Sorry Napompl, don't swing that way. But I'd be friends :)

Downeast Maine!!!

The biggest thing to remember is you can eat whatever you want, you just have to pay attention to portions and timing. I love oreos, I don't eat half a box at once, but I can have a couple as a treat. Focus on what you CAN eat, not what you can't. Don't think in the terms of "diet" or eventually you will want to be off it.…

Good luck! I will probably get into swimming more soon. My knee has been bothering me so that would probably be a good alternative.

I know you're not supposed to weigh yourself everyday, but first thing in the morning I go to the bathroom and then weigh myself. Most of the time, if I'm eating right and exercising I am either the same or down weight. Even if it's only .2 lbs, it's exciting to see the scale going down. Success is a great way to start the…

Oh fun! I live over 30 minutes from my work which is also where my gym is so I'll be adventuring in the woods later I'd say for my workout. I just got some new boots too so I'm looking forward to breaking them in. We are supposed to get around 6-8 inches of snow here in my rural part of Maine today.

I am sure some people smarter than me have figured out how to scam the system, but there are some obstacles in place to help. 1. When you sign up, you are given a word (within 2 days of the official start, no sooner) and you have to take a picture of the scale with the word. 2. You also have to do a before shot of yourself…

This has already crossed my mind. For me to be successful in this bet, I need to lose 8.8 lbs in a month. While this is more than I have ever lost in a months time, I also know it is completely do-able for me, if I stay focused. Usually after a week or two I start to sneak in little "cheats" so this dietbet has helped keep…

Did you decide to join? If so, how is it going so far? I am currently doing the "Sarah's Summer Slim Down" Dietbet. It is my first diet bet and so far it has been very helpful. Other times when I have wanted to "cheat" on my diet, I figured it was only me who would know or be affected, but now it affects my wallet. And…

True story lol

Love this! Although I am sorry to hear that you have lost motivation, the post itself cracked me up (similar to the obituaries you read for common sense, etc). I hope you are able to find motivation quickly. I recently found him myself and hoping he sticks around along with his cousin Determination. :)

Wow I was gone from MFP for a few weeks and this thread went off like wild fire. To those concerned about my safety at work, thank you. With that said, I would have NEVER even thought of trying this during the fishing season. A friend in college did it and spoke highly of the experience and I was looking for more input. My…

Well I must say this exploded more than I expected lol With all the talk of cleanses and / or fasts it is something that I have considered but never done but have been curious about. When searching, you can easily find many articles on both sides of the fence so I guess I was looking for personal stories surrounding the…

Hey Jazzyoma, thanks for the friend request and welcome to the challenge. I am really excited about it, however I haven't had the strength to join in my own challenge yet :( I came down sick with a bad cold (barely left the couch or bed yesterday). I am finally feeling better and although I am coughing a lot and such, I'm…

Love 30 Day Shred! You will be sore, but it's a great place to start. The moves are simple (jumping jacks, push ups, lunges, squats, etc) so there is not major choreography to learn which makes it more do-able. I really like it, you will be sore the first week but your body will adapt.

So true and I'm guilty of not posting too lol I actually made a conscious effort to stop although I wanted to keep going. About 4 days into Shred, my bf said that he thought he could beat me at losing weight. Challenge accepted. It was decided that our start day would be Monday. So knowing that I had already lost the water…

I can already taste sweet victory, after just one day I am down 2.2 lbs. Who cares if some is water weight, it still counts. But I can't rest because I know that when he has good eating days, I will have to watch out because I'm sure he will drop weight faster than me.

It's circuit training so I log it in my exercise log under "circuit training, general"

I have found blogging to be really helpful in keeping me focused. I am always honest in my blogs so by knowing that I will have to put updates on my blog, it helps to keep me accountable. I also try to post at least once a day on Twitter. My blog is http://www.carolynschallenge.com You can follow me on Twitter @CsChallenge…

Staying in motion is what is important. As long as you are pushing yourself, you will see improvements. Make sure you pay attention to the modified options. I have had to modify some of the cardio because of a knee injury in college. I can't jump really high in the jump rope parts because right now the impact is too much.…

Today was my second day of level 1 and right now I am not worried about leveling up. If I am getting a good workout from level 1, I don't see a need to worry about leveling up. In theory I would like to do 10 days of each, but if I need to spend more or less on one level. I'm not worried about it. If it takes a month of…

WOW! That definitely shows how small my community is in comparison. You have more students in your K to 6th grade school than we have people on the island I live on. The school I usually sub at is the next town over, my actual town only has about 55 students PreK-8th grade. When I subbed in my town's school yesterday it…

Nothing more honest than a child. They don't waste time on being tactful. I am a substitute teacher (such a fun job to have in the off season) and I am SO motivated to get in better shape by the students. I haven't heard any mean comments yet (we have great kids in a small community, less than 80 in Pre-K to 8th grade) but…

Great idea! I don't know why I didn't think of that. Although I'm not sure if my internet would allow the video to play through 20 minutes without freezing. Thanks for all the input everyone. I was truly blow away to see so many respond so quickly and with so many positive reviews of the workout, it is really encouraging.…

Cucumbers would be a yummy add to this. I love dill pickles, but separately from prepared foods. If I am making a sandwich or something I like to use a sweeter pickle. But I definitely will have to try the cucumber thing!

I have to try this, hot hot were the peppers? My mild Maine blood can't take too much heat, but I don't mind something with a little kick behind it.

I know what you mean nomoon20, I'm a huge bread fan too. But I like this as a mid morning snack, before I break out the wheat bread. Old habits die hard and I'm used to always snacking between strings (a string is a group of traps in the same area, usually a line). This is the perfect low calorie snack for that. I usually…

My weight so often is like a yo-yo...lose 10, gain 15, lose 20, gain 10...but it's all learning. Whether it is learning how to stay motivated and keep will power or learning your triggers (I'm a stress eater and often don't take time to prepare healthy meals). Once we know the causes for bad decisions, we can work to make…

I haven't joined any groups, not sure how all that works yet.
