  • I wish MFP had a 'like' button.
  • I have to disagree with that. I went through a period where I lost about 30 pounds a few years ago and I got a lot of "Have you lost weight? Don't lose any more, you look like you're dying." This was when I was 135 pounds. Hardly starving. I also had other people tell me I looked good. By the end of the day I was exhausted…
  • Not too long ago my mom said "if your grandparents or great-grandparents wouldn't recognize it as food then don't eat it." This is probably the best advice I've ever heard. Get rid of all the stuff that's filled with chemicals - packaged foods, processed food, non-fat chemical-filled stuff - and go back to the basics. It's…
  • I like how you think - two weeks from now it will all be behind me. Cheers to that!
  • Oh dear, I hope you start things up again. Don't let anyone on a website hurt you so much that it stops you from moving forward. I'm getting back on board effective immediately and I hope you do too
  • I just did the same thing. My activity level has been set at sedentary and I've been told to eat 1300 calories (I've been doing that for about 5 weeks and I've lost 10lbs). I actually move a fair bit during the day so I changed it to lightly active just to see what it would do and it moved me up to 1450 calories - but both…
  • SW 165 CW (as of yesterday morning) 155 GW 145 I'm pretty sure my first couple of pounds were water weight so I think realistically I've lost 8 pounds since joining this group. I'd like to be 150 by Christmas. I'm feeling pretty confident I can do it but there are a lot of holiday parties coming up! Good luck everyone…
  • I'm so happy - this week I fit into pants I haven't been able to get into for a year and my BMI shifted from "overweight" to "normal". Being part of this group has really helped me stick to my calorie goals
  • I mix up yoga (both Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels videos because they're slightly more athletic), Tae Bo, and running. Love mixing them up!
  • Ack, I forgot to log again! But I weighted myself this morning and I'm the same. I gained a pound after my initial weigh in but lost it by today. I consider it a success :)
  • A couple of years ago I lost 45 pounds due to a bout with severe depression and anxiety. I was very skinny and I had tons of people coming up to me saying how lucky I was and wishing they could trade places with me. I can assure you, it was the worst I've ever felt and I would have gladly traded places with an overweight…

  • I lost six pounds in my first week. I know it was mostly water weight but it still felt good!
  • I gained 40 pounds while on antidepressants. (I was underweight when I started.) Since going off them I've lost 15 and I'm hoping to lose another 15. It took a while though - I went of the meds in February and didn't start losing until about June.
  • I'm in! My weight has yo-yo'd up and down by 30 pounds over the last few years. I started MFP yesterday at 165 and I would love to be between 145-150 by Christmas (I'm female, 5'7"). Maybe being accountable to all of you will help keep me motivated :)
