Most definitely. I'm not in a paid position for it, but a lot of people have seen my shapeshift, asked for help, and actually taken my advice. One guy in particular comes to mind for this conversation. He kept telling me what a great thing I had done for him. "No dude, it was all you. You had to suffer the caloric…

That future is getting easier and easier to envision, unfortunately.

The Japanese in general are just crazy bench technicians. You see a Japanese PL with a low bench, and they're probably just coming back from an injury.

I'd agree with this. I always get my best results on OHP from hammering it in the 1-5 rep range. The only time it's ever stalled hard on me anymore, is during my absurd cuts. After a few weeks back at maintenance cals, it's right back on it's merry way up. Within spitting distance of 1x bw now (155 max, 165 bw).

Went to an amusement park here six years ago when I was 265 lbs. I fit into almost everything, but the experience was miserable. Went again a few weeks ago at 175 lbs. Much better experience all around. If my n=1 is any indicator, I think we have a solution to this problem.

Read this, and grasp why your focus on carbs may be misplaced, given your concern: http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/how-we-get-fat.html/ We really can't answer the question "is 300g okay" without knowing the full context of your diet and energy needs.

The M3s at worlds were *kitten* crazy this year. Every time I hear someone whining about getting old, when they're in their 40s, I want to show them that stream.

As others have mentioned, due to the differences between beta-carotene and preformed retinol, you're only in danger of hypervitaminosis A if you're getting it from animal sources. About the only way to do this with your caloric values, would be eating liver on a daily basis.

1200-1500 mg/day if I'm not in a restrictive cycle for tolerance dropping. Roughly the amount in 12 cups of coffee.

This. Even if you don't follow the program itself, I recommend Starting Strength to literally anyone wanting to start into lifting, and PP for those wanting to learn more about structuring their own templates. There's just so much good information to be had from those.

Good choice. I think that all of us have to go through that one silly *kitten* fulk though.

After my recent experiences, I'd add conventional deadlifts pulled from a 4" deficit to this as well. Jesus, my poor *kitten* has never had to work so hard. 5x5 at 70% of my floor TM, and my upper glutes are screaming in ways that I didn't know were possible for me.

Regardless of weight, if you're 23% bodyfat, a cut is advisable. Now would be the time to do it as well. Assuming a solid deficit, you could be well down into the 83 kilo class within a couple of weeks, and able to "eat up" toward your meet. Actively dieting while trying to train toward a max effort in the last weeks would…

To be fair, the longest running veterans here seem to be having no issues. Assuming that a dieter accepts reality (CICO) and keeps habits that are conducive to working within the framework of that reality (calorie and weight trend tracking), things seem to keep humming along just fine. It's when people try to go back to…

Details of my protocol are in the thread that I mentioned in my last post. TL;DR- 2g/lbs. LBM protein, 3g fish oil, supps for micros, and nothing else. I run it for two weeks at a time, and average ten to twelve pounds shed in that timeframe, and had zero strength loss in my last one, which just finished about two weeks…

For now anyway. If current trends continue, I give it another four decades (if not less) before his approach would be well applied to the majority. Pretty sad, when you think about it.
-
Not necessarily. I walk an average of 8-10 miles per day between work and random pacing. When I was a truck driver at 150 lbs., my TDEE was about 2100. Now at 165 it's closer to 2800, just from the increased movement that most wouldn't even consider. Granted, I have notably more lean tissue now, but not 700 kcals/day worth.

Except for the part where no, it isn't. https://examine.com/supplements/curcumin/

You...I like you. Could definitely use more of this in here.

Depends upon my main lift for the day. Deadlift: Chelsea Grin, Upon a Burning Body, Fit for an Autopsy, Emmure Squat: Crowbar, Swallow the Sun, Voices from the Fuselage Bench and OHP: Tesseract, Erra, Betraying the Martyr, Novelists

Since I'm late to the party, I'll drop my own here, though it's probably already been hit on earlier in this threadnaut: AAS should be descheduled across the board, and the misinformation and demonization needs to stop. People need to quit their whining, put in some training, and if they've peaked, either shut up or gear…

Pretty much this. There was an interesting hunger/satiety experiment years ago, where all food reward was removed, as people were fed a completely bland liquid, and were told to consume as much as they wanted, whenever hungry. The liquid contained a balanced macro and micronutrient ratio, but essentially tasted like…

Update: this is the closest thing that I could find:…

Ohhh, that I'm not sure of. It's possible though, given the whole hedonic eating thing. Let me see if I can find anything.

Read The Hungry Brain by Dr. Stephan Guyenet. It's sourced out the butt with references, and goes into the neuroscience of overeating. It's also one of the few areas where we are actually very similar to animal models, all the way down to lampreys, because a lot of our actions and inhibitions are controlled by the…

As an FYI, Bioperene is an extract from black pepper that is intended to help with the bioavailability of some compounds. It's put in turmeric supplements because the active anti-inflammatory in turmeric (curcumin) has terrible natural bioavailability, but it's been shown to be improved in the presense of Bio. That said,…

Maintenance and lean bulking really are life. :D

Actual s tarvation mode isn't going to happen in a day (or even a couple). In fact, it's been shown that during the first 72 hours of total fasting, the body's processes actually speed up, in an attempt to push you to be able to acquire food. Power walking does not increase your metabolism (RMR), but it will increase your…

Oh god, yeah that's utterly retarded. I also wasn't aware that they were continuing a glucose feed while disallowing food and pushing the levels back outside of sensible range.

Up to you, but literally everything that I have seen shows that the aspirin does precisely nothing for anyone but the morbidly obese. Well, I guess it does add extra liver work, but I never really saw the benefit in that.
