• Here's a running calculator I use to gauge my calorie burn: http://www.runnersworld.com/tools/calories-burned-calculator Of course, I'm sure there's some margin of error to it, but I think it's overall decent. I don't run as much as you, just 3 to 5 miles, but if I burn say 300 calories running 3.3 miles, I only eat half.…
• I think, even if people respond with what seems like helpful things they "cut out," it's going to be body specific. Just because no ___ helps personx doesn't mean that doing so will help you. Just continue with what you're doing, you'll see results! Best wishes to you.
• yogurt is generally 80 to 100 calories. berries, or a small piece of fruit. jello as others said, topped with whipped cream if you have the calories (20 calories per tbsp) mini marshmallows small square of chocolate cup of hot chocolate sugar free pudding
• my physical therapist suggested I do the stationary bike when I hurt my knee running. Also the elliptical machine is pretty gentle on knee. I'm not too sure about non-machine cardio workouts that are easy on the knee...
• Wow firstly, that's a bunch of malarkey! You do not "bulk" up by any means. I'm not sure you realize how difficult it is for a female to get bulky weight lifting. Higher reps at a lower weight is simply a waste of time and energy. Most weight lifting programs will suggest heavy weight and less reps. Also, "toning" is the…
•
That's why I don't eat meat. Tyrannosaurus Rex fed meat to their babies and those suckers grew up to be 7.5 tons. I cut all meat out of my diet and I haven't had the urge to scavenge on the carcass of a hadrosaurus since then! Do some research on the effects of meat in your diet!
hahahahaha beautiful
• Only a professional can determine if you truly have binge eating disorder. It is of course a painful and harmful mental state to be in. I hope you discuss this soon with your health provider. And you should NEVER allow another person to dictate and control your choices. If this guy would honestly leave you for putting on…
• I would say keep eating protein. It helps to keep you full and nourished. That doesn't sound like an extremely high amount...so i don't think you have an issue of eating too much protein. So long as it fits in your calorie limit, you'll still hit your weight goals. It's calories in, calories out. :)
• I'm right there with ya! I'll have a nice streak and then...I become lax. Motivation can only come from within the individual, but I can tell you right now, you are capable of this! If you can go solid for three weeks, I know you can make it to four weeks! One step at a time! To keep myself focused and with "the eye on the…
• I would say it's "cheating." If if you're not concerned about calories, those food items still have carbs so if that's what you care about tracking, then you need to log those items to be sure you're hitting the carb limit you have set for yourself.
• Not a problem! Best of luck to you with your goals and your health!
• The reason you eat them back is to fuel your workout/body. MFP already puts you at a calorie deficit (unless you're maintaining). To consistently put yourself into a lower deficit will over time zap your energy, possible put you in a nutrient deficiency, and will most likely make you miserable!
• you're supposed to eat back some of your calories burned through exercise. why only some? Because of the calorie-burned amounts are bit generous, for example the treadmill will say you burned 300 calories running 3 miles, but really your burn was somewhere around 270 or 280. So you eat back around 50 to 75% of those…
• I'm sorry, let me reiterate. "Mom makes a breakfast" One would assume if they actually read the statement it would mean one meal. So again, is that what you're reading or judging? Either way, it shoud be of no concern to you or anyone else. My living arrangement wasn't up for question or debate.
I don't think…
• Eating at a calorie deficit helps with weight loss. Exercise will help with fitness but you cannot rely on exercise to correct a poor diet. If you like running intervals on the treadmill, go for it! Running is a great way to exercise. But if you hate running, I would say skip the interval training! It won't give you that…
• I would just mention what you mentioned yourself...weigh your foods! Do not use cups or tablespoons. (like what the heck is even a cup of pasta? You can totally over pack a cup or tablespoon.) Buy a scale, and be honest and record everything you eat/drink. Best wishes to you.

• popcorn, yogurt, fruit, carrots...lots :)
• You ought to give yourself credit for going through this at all! Emotionally, psychologically, physically, financially...it must be so much to deal with at once! Don't beat yourself up! Take it all one day at a time! You can do this. You're strong enough to face this and get through. You'll be strong enough to meet your…
• learn to love vegetables! Seriously! You can eat 3 to 5 servings of green vegetables like broccoli, spinach, zucchini, green beans, ect...and the calories are around 85 to 120 depending on what you choose. That's for 3 to 5 servings! Thats a lot of food! Go for the greens
• I would say get something like an icecream cone. It's probably a splurge, everything at the fair will be! But you can eat relatively slowly and it's not terrible. Or if you really want to, you could bring your own food--sandwich, apple, whatever have you.
• Great work!!
• Thanks! This is exactly what I was thinking. I just wanted to others opinions. Especially parents or young adults. I'm going to stick with my "you have to eat breakfast" .
Not a problem! Good luck to the both of you! And I'm sure you do this already, but make sure you're very supportive and encouraging towards your…
• I'm not an expert, doubt that any of us are...but I am just barely beyond my teen years, I'm 21, and I lost a good bit when I was an overweight 15-17 year old. I definitely found that breakfast helped me stay focused and attentive during class and carried my energy throughout the day. When I didn't eat breakfast, I often…
• I usually get anywhere from 10 to 13, depending upon what intensity, resistance, and height I have it set for. Sometimes I burn 500 in 45 minutes, other times only 445 calories. I think that's reasonably accurate. I don't know why people rag on elliptical machines! I love the elliptical, I don't find it boring, or "too…
• I think as long as you have a balance of protein, an adequate intake of veggies and fruit, you should be fine! Also, you can eat whatever you like, so long as its in your calorie range, and you can still lose weight. So, if those choices are tasty to you and satisfying, I'd day you're fine! Maybe try adding more vegetables…
• It is a source of a protein, but it really doesn't have that much. To get an adequate amount of protein from peanut butter, you'd need like 3 or 4 servings! And for the calories...typically 180 per serving, not worth it! IMO. I think it gets promoted as a "healthy food" just because it's not a bad way to get fat, as…
• Hey same here! It's so hard with the final few! I find that it sometimes helps to take a break, like one or two days off. Not of cheat meals! Like still same food you generally eat, and similar proportions, but just not measuring to just give yourself a mini mental break to ease up. I often get really critical of myself so…
• Way to go! You look fabulous! :)
• mostly just eating/ grazing without being conscious of how much I was taking in. I'd have a handful of chips here, a bite of this, a bit of that, handful of cereal, never realizing that a bite here and a bit there can easily add up to well over 500 calories! Tracking definitely helps me decide if I "need" a handful of…
• Oh gosh, yes! It is NOT a compliment to be told that you're not a human, just a sex object, that someone has decided that if he or she wanted to, they could just up and have you. Like, yeah, thanks. I'm so flattered.
