Not a wedding, but I will be meeting my boyfriend's parents and brother in August. I'm working hard to look my best! I don't have a specific goal loss goal in mind, just to track everything I eat and get in my 10,000 steps each day.

Good job! That's a great start. Start vigilantly tracking your intake, eating less than you expend in a day and the scale will start showing results.

Lots of good advice around here, read it and learn like I have been! Your weight loss is going to come primarily from your intake of calories, not gym time. Get a scale and weigh and track EVERYTHING you eat. Figure out your output in calories per day and make sure you are eating less than that (I think the number is 500…

Awesome! Way to go! You didn't "only last" 40 minutes, lots of people can't make it near that long for their first workout!

I must have chocolate. I buy the Dove dark chocolate promises individually wrapped squares. 42 calories a piece. I break each one in to quarters and let it melt slowly in my mouth rather than chewing it up. By the time I'm done with all four pieces my craving is usually satisfied.
-
I'm a fan of snacks too. I plan for it by bringing healthy snacks to work with me, and always plan my day around a little chocolate.

What does MFP say your intake should be? I imagine at 330 you could eat a fair amount more than that, still drop weight, and not give up due to feeling starved all the time.

Thanks! I found a pair of Clarks tonight that I think will work.

I was disheartened to step on the scale a couple days back and see that I've regained 75 of the 80 lbs I lost a couple years ago. I'm back at it. I've got a new Fitbit to track my activity, am back to vigilantly weighing, measuring, and tracking every little thing that goes in my mouth, am drinking my water, and starting…

Walking is great exercise! I started last April just walking a few blocks around my home. If you have a dog they are great walking buddies. I slowly worked up my distance over many months, to my highest in September when I walked a 1/2 marathon. Now I've lost enough, and feel strong enough that I go work out at the gym 3-4…

Support is great! Feel free to add me :)

I buy the Trader Joe's "Just a Handful" packets in the Omega Mix variety. It's a 170 cal packet of nuts and dried fruit. It's the perfect snack prior to a workout, filled with healthy fats, a little carbs, and protein!

I'm about 80lbs in to my quest to lose 120lbs. Support is a good thing! I've sent you a FR.

1st of all, congrats on joining! I hope you'll find exercise as addicting as I have. I sleep so much better now, and I love all the energy I have. Wear what is comfortable. You don't want to be tugging on clothes or stopping your workout short because what you're wearing doesn't work for you. Well fitting shoes are a…

I keep clothing a size or two under what I currently can wear. It is so exciting to keep trying them on from time to time and finally fit in to them! I've dropped from a size 26 jean to a 16 and it feels great. I've currently got a pair of size 14 and a pair of size 12 jeans waiting for me. I also agree with those who say…

It is so nice! Such an amazing change of perspective. I used to crave days off spent cuddled up on my couch or in bed. Now each week I'm seeking out fun active things to do. I'm really enjoying life.

I'm using the "Get Running" app and highly recommend it. I've signed up for my 1st 5k in December and my goal is just to run the whole thing, no walking. You've already passed that hurdle, congratulations! Each subsequent race will get easier & easier and I'm sure you'll start seeing your speed increase quickly.

I track my entire day in advance on most days-the exception being when I'm planning a meal out. On days I do track ahead of time I go back and make adjustments as needed.

I'm 5'4". I started on January 5th of this year at 280 lbs. I'm now 214. Feel free to add me!

Wow, love the chart! I'm visual too, I love that kind of thing.

I've got 15.6 to go til I'm there. I've added some running, training for a 5k and my month long stall seems to have broken finally! I'm hoping to hit onederland by the New Year, my 1 year anniversary of my health journey. What exercise routine have you adopted that keeps you motivated?
-
Wow, so awesome! I look forward to joining you there soon :)

I love my UP. I wear it in the shower every day. I've had it since May and have had no problems. It is a great tool to aid in this journey.

I've still got 72 lbs to go til I get to goal. I just started the "Couch to 5k" training program this week. I'm sure I'm quite a sight out there huffing, puffing, and turning all red in the face. However, the entire time I'm thinking to myself "Wow, I'm so amazed at what my body can do!". I really don't care what anyone…

In three months I want to be solidly in to Onederland...17.4 lbs to go. I also want to be ready to run in my first 5K. Started C25K yesterday, so far so good :)

Nope, no tips! I know I had a great workout when I am drenched at the end.
