  • Dried fruit, nuts, granola bars, high fiber cereals, rice cakes, peanut butter, apples...
  • Bump for later when I have some time to try out new recipes :)
  • This is great stuff!! I recently started kickboxing but want to get back into heavy lifting on alternate days - seems like the benefits are pretty clear! Maybe I'll check out the New Rules of Lifting for Women!! I'm going to check out some of the links on here once my trial is over and try to learn more as I make the final…
  • I understand the working long hours - it makes it MUCH harder to eat healthy. I've started packing a lot so that I can have healthy snacks on hand and making excuses to go for walks throughout the day. Some days I don't have time for a long workout but by watching calories and sneaking in some walks I have managed to stay…
  • Good luck! My goal date is August 27 (so that I can maintain until my Sept. 15 wedding and get appropriate alterations) - but feel free to add me for support! I plan to continue with MFP for a while to maintain the lifestyle change. Logging food and getting support on here has made a huge difference in my journey! Best of…
  • What about a cucumber salad? Its cool and fresh for summer and you already have cucumbers. I'm assuming you also have some extra virgin olive oil at home, salt and pepper and perhaps some red wine vinegar? Just cut up the cucumbers, mix in some olive oil, salt, pepper and a bit of red wine vinegar if you have it. Can spice…
  • It can be hard - I found that when I was studying the bar and then shortly thereafter my job at a large law firm I stopped putting my health first. Its less about the weight and more about learning to put your health and wellness first. Its not easy and it won't be perfect but take small steps to put your weight and health…
  • I love their seasoned fish fillets! Salmon and tilapia. Ready to throw in a pan and cook! They are delicious - often we just serve them over some of the instant brown rice. I also love their Greek yogurt and mini pearl grape tomatoes (not to be eaten together of course ;) ). I'm still checking it out - usually just run in…

  • I will probably get a spray tan! I am going to do a trial the day before my bridal shower/bachelorette party weekend to test it out. I got some recommendations from other local brides for a good place but still want to test it. I am hoping to get naturally tan, but there are no guarantees so I'd like to have a backup plan!

  • Great idea :) Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
  • BUMP - I need to use my slow cooker more often! These recipes sound fabulous!
  • Congrats!!! My total goal (at least initially) is 18 pounds so I think that your 15 pounds is a great accomplishment. It has been very difficult to fully commit myself to losing and staying on track, perhaps because the number isn't quite so daunting. As I get closer to my goal weight I am trying to focus more on body fat…
  • ^^^ this! Don't tell yourself that you will wear them again some day. Vow to NEVER wear them again
  • Bump - something to consider...
  • Stuck late at the office but brought some workout clothes - maybe I'll close my door and try to do these for a quick break :)
  • Wow! 10 lbs in one month is fabulous! Looks great and I'm sure adding in the workouts will make a big difference! Good luck :)
  • Great job!!! You can keep up with this - its all about learning how to make your health and fitness one of the priorities in your life. Good for you :)
  • Let me know how the green one turns out - sounds good in theory but not sure I could stomach spinach in drink form...
  • Today I plan to have mixed grilled veggies at lunch along with an apple. For snack I packed a whole cucumber, one cup of baby carrots, and one cup of grape tomatoes with hummus. For dinner I'm going to have a big salad with shrimp, avocado, tomato, cucumber, hearts of palm and romaine lettuce! Today's challenge goes well…
  • Sounds like you are doing everything right :) You should have no problem meeting your goals for your wedding! Where do you do water aerobics?! Sounds like a fun alternative to normal gym workouts!! GOOD LUCK!
  • Burned a little over 400 today on a run. So far I have 919 cals burned for the week. Better get moving these next 5 days to meet the goal! 2581 to go!!
  • You could also brush your teeth when you are done eating for the day - after dinner or after your evening snack. Things don't taste as good after you've brushed your teeth and it might help to signal to yourself that you are done eating for the day!
  • bump - sounds great :)
  • You are well on your way - great job! Looks like you will be tough to keep up with
  • Good point on the protein shakes! I will probably keep my milk since its more food (just like eating some cheese or yogurt, right?!). I will just stay away from tea and any sort of soda/juice today! So far I have had 7 cups of water already and its just about noon. Here's hoping I can keep it up the rest of the day and not…
  • Love this challenge! It will be sure to keep me motivated all week! Started off with a 501 calorie burn today doing a weight lifting/cardio routine! Would love to see a pound come off :)
  • What about milk?! I already had a glass of milk and a protein shake before I saw this. I drink about 2 glasses of milk a day and I'm not sure I'd like to cut that out. But I will try not to drink any tea today and stick to water :) Going to be a long day at work so this could be a tough one!
  • I went to the grocery store this morning! I bought fresh tilapia, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, hummus, carrots, pepers, strawberries, greek yogurt, spinach (for salads) and a bottle of chardonnay :) Planning to make some salads for lunch with tuna and with leftover salmon from the weekend and to snack on more veggies to cut…
  • Hi Wandering! Sounds like you are very focused and ready to make this happen! I think your attitude will make you very successful. I am impressed by your ability to sacrifice. I eat Greek yogurt and fruit every day! Should definitely swap out for some veggies though and I LOVE laughing cow cheese! Just need to find…
  • Went out for lunch and had a tomato and mozzarella salad instead of a yummy sounding dessert :)
