s definitely not just the carb aspect though, as I can slam several potatoes or sweet potatoes by themselves and have zero issues.
  • Getting close to graduating from suck to passable. 325 for ten on deads felt easy this morning after 3x5 with the same. Left some in the tank, so we’ll see what an all out effort looks like with 355, during my Realization set next week.
  • My current morning coffee is just 8 O’Clock’s dark italian espresso (I grind my own beans, and just make in a regular Bunn coffee maker) with 5g of undutched cocoa and a half tsp. of erythritol.
  • Pretty much. I’ll use a recumbent if I’m aiming for nothing more than mindless peddling to get blood flow in the day after squats or deads, whilst reading something. However, when I’m actually on a bike for the purpose of building aerobic capacity and transferable cycling capabilities, the recumbent just doesn’t cut it.
  • Step one: buy bulk whey protein. Step two: buy bulk dextrose. Step three: mix together. Step four: consume. In four steps, you just got the exact same thing, for half (or less) of the cost.
  • I’d concur with this. I primarily hit a lot of sugar when bulking (just by nature of increased kcals), but I’ve had periods where my weight gain completely stalls and actually starts going in reverse for a few weeks, even while consuming upward of 175g of sugar per day. That said, you need to define “shred up”. If you’re…
  • Honestly man, I’ve found my 2x/week dosing to be pretty amazing so far as dodging the roller coaster goes. Unfortunately, the standard is still either 1x/week or once every two weeks, which is just god awful. Luckily, since I’m pinning myself, I have complete control over that, and just divided my dosage in half and do it…
  • Nah, it’s nothing diet related, at least not in this context. Basically, it just turned out that I have the natural hormone profile of a corpse. Literally everything from test, to E2, to T3 was low as hell. Contest shape bodybuilders don’t even get numbers like what I had when they’re at their absolute leanest, I never got…
