my wife and I will be running the Drumstick Dash. First event we ever did (walked it). It serves as a reminder as to how far I've come (2011 5k walker to 2013 Monumental half runner).

This is me! Sometimes I think loosing the weight was easier than changing the way I look at myself.

will they still run it if it rains?

2014 goals for me: - Sprint tri (really need to pick up the swimming) - Bourbon Tour Bike ride - Tough Mudder not to forget where I came from, continue to move, and have fun!

Wine at the line was my first 5k and that was last year. Its a great event and I definitely plan on returning this year for the 5 mile run.
-
I may try to make this.

I wish I had taken a before picture...but to get really deep, I wish I would have taken my health seriously well before 40.

Me neither Coolhand. I spent the weekend doing absolutely nothing! It was nice but Tuesday I will be back at it as I signed up for Bloomington Patriot Challenge this coming weekend. It will be the first event Ive ever done by myself...looking forward to seeing how well I can place overall. Anyone else signed up for this…

It has been quiet in here! Coolhand, You can find that motivation. Tell us what your up to? I ran 6 miles around the canal DT this morning. I'm thinking I've got along way to go for the Monumental in Nov. but I'll do my best. In the mean time I just picked up a used road bike and have started logging some miles. Anyone…

In my opinion I suggest shopping for a gym that has a real free weight section (one that has dumbbells past 70lbs) then search the internet for a good 5x5 workout program. Nothing against trainers, but all the info you need to start is on the web. The hardest part is finding the drive to go (4-5 days a week EVERY week) and…

As I'm just returning from vacation...my liver says no alcohol for a month. I want to run (or try to run) the Monumental in the fall so I think I need to up my miles with one long run a week. Its been all 5k's and 10K's till now.

20 miles in. I leave for Florida at the end of the week...I look forward to beach running but as I recall its hard.

I ran the firecracker 6 downtown and not only was it my longest official run ever but I turn in a 57.12 time. I'm pretty proud of that.

My wife has been as high as 795 and as low as 620. Believe me when she smiles at me I'm not thinking of her status on the slave scale. Years ago I strived to be a good three digit number...but I'm here to tell you that number doesn't open the doors it used to but cash always does.
-
Ill shoot for 30 miles this month.

My july cycling goal is to buy a road bike! But man, bikes are a lot more money than I remember them as a kid. So until I hit the loto, I'll have to settle for the stationary bike at the Y on Tuesdays an Thursdays.

From a guy with a seven figure debt load...I suggest opening your horizons to the guys with cash and no or low debt. After all a credit score is only a measure of how good of a slave you are. Believe me, at times I feel owned and can appreciate those with financial freedom.

my wife and I will be there!

41/50 I may squeeze in 3 more tomorrow for 44...I can live with that. Thanks for the challenge!

Good to know Im not alone! I got 3 more today for a total of 18. I'll still shoot for 50 but if it doesn't happen I still succeed in being the best I can be.

At 40 I can say I'm in the best shape of my life. Its a struggle to make time with a wife, 5 year old, and three jobs. Feel free to add me...I intend to make my 40's the best ten years of my life.

planned to get some miles this weekend but my 5 year old had other plans...honestly I had more fun playing on the Southeastway park playground than running around it. So 6 miles this weekend and I'm still behind at 15 total. On a good note, new shoes from the Blue Mile have me hoping for less pain. And way to go…
