  • It was me who mentioned the low calorie goals thing. I thought you meant you had set MFP to that rate of loss, but if it's 1lb a week then that's a bit easier to work with! I like the Dr Oetker pizzas too, they're very tasty. Much easier to fit into your calories than a pizza from Dominos (although I do often crave pizza…
  • Pizza is the main thing I crave too, sad that it's one of the highest calorie items you can get! At a 2lbs loss per week I guess you've got quite a low allowance so it could be tricky to fit pizza PLUS chocolate cake into one day (even with exercise). So you might want to look at your week as a whole and be a bit lower on…
  • I don't usually fancy breakfast during the working week, so I just grab an Alpen Light bar (jaffa cake flavour - yum!). It's 65 calories and has 4.4g of fibre which I think is pretty impressive. I'm UK-based so don't know if these are available elsewhere.
  • In terms of keeping to my weight loss goal, I find having meals already planned in helps stop me thinking "sod it I'll have a pizza" when stressed. It's also one less thing to worry about. In terms of general stress reduction I'm not very good at that! But something that makes me laugh will always help.
  • I didn't see the program but do like Michael Mosely's stuff, generally very interesting and balanced. Glad to see them raising the issue of anti-oxidants. The idea of them being something healthy to seek out has been discredited many times over. Check out Ben Goldacre's book Bad Science which has a great chapter on it.
  • I've been getting Graze boxes for a few years now (they're not new - have been going since 2009), and they used to include fresh fruit which was great. I think they had to stop that due to supply problems though. I get one box a week now and have one of the four punnets each day as a healthy snack. Some of the things you…
  • My motivation is my wife who has lost over 100lbs this year. She's a superstar to me and although I was only a little overweight I wanted to join in with the health kick. Oh, and I wanted to flatten that beer belly!
  • The OP said she would cheat unless her diary was open, so not judgemental. Trying to make the point that everyone is different so it's silly to suggest everybody should open their diaries by default.
  • Sounds like you are the kind of person who has little willpower and will cheat if you haven't got someone looking over your shoulder. That's fine, open your food log and get the opinions of others. I am not one of those people, so I'll keep mine private thank you very much and carry on losing 2lbs a week.
  • LOL! I'm from the UK and as far as I know we don't have meat in a tube here, that's why it freaked me out! Mmm turkey toothpaste!
  • I always weigh it dry. Pretty sure that's what you're meant to do.
  • I agree with christophenes above. I'm also 6' 2", have always had a skinny build, but found when I got into my 30s my belly started expanding and my face starting getting rounder! I started on MFP at 187lbs and am aiming for the same target as christophenes - 12 stone (168lbs). That puts me nicely in the lower-middle of…
  • I'm partial to the Henneys dry cider. 220 cals though!
  • I'm a big cider fan too and found out about Cidre only being 150cals by accident recently and was quite surprised, so it went top of the list for me (despite not being my favourite). I was stung by a Rekorderlig strawberry & lime recently, only finding out later how bad it was calorie-wise. I was really annoyed with myself…
