  • I know what you mean @kramrn77
  • W2d1 in the record books for me. Not as bad as I was expecting. Completed the entire program and continued to walk for a bit longer just because I could. I feel great. Now for bottle of water and shower.
  • :D That's awesome!!!! I like the Danskin clothing at walmart. I got a pair of their capris the other day that are light weight and breathable to run in and I love them.
  • It does make a huge difference running outside but I find I do much better outside than inside. Plus there are people on my street that help by cheering me on. It is very hot but I run after 7 pm so it's not as bad and the sun is down some so don't have the direct sunlight beating on me. Good luck and drink plenty of…
  • Thanks. I placed a small bottle of gatorade at the end of my drive way and if I needed it I would pause just long enough to take a sip then sit it back down. Once the C25K set was done I continued to walk to complete my 10K steps and picked up the bottle and drank it while walking and it seemed to help.
  • I got some thin running Capris. I love them. Feels so much better than the yoga style I've been wearing. Thanks for all the input.
  • @samra. thanks. I didn't think it would be worth it to carry one but heat index today was over 100 so thought I might need it. but I've got those little bottles of Gatorade so may take that just in case today
  • I'm doing w1d3 today. Have to wait for it to cool off some humidity and heat index way to high to run right now. But after about 7 or so it cools off enough for me to run without much problem. Question tho. Is it better to keep a water bottle with you during runs? I usually just get done and drink a bottle of water then.…
  • Thanks. I changed the battery anyway cause it kept resetting my steps to 0. Idk what was wrong with it. But it's working fine now. Thanks for your help
  • Thanks. No I hadn't tried that. Will have to give it a try. Will it keep my steps tho? But I guess it doesn't matter. Will have to replace the battery anyway.
  • I love the map my apps. They have worked great for me during walking running or biking.
  • Hey. I'm new to the group. I haven't been on a bike in probably 20 years. Just bought an old murray Monterey cruiser bike today and just did my first 3 mile ride. I know that isn't far but since I hadn't been riding in so long thought I better start slow. Any tips for a new rider? Also anyone can add me as a friend. I can…
  • I was think the same thing. I thought pilates would be good. I do the same on Sundays. Lol
  • I prefer to run outside. Try going to a park or track rather than the gym. I find that I enjoy the run so much better if it's outside. I feel way more free
  • Yeah I need to get some thinner Capris. I only have the yoga style ones.
  • Started c25k tonight. Did w1d1. Feel great and so happy to finally get it kicked off.
  • Thank you so much for the info guys. It's nice to know we are not alone in this fight. I will probably stick with my Capris and tanks for now but may check out some of the gear you all have suggested. And yeah I'm genetically built with large thighs. Thanks again. And good luck to you all. God bless
  • Thank you so much for all this awesome advice. I am only just now getting started on C25K and I mean just getting started. W1D1. I used to run back when I was in school but since getting married and having a kid I got out of it and now time for me to get back into it and with the advice you guys have given, it gives me the…
  • Absolutely. I'm going to start the C25K program and can't wait to use this as my motivation to keep running! ;)
  • That is so awesome! Love that the kids are so into it. My son loves it too. And yes a lot of running. LOL
  • Thanks. Been baking chicken and such for a while but just seems to get boring after a while and want something new and different but still like the "good old favorites" Just gonna keep trying to come up with new ways of cooking.
  • LOL.....Sorry it took so long to get back with you. Had some health issues and different things happen to where I could not get on here and take care of my weight loss stuff. Anyway. I will check out that site and see if I can find some recipes on there that I can try. (I'll send you a friend request)
  • I am so looking forward to getting back into running. This is some great info to get back into it. I haven't really ran since I was in College (many years ago LOL). I loved to run back then and no one can understand the feeling of being free as when I go for a run. It just really lifted my spirits. So ready to get back at…
  • I use mapmywalk. I love it. It tells you how far you've gone and your speed and average and all sorts of stuff plus you can play your music along with it and automatically logs it into mfp. You can also use it to count other forms of exercise.
  • I totally agree. The fit bit is way better than a regular pedometer. I think it's way more accurate.
  • Thanks. that is basically what I needed. A place to start. Once I get used to having one and using it I think it would make things easier but I didn't know how to get started so if there is a basic "starter" one to use then I can expand on it later on. (*)
  • Hey All....I love my fitbit zip. I wear it every day. I love how it is way more accurate than any other step counter I've tried. Feel free to add me both on FitBit and MFP https://www.fitbit.com/user/23KSKJ
  • Hello everyone. I am also excited to have found this group. Been looking for a group with Christian values to go along with our weight loss values. o:) I look forward to working hard and praying hard with all of you. God Bless you all!!
  • Thank you all. Your suggestions were very helpful. Do any of you have a suggestion on an app for meal planning so I can make a shopping list with or do you just do most of it on paper or a calendar?
  • Thanks everyone. I love Pink, Black Eyed Peas and Evenesence. They are some of my favorites. Your suggestions really help.
