  • Hi! I originally joined the app while getting ready for my wedding. Now - 8 years and two kids later I am back to try to lose the stubborn baby weight. My youngest is 13 months and I have at least 20 pounds to lose... Would love to link up with others in the same boat!
  • I am due mid-July. The beginning was tough with fatigue to stay on track with workouts and veggies (who wants a salad in the winter?!) but I am looking forward to turning the corner on fatigue as I head into the second trimester and hopefully get into a more consistent routine with exercise and healthy eating. Feel free to…
  • I am 12 weeks pregnant and hoping that I am just about over the fatigue hump (I hear second trimester is pretty good!). Feel free to add me to stay motivated on the journey - starting to get back to healthy eating and consistent exercise post-holidays but also to listen to my body and know that I won't be able to do…
  • Under the "Food" tab there is a "My Meals" and "Recipes" tab. You can select either one to import the ingredients you use and then label it accordingly to just add with one click later! Hope this helps and WELCOME!
  • Hello all! My name is Becky. I am training for my FIRST full marathon on October 26, 2014 - the Marine Corps. Marathon in the DC/VA area. My husband and I are training together, which has been really great. I had a foot surgery last year to fix a painful bunion and started running again in late February of this year. The…
  • I agree with those saying to log anyway even if its a bad day. It holds you accountable and could help stop you if you log before/while you are eating something that may push you over your calories for the day. Just take it one day at a time, but accept that the journey is not a straight line - there will be a lot of highs…
  • I agree with Dee! Also - even though you had two weeks off you will find that you will regain your running conditioning faster than it took you to reach the point where you were when you got sick initially (if that makes sense). It won't take as long for your body to get back to the running shape it was in. Don't be too…
  • I agree with a lot of what I am seeing on here. I am in the final phases (hopefully) of recovery for plantar fasciitis that began in August. First, I took some time off (just a couple of weeks) from ALL working out. Then I reintroduced elliptical and cycling - being careful on the elliptical to keep my feet flat and not…
  • I was injured for a while and just started back into running again - training for a 10 miler in April. I was a pretty avid runner for a while so it was hard to be down and out. Since my injury my weekly training buddy has moved. I run with my husband on the weekends but I'm on my own during the week. Hoping to run my first…
  • I think you should go ahead and go to a specialty store and get something, like a bustier, that you think is comfortable/supportive. That way you can try that on with the dress and then the dress place can let you know if they think that is the best option or if they can do something better/different right into the dress.…
  • I think this looks good! I wouldn't cut out weight lifting. The lifting can really help you increase endurance and speed by keeping your muscles strong. The interval training will also help with speed, as well just continuing to tack on more time running to train your body. Don't overdo it but gradually start adding some…
  • Ditto to this! I kind of like the sore feeling as a reminder I pushed myself :) Just don't push it if you are actually feeling pain and not just soreness. If you are just sore you can take your pain killer of choice (especially if your soreness makes it hard to sleep at night) drink plenty of water, and get up and walk…
  • Fantastic results - great motivation to stick with it :)
  • Wherever you go just scope out the menu before hand and plug it into your diary. Fish is usually a good option and opt for veggies or a salad instead of fries if you do decide you want to indulge in a steak. And if you go for steak - try to go for a leaner cut, like a filet. Pre-logging and sticking to your plan will help!…
  • Just started with New Rules on Tuesday!! I did my first round of B today. I was still feeling pretty sore from Workout A on Tuesday but feel MUCH better now! Sometimes you just gotta get back in there and workout to get rid of the soreness. I have started out with pretty light weights to get my form down but am going to…
  • Good for you for going to a heavier weight and challenging yourself! That will definitely make you stronger! I did light weights the first time through to get used to the exercises but I'll be picking up the 15 pounders for the shoulder press next time!!
  • Did my second workout today. I might redo the first two workouts because I definitely need to increase my weights. Its been a while since I lifted and I just wanted to get a feel for some of the exercises. I don't have a bar to use so I do everything with dumbbells. I also don't have the lat pull down or anything to use…
  • I just started today! Feel free to add me if you want :) My goal is to do the lifting Tuesday, Thursday and either Saturday or Sunday depending on my weekend schedule. I do love feeling a bit sore after a workout so I am looking forward to this - let's me know I'm working hard ;) Let's do this!
  • Depends on the type of pain you are feeling. If its a more acute pain as opposed to muscle soreness it would be possible for you to hurt one leg and not the other - just the strange way our bodies work!

  • I think partially it depends on what time you work out and what works for you. I usually have a piece of light bread with about one tablespoon of peanut butter on it about a half hour before I work out (eat at 5:30 am and workout at 6:00 am on the week days). Or another thing I've tried is one or two of this energy bites:…
  • These look so good! Seems like a great way to portion out lunches - and easy to pack and heat up at the office! I am going to have to add these muffins to my list of new healthy meals to try out :)
  • I just got married in September. I started my weight loss journey about 11 months before the wedding but didn't REALLY get started until after I bought my wedding dress. Between buying my dress and the wedding I lost 18 pounds and about 2 dress sizes (2 inches from my waist and 4-5 inches from my hips). Even though the…
  • I like this recipe: http://www.traderjoes.com/recipes/recipe.asp?rid=171 I put the all of the ingredients in to MFP and the total calorie count is 213 calories per serving. The recipe makes 4 servings. It seems like not very much at first since it only uses half of the squash but once you mix it all together its a very…
  • Looks great - I think I should track down some PB2 and bring protein shakes back into my diet...
  • I think its good that you are dealing with this issue head on. Maybe also plan some activities with friends? Like movie nights or have them come over and cook you dinner :) Keeping contact with others will help immensely in keeping you out of a dark place. I know I struggled a bit after having my first knee surgery (many…
  • Thank you wandering!! Now its time to find some new motivation to keep me healthy :)
  • I think you should keep up with jogging 3-4 times a week. If you want additional cardio workouts (as you said you are already lifting) I would recommend doing some biking, swimming, or elliptical. Since those cardio workouts are lower impact your body will still be getting some recovery time from the pounding of running. I…
  • Just got back from my honeymoon but I'm still here for support for those of you who need and I need support to keep going with this journey post-wedding! I managed to hit my goal weight the day before my wedding. It was a great feeling. I felt wonderful on my day of and on my honeymoon. Gained a few pounds on the honeymoon…
  • That is a great idea! Its never too early to start changing your lifestyle! Good luck :)
  • Thanks Wandering!! Still two pounds off. Weighing in again on Friday so we will see! Had to take a couple of weeks off from working on and sticking strong to the plan because I had a trial which left me with little control over my meals and no time to workout. Now I am back. Setting my plan this week to stick within my…
