You'll want to do both. Cardio will help you burn calories to help lose the weight while strength training (especially heavy lifting) will preserve muscle while you lose. It's better to be concerned about how your body looks verses the number on the scale.

I WOD in the evening and usually have a half serving each of almonds and dark chocolate M&M's about an hour or so before. If I'm running late then it's just the almonds. Much more than that and I'll be putting my name on the trash can. I've tried other things and that's what seems sit the best.

Yep. Sprint in Charlotte in March, Asheville or Virginia for Super (pre-reg mode right now) and Beast in first of November in the Charlotte area. Also planning on a Rugged Maniac in April and Tough Mudder in the fall. Gonna be a fun year!!!

You may also want to look into swimming and water aerobics if they're available to you. I had a severe ankle sprain this summer and was in the pool in water aerobics 6 days after injury. the only thing that bothered me was the jumping so I didn't jump as high and pushed off harder on my good foot.
